History
Established in 1988.
Created by former Ritz Camera employees who knew they could establish a high-quality, personal photo services business that catered to serious amateurs, pros and small businesses who cared about quality images. They grew their business as 35 mm film experts and quickly expanded with medium format film services to APS film and finally digital photo services.
In 2006 with a film and digital mix with exciting new products, photo gifts and personalization and new media on the horizon (canvas prints, giclee printing, fine art prints and more), the company was sold to a local businessman and Techlab customer. Continuing the film processing tradition combined with digital photo products, Techlab Photo has grown into a full service film, photo, print and digital services that is always seeking out the best ways to serve photo customers including the dry printing market such as photo books, folded photo cards, flyers and more.
Meet the Business Owner
Dan G.
Business Owner
A former Techlab Photo Columbia customer, Dan purchased the company in December of 2006. After a year and a half hiatus from Howard County, Dan brought the company back to the Columbia area in 2008 by moving into the emerging Maple Lawn community to go along with the Baltimore location.
As a virtually lifetime Maryland resident, Dan was incredibly interested in a local company with exemplary products and service and bringing that company through the 21st century with new and classic ways of sharing, preserving and archiving your memories through photos and photo products.
