History

Established in 2009.

I had been cleaning houses to supplement my income for several years when my toddler (now ten) began to develop chronic, and sometimes severe, skin reactions. After numerous trips to the doctor and several Allergists without satisfactory results, I started researching on my own. There was no way I wanted to continue with the steroid treatment which had been prescribed. My research led me to an article about the chemicals in laundry detergents and body cleansers, and I decided to switch to more natural products. Through trial and error I discovered that once I removed the sodium lauryl/​laureth/​dodecyl sulphates, my son’s skin irritations vanished; hence, the birth of Stacey’s Clean Sweep.

I was a bio-​chem major in college and initially wanted to become either a marine biologist or a doctor. However, life took me in a different direction. After starting a family, med school was no longer an option. After a bad car accident, I found myself unable to work and way too much time on my hands, so I started experimenting with making green cleaners. I developed a non-​toxic chemical free degreaser, which I’ve been trying to tweak before marketing or FDA approval. It works fabulously on stove-​tops, but unfortunately only in liquid form, so you can’t use inside oven… doesn’t stick! Please check out my facebook page for the before and after pictures.
