Delicious and fast chopped salads in a cafeteria atmosphere with awesome options for protein and toppings. My $ 9.55 salad was a great mix of greens with a very generous scoop of curried chicken, corn, feta cheese and pickled artichokes topped with a scallion Dijon dressing. Yum! The portion was so large I could barely finish it. Loved the free bread and serve-yourself water. The whole time I was there I didn’t see anyone order anything other than a salad, and I can see why. Perfect lunchtime stop for anyone on the go.

This make shift café set up in the second floor of CenterStage opens two hours prior to show time. While Sascha’s caters it, don’t expect the full menu. They have three or four entrees in chafing dishes. There are also premade salad, soup and sandwich options available. Prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. Food is served on cafeteria style trays. There is a basic bar with liquor, wine and beer. Food is pre-ready so this is a good option if you are running behind. Notably, we got here about 40 minutes prior to the show, and one entrée was already sold out. I’m rating this not as a restaurant, but as a theatre eatery. And it’s a lot better than popcorn and soda.

I’ve eaten at Sascha’s Express counter on the 2nd floor of Centerstage several times before seeing a show, and I have to say I’ve been more than satisfied every time. I’m pretty sure that they change the small selection of menu items occasionally throughout each season. During my last visit, I went for a combo meal with soup and entrée for $ 13. The broccoli bisque soup was flavorful without being overrun by cream. My tunisian meatball entrée included two very large(about the size of an apple) and delicious meatballs served over a bed of seasoned couscous, and a simple but tasty house salad on the side. I think the prices here($ 10 for just entrée, $ 13 for entrée and soup) are more than reasonable considering the diversity of the selections and generous portions served. Definitely a great option for a quick bite before a show at Centerstage, especially if you’re running late or don’t want to hunt for parking twice in one night.

Prior to attending a recent play at Center Stage, we tried dinner at Sascha’s on the mezzanine level of the theatre. Many people were dining at the time, so it looked promising. We couldn’t understand the reason why so many people were there once we got our food. I had the Tuscan chicken ragout. It tasted like chicken soup with very little chicken. The sauce was thin and runny. The potatoes were nicely cooked. As a matter of fact, potatoes comprised 90% of the serving. The serving size had to be about a half cup. My husband had the Talapia Creole. Although it was seasoned well, there was little ease going for it. Both dinners were paired with a small salad. The broccoli bisque was watery and not flavorful. The highlight of the meal was the chocolate chip cookie. For 2 entrees with salad, one bowl of soup, one cookie, the total bill came to $ 27.50. I don’t feel there was any value for the money we spent. Good thing that the play made the night worthwhile.
