Ultimately, the pizza here is amazing. The casual dining style is nice and the place is clean. It is not as big as I would like, so I do end up near people when the place is packed; you could call that good considering it means others like the place, too! It is on the other side of town, so I don’t go that often, but when I am on that side of town I make sure to get a pizza or two.

Finally! A good pizza! Toss was a great experience. Food(I also had a house salad) was fabulous and the people were very nice. We drove 30 miles+ and it was well worth it. We will go back and bring friends with us next time.

While he Pizza is awesome, unfortunately for the owners of this establishment, the customer service is horrible. We have been going for probably three years and the lady at the cash register is completely unfriendly and unapologetic when we have had to wait up to 30 minutes for pizza that was called in before we arrived. You would think you would get a friendly«hello» and a smile after consistently using the same pizza shop for three years… no dice. Joe at Vito’s is a great example; well be going there more from now on.

If you love pizza the way I love pizza, then check out Toss. I came here for the first time on Tuesday around noon. Took my order to go but there’s plenty of space for dining in. It’s located in a working class section near Belvedere Square. A sign at the door states parking in the back but the lot was not conspicuous while driving so I parked on a side street which requires residential permit to park more than 2 hours. Seating and table arrangement is similar to Five Guys. Not much in the way of décor and furnishings and no music for ambience, therefore, I subtracted one star. I had small Hercules Meat Classic. Definitely lived up to the eponym. I find that some gourmet pizzerias tend to overcook the crust such that it bitter if not burnt. Not a problem here. Also the right amount of cheese. You know how some places have too much cheese and it slides off the crust when cut into it? Thankfully they avoid that. A small pie can accommodate 2 and possibly a third person if they have small appetites. My goal is to try every specialty pizza they have!

Toss is a very good pizza shop. The delivery is usually quick and the food is consistently good. They have unusual options that are very good combinations of ingredients. We have ordered from Toss three or four times. Each time we have tried different pizzas and have been very happy. The Toss Special and Portabella Mushroom were probably my favorite, but the Hercules Meat Classic was also very good, if you are really in the mood for a large portion of meat. I want to try the Satchma’s Spicy Chicken next. Although we haven’t tried it, a friend said the Spinach and Artichoke was very good so that is also on our radar. If you are interested in good pizza that is not run-of-the-mill, I’d highly recommend you give Toss a try. Their well thought out Gourmet Pizzas menu is very good, and I am sure a make-your-own would also be very good.

Delivery sucks. All my toppings were in the box but not on my pizza. Had to return the pizza myself and wait for the manager to come back to the store to rectify the situation. But enviably he did. If you pick up your pizza you will love it. But call in! The online charges extra for toppings

Expensive but tasty. Toss went against what many other pizza restaurants are doing. They avoided all the weird topping combos and deconstructed pseudo pizza and serve delicious classic style pizza. The only hard part for me is that I prefer a New York style crust. Not a thin crust, but not a deep dish or Chicago style crust either. Chewy and doughy almost sandwich like dough. Toss is great for that style of pizza.

I write this review as I wait for my pizza to be re-made again. This is the second time that I’ve used an entire lunch break due to Toss preparing my pizza incorrectly. I guess I’m a glutton for punishment as well as pizza. I like ordering from here because it’s close to my house and is also one of the few pizza establishments that I’ve found to offer whole roasted garlic as a topping. However, the customer service definitely needs to be improved upon. You call ahead to have your order ready for pickup, but instead receive a sorry you have to wait 8 more minutes while we correctly make your pizza. Fool me twice…

O my gosh. My eggplant pizza in one word … Yum! It was so cheesy and flavorful Reminded me of our old neighborhood pizza joint growing up. Delicious.

This place is super duper legit. Owner is from Jersey so he knows what good pizza should entail. (New Jerseyans can’t top us Chicagoans, but they are close… enough, I guess, lol). The crust is seasoned enough to enjoy(and I despise bready/doughy pizza) and the toppings are fresh and delicious with an ample and tasty sauce. I’d give this joint 4.5 if I could. It’s a winner.

I had been reading about this place and last week we decided to give it a go — ordering pickup thru their website. We went for the Roasted Eggplant Pizza and their garlic sticks. Have to say this is one of the best pizza sauces I’ve had. It was insanely flavorful and went perfectly with the toppings. However the crust was a bit soggy in the middle enough so that the toppings were sliding off when I went to take a bite. The garlic sticks were perfection! Nice and crispy with just the right amount of garlic and cheese. The marinara sauce that came with the sticks was also good but I would have preferred a bit more basil or something as it was very rather plain in comparison to everything else. All in all a good experience, tho the price means it will be a special treat only place.

Toss is a little on the pricey side for pizza but it’s worth it. Delivery is not free but it’s less than $ 2, then again it could be because of my location. They give a discount on your 1st order which is pretty cool. I would give this place a 5 star rating but their delivery guy took that away. I’ve never had to walk outside to a car window to pick up my food. Maybe it’s a New York thing(I’m assuming his a New York based on the number he used to call me and his attitude). I just thought it was really strange, it kinda felt like my mom forced my brother to bring me lunch, and out of anger he makes me walk outside in the snow to his car and slightly cracks his window and hands me my cold pizza. Long story short great food but watch out for the delivery guy, if you catch him on a bad day he seems like the kind to spit in your food.

