Description

Specialties

The Corduroy Button is a children’s boutique that specializes in infant and toddler clothing, furniture, gear and gifts. We recently started carrying cribs and strollers from many of the top companies in the industry and are adding new merchandise weekly. We offer free gift wrapping, personal shopping and of course a gift registry. Our knowledgeable staff is will and able to answer all of your questions or to help you pick out a fabulous gift.

History

Established in 2004.

The Corduroy Button started as a children’s clothing store in Fells Point after many people asked where the closest children’s store was located. The opportunity to make this a reality came when a retail space opened on Thames St in the fall of 2004. Since that time we have grown and expanded across the street and after many requests from our customers we have added furniture and gear to our mix. We are still adding new product categories each week and hope to continue to expand in years to come.

Meet the Business Owner

Alison S.

Business Owner

After working in the pharmaceutical sales field for a few years I decided to open my first store in Fells Point, Fells Point Surf Co. With the help of my husband, also a business owner in the neighborhood, the surf shop grew and we had many requests for children’s sizes. Since there weren’t any children’s clothing stores in the neighborhood I took the opportunity to open one and The Corduroy Button was born. At the beginning I didn’t know anything about children’s clothing or products, but made it a point to fill the store with unique and different items that weren’t available any where else. After a lot of research and customer input I have managed to embrace the industry and to have fun in a field that I never thought that I would be in. Balancing my time between the two different stores can be a challenge, but seeing people come through the doors smiling at what I have built definitely makes it worth it.
