Conveniently located across from the Lauraville farmers market(in season on Tuesdays). Chain grocery… ok on produce… a bit hard to find things at times. Not a bad meat section. All the staples. Serves breakfast Sandwiches and muffins in the deli… of you are on the go.

The only reason I will not give this Safeway five stars is because of them consistently not having enough registers open. There are always at least two 15 items or less registers available, but usually just one open for more than that. Also, the older European woman is very rude and passive aggressive. Today she rang up my groceries incorrectly, blaming both the computer and me, but not herself, and has also told me how I should be doing things as a shopper. What the hell? I get so bummed when I get in line and see that she will be my cashier.

This is the most convenient Safeway(and grocery store) for me to shop at but I often end up going to a Safeway farther away. It often seems like you can’t rely on some things being there, especially produce. The store is kept clean and the service of the staff has been good overall. I just think they need to rev up their offerings and get with the times. Would love to see them carry things like swiss chard, more lentil options, some all soy tempeh. Their bagels though, are probably some of the best bagels in Safeway-land. And they do amazing bear claws. Definitely good work by whoever does the every day baking. They do carry gouda, at least I did see some the last time I went, along with Gruyère, Manchego and Iberica. So perhaps they’ve been improving their cheese selection. Their humus selection has gone downhill to just two brands: theirs and some sucky brand.

Unlike Jim here, I adore this Safeway. I can usually find what I need, and the sales can be really quite amazing(BOGO meat. BOGO cheese. Mix and match). This Safeway is consistently better organized, better stocked, and cheaper than my(awful) Giant back in DC. Also, the music here is fantastic. Minus one for cash register availability. For whatever reason, this store is chronically understaffed.

What a sorry excuse for a grocery store. I’m fed up – I can never find what I’m looking for there. Why not place a product where it is logically supposed to be and leave it there! Why have granola bars split in the breakfast and dietary aids? Additionally, consistently the yogurt, bread, and hummus are expired. Typically I can’t even get basic cheeses like smoked gouda-SMOKED GOUDA?! C’MON! I’m not looking for aged raw gruyère from Switzerland, fer crissakes! And the cashiers are surly, slow, act like you’re the mean old plantation owner. On Saturday mornings there are often only 3 lines open and a half mile of customers lined up. This is no way to run a grocery store. I’ll take my business elsewhere-and so should you. EXPECTBETTER! WHAAAAA!!!