OK. Experience was alright. The pizza was good, they have improved their pizza crust since the last time I came. The big factor in this review is that the waiting times were terrible. We waited probably 15 – 20 mins for one pizza. We had also ordered a salad and wings which we had asked to be made a bit later than the pizza but at the point where we asked if it was ready, it had already been about 30 minutes since the order. Quick tip Toss: Improve your speed and act like you care about your guests. I literally saw multiple employees just chatting or on their phones instead of serving food that was sitting on their service counter. If your thinking of going? Why not. Of course reviews are partially opinions and I may have just chose a bad day to come. You never know. Also there is a reason they are a 4 star restaurant(as of November 6th, 2015)

Dined in a few days ago. Loved the atmosphere and the music(Amy Winehouse, John Legend, Lauryn Hill, Adele, and so many other great artists); I honestly wish they’d forward me a copy of the mix to put on my iPod Unfortunately, I can’t rate them solely on the ambiance. Anywho, I digress. Pizza is pretty good. What counts against them is their chicken… it’s really, really dry and bland. For example, their wings had no moisture as if the wings had been overcooked or made long ago. Plus, the chicken that came on the pizza was also dry and flavorless. Once I picked off the chicken on my pizza, the pizza tasted 1000% better. It’s not a bad restaurant. I just know that next time I come I will avoid anything with chicken. Perhaps if I had done this during my first visit my rating would be higher.

The food: meh. The service: makes the food look great. I ordered twice – the delivery was a little soggy and late, but it wasn’t terrible, so I thought I’d give it another shot. The Stromboli was too bready, though the filling wasn’t bad. One stingy sauce didn’t even come close to being enough. The feta triangles were good, but after sitting in the delivery container, they could have been better. Take two: carryout. Well, I guess this stuff doesn’t travel well. It wasn’t ready when we arrived, so it should have been fresh. I would have been willing to give eating there a try, but after they tried to charge us a dollar apiece for two tiny, half-filled marinara sauces, I give up. Note to management: sauce is cheap. You should cheerfully offer it up if someone asks for extra because the laughable amount you provide is not enough for a third of the Stromboli. And if you’re going to charge for cheap condiments, at least fill up the container – or better yet, give a reasonable serving to begin with.

Toss is one of my favorite spots to order delivery pizza. I like that they have a ton of gourmet topped pies — including a bunch that don’t feature meat as a main ingredient. They have salads with fresh ingredients like spinach, mixed greens, artichokes, olives. I can’t wait to try the calzones. I had high hopes of making my own pizza from scratch this night — but, I got home to realize I had no power. Clearly, with pizza on the brain; I immediately dialed up the folks at Toss. I am a huge fan because you can build your own — similarly to the make your own tacos at Papi’s. There are six sauces — which works for me — because I am NOT a fan of the traditional red sauce. I like the spicy, roasted red pepper sauce and the garlic herb sauce. They also have a bazillion toppings beyond your normal ones: extra mozz, pineapple and pepperoni. Maybe it has been a while since I’ve been to a Dominos or Pizza Boli but can you get fresh basil, artichokes, prosciutto, and/or goat cheese?

I love pizza, and searching for the best pizza in Baltimore is something I’d drive to the edge of the city for. I heard a place called Toss was serving great pizza in Northern Baltimore and I convinced my friend to head over there with me. When we walked up to the counter to order, my friend instantly set her sights on the Herbed Bread Stix. The bread stix were brushed with garlic herb sauce and topped with grated parmesan cheese. The bread sticks were good, but they were essentially just pizza crust. This wouldn’t have been so bad if my friend and I didn’t each order pizza for our meal. That’s not to say the bread stix were bad, they were just unnecessary. When it came to ordering a pizza, my friend and I each decided to create our own pies. My friend went with her favorite, a Pineapple Pizza. She selected pizza sauce topped with mozzarella cheese and pineapple. She’s ordered this pizza many different places but really enjoyed it here. The crust was nice and doughy, but it wasn’t too thick and overpowering the toppings. I also created my own pie, but I created something reminiscent of a BBQ Chicken Pizza. My pizza had bbq sauce, extra mozzarella cheese, chicken breast, basil, and red onion. I loved it. There was plenty of cheese and sauce which are my two favorite things on a pizza. Toss in Northern Baltimore has plenty of options so you can create the pizza of your dreams.

Our most recent experience here knocked down may rating a bit… We showed up with only one other table in the restaurant taken. We ordered a calzone with vegan cheese. I don’t like that they took away many of their vegan options(they said it didn’t sell well. .. but they don’t advertise it at all!), but they still have vegan cheese. 40 minutes later our ‘vegan’ calzone showed up and looked AMAZING. But, it had non-vegan parmesan cheese sprinkled all over the top of it. I just asked for a refund. They offered to make another one, but I didn’t want to wait another 40 minutes. Had they offered to refund my money AND make a free one for us, I would have reconsidered, but they just offered to make another. We were so disappointed because it looked so good. We might try here once more. The pizza our first time was fantastic but the service aspect the second visit would be enough to keep us away.

This will be my go-to place for as long as I live close by it. I feel like I’ve been looking for a good pizza place near my neighborhood(w/o more than an 10min drive) since I moved here months ago and have found nothing with any good reviews, until I found Toss. A large 1-topping pizza for pick-up at $ 10.55??? Count me in. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and was pleased. Not the best I’ve ever tasted, but probably as good as it will get around here. The crust was crispy and the ingredients were fresh and came through nicely. I liked that they used an ample amount of sauce and that they layered the pepperoni throughout the cheese. Yum!
