My experience here has always been wonderful. The women running the store have always been friendly and quick. I have had my clothing both dry cleaned and altered without a hitch. I especially love that they are open early and late so I can pick up clothing before or after work. The prices are a little on the high side but I am willing to pay for convenience(the location is walking distance from my home and the hours).

Brought in a dress where the elastic snapped around the middle. The representative said she wouldn’t be able to fix it but she would try. She not only fixed it, but cleaned it! Very impressed.

If I could give them zero stars I would. They completely butchered a suit jacket I asked them to alter. They said it was because I didn’t give them enough time to do it, though they swore when I dropped it off that it was fine. The woman behind the counter kept pointing her scissors at me and jabbing towards me with them– I felt threatened. Don’t go here.

SO unfriendly and vague about prices. It’s almost like they don’t want to keep their customers and act like you’re bothering them by giving them your business. You can drop off an item and they’ll give you a general quote(like $ 20 for a comforter with no stains that just needs a light cleaning due to normal use) and they’ll charge $ 40 for no apparent reason. So shady — avoid at all costs, even if that means taking your things all the way across the city.

This is a very solid cleaners. Reasonable prices, quick turn-around. I love that they are open until 7pm so I can make sure to pick up my clothes after work. The people behind the counter seem very focused on the work, which can come off unfriendly(I saw it mentioned in other reviews), but they certainly are easy enough to work with when need-be. My wife has gone here for alterations a few times, and always seems happy with their work.

This place is literally a two minute walk from my apartment, so naturally it was my first choice when I moved to Mount Vernon. I’m not looking for some magical red-carpet treatment when I drop my suits off to be cleaned, and these guys don’t disappoint for the price. I’ve never had a bad experience here, so I plan on going back for as long as I live in the neighborhood.

They are not friendly. You would think they want to keep regular customers, but no. Not this place. And they have ad in the window saying 2.99 Wednesday special but no, my shirts didn’t get a discount. What a rip off. I would rather bring my stuff to my old dry cleaner even though I have to drive. This place is walking distance for me, but the price and service does not justify my patronage.

Royal Cleaners gets shirts clean, they don’t staple the number tags onto your clothes. The prices are average. Decent hours means you’ll usually be able to pick drop off and pick up your clothes on your schedule. My only complaint is that once I tried to clean my girlfriend’s dress shirt(no frills, no lacy stuff, literally like a guy’s dress shirt except for the cut) and they were forcing me to pay the blouse cleaning price. Shady.

If i could not choose a star I wouldn’t. DONOTTAKEANYTHINGHERE. I dropped my wedding dress at this establishment two days prior to my wedding to have it pressed. We chose this place based on reviews, but do not be fooled. I was nervous when I dropped it off due to the fact that the girl there told me I could take my garment bag with me and I told her no, because I did not want the dress to be dirtied. I left the garment bag and said it would be picked up with the dress. I got a call the day before my wedding(before 8am) asking me if I needed the garment bag(why would i NOT need a garment bag for my WEDDINGGOWN???) and if I did then they would need to get it back from the cleaners. This was probably the most confusing message of my life. I thought they WERE the cleaners. I called back and said that, like I stated when I dropped off the dress, I would need the garment bag. The girl said, «oh… um… ok…» at which I completely freaked out. I asked her if it was going to be a problem, if my dress was ready, etc. She asked me AGAIN when were were planning on picking it up, I reminded her(over 48 hours after dropping it off, more than enough time to get a dress steamed) and she said«ohhh… um ok.» After sufficiently freaking out, I went to the spa and two of my bridesmaids picked up my dress. The following information is second hand, and I’m sure they will be leaving a review as well, but the dress was all but destroyed. Thank god for them, because I did not find this out until after my wedding. The dress was covered in black streaks and completely wrinkled. To the point that my friends walked into the back room picked up the steamer and showed the woman what the difference between wrinkled and smooth was. My wedding dress made it to the wedding, spotless, due only to my bridesmaids, who cleaned and steamed the dress by hand before the wedding. This establishment should be shut down. Let me say that again, THISESTABLISHMENTSHOULDBESHUTDOWN. Don’t EVEREVEREVER bring anything here, they will absolutely destroy it.

I took a jacket here that I thought was ruined(apparently it wasn’t water proof and I got stuck walking home many blocks in a torrential downpour of a storm, resulting in crazy white mineral stains all over my red jacket). They did a great job and got all the stains out, as good as new! I even asked them to call me after they did a test spot since it would have sucked to pay for a cleaning if they couldn’t get the stains out and they honored this request. They also did a quick hem on some pants that came out perfectly. I’ve had some bad dry cleaner experiences and was pretty hesitant about trying a new place, but I’m a fan and will definitely go back.

Great service and quality of work at this Mt. Vernon dry cleaners. Clothing is always ready for pickup when promised and cleaned well. I’m a world-renowned food-spiller, so I appreciate a dry cleaner that gets out my many stains. Royal does a great job of it! Excellent alteration work, also, offering«original hem» alterations for jeans at a very reasonable price. On top of everything else, the owner is very friendly and never harasses me for using a credit card — the reason I left my last dry cleaner!
