Hot damn! This place has got great food. It’s really nothing more than a fresh seafood market stand with a small restaurant component and an ever so small dining area consisting of a handful of tables. Basically, you order at the counter and they bring the food to you with plastic utensils and mainly little plastic trays. You go back to the counter to pay when done eating. Take note that the payment system does not let them enter a tip(if paying via credit card), so leave a cash tip in the tip jar! Service was great for what it is. The guys working were exceptionally nice. We had ordered the Maryland crab soup($ 7), a dozen raw oysters($ 13), two soft shell crab sandwiches($ 10 per), and for the little ones, grilled cheese($ 3.75) and chicken tenders w. fries. The oysters were so good that we ordered another dozen(as our dessert :-)). Anyway, the crabs in the soup and sandwiches were incredible and so fresh.. .slap that ass fresh! Anyway, this place is a gem! Absolutely great find.. .all thanks to Unilocalers! Oh, they close daily at 6pm!!! Take note of that!

Excellent fried seafood. We enjoyed crab cakes, oysters, shrimp, and fish. The fries were crispy and seasoned with old bay. Amazing crab cakes at a very reasonable price of $ 9 and $ 12 for the meal which includes fries and a drink. Really humble hole in the wall joint with limited seating but good service.

Sal’s was closed and washing up but they welcomed us in and fed us terrific raw oysters when we asked. Great stop! Reasonable price, top quality on an early Monday evening.

I was recently in Fell’s Point with some time to kill and a mission to find fresh seafood. We stumbled on Sal’s when walking around Broadway. While it is nothing to look at, you know the true care is going into the freshness of the food. I ordered the soft shell sandwich and my boyfriend got the same with fries. The sandwich was really well prepared and super fresh. I tried a few fries and they were your typical frozen fries with Old Bay, they were still quite good. I am only knocking a star because they are a bit pricey for what they give you.

BANGIN crab cake. Fresh seafood at cheap, non pretentious prices! What a gem. Ignore the other garbage on Broadway and hit this place up.

I was looking for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised at Sal’s. I had the Fish and Chips and the fish was piping hot and crispy, as were the fries that accompanied It. Watch out for some fish bones, though! My friend had the crab cake sandwich and it was crispy on the outside and tasty and soft inside. I would come back to this place. The wait staff were friendly as well.

I think the owner won me over with his charm. He was so friendly and amazed us with his fluent Korean(he’s Salvadoran I believe), which he picked up while he was in California. The shop is mainly a seafood market that happens to have a lunch menu. Anyway, my friend and I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich. It was your basic sandwich with lettuce and tomato. They gave us bottles of tarter sauce and ketchup to dress as we pleased. I thought overall it was made pretty well. The soft shell crab was slightly crispy on the outside and the bread was nicely toasted. No frills here, but sometimes you just want the basics. Decent prices and a lot of seafood options. Next time I might give the ceviche a try.

The thing I loved about this place was the fresh fish and seafood«market» vibe. We weren’t there for that though, so based on the prepared food, it gets 3 stars. We had the fried calmari. It was local, so we were all in! Unfortunately it was cooked a tad much and too rubbery as a result… but it did have good flavor and was seasoned well. I am a crab cake freak and had to try them here. Again, I was a bit disappointed due to the amount of filler in the cake. I would have thought there’d be more lumps of crab being that MD is the heart of where crab cakes happen. Oh well. But overall not a bad experience. The workers were super friendly and that’s always a plus.

Great Find! New Orleans feel to the place! Had oysters and delicious steamed shrimp. Make a point of it to go there when in Baltimore.
