This bar was the first one I ever went to in Baltimore, when some new local friends decided to introduce me to it. This bar defines divey — it’s in a dark basement below an organic local produce store. It was super cheap and full of locals who seem to frequent this place on a regular basis. The bartender was extremely nice and helpful in recommending a beer to me!

Fair warning. This place is a dive bar. BUT it is a fantastic rendition of the classic American bar… from Dawn behind the bar who gives you a hearty hello and handshake, to the guy sittin at the bar in full camo, to the tinny music playing too loud. Perfect.

My favorite bar in Bmore. The best place to get a draft, sh*t it loose with friends old and new, and hang with Dawn, the bartender. Byo-food, $ 3 drafts, 100% Baltimore and I love it. Now nobody go here because you’ll steal my spot at the bar aftet discovering this place. Hokay?!

Can’t beat this place if cheap and divey is what you’re looking for. $ 1.50 Natty Boh cans, $ 3 craft beer pints, and a large variety of them at that. Cool downstairs whole-in-the-wall look with Keno and an eclectic neighborhood show of people and scene. I’m a visitor to Bmore often, and since this bar is right around the corner from my friend’s place, I expect to be back here often. Awesome on my wallet and awesome as a dive bar.

This is place is an example of Baltimore at it’s best. Vintage, old school, basement bar with modern updates like a digital jukebox and flat screen televisions. Plus a killer rotating craft beer list with $ 3 pints all day everyday. If you love Baltimore and craft beer, you need to visit Venice Tavern today!

Best bar in Baltimore. Awesome beer selection for an unbeatable price. Bring your own food. Good jukebox selection. Quality pool table with 50-cent games. Go on Wednesday nights and say hi to Dawn, she’s the best.

Can you say«three dollar craft beer»!!! Venice is such an interesting place. Heading down the stairs and into the basement-situated bar, it feels a bit like going through a time warp of 50 – 60 years, but with craft beer and modern gaming machines and slightly more modern jukebox added! The photos on the wall harken back to an era gone by! Clientele is eclectic, ranging from old Highlandtown, to hipsters, to craft geeks(like me!), to more colorful types. There’s a pool table, as well as the dive bar mandatory electronic slots games. The prices are cheap, cheap, cheap, including the beer, drinks and snacks. Service is old school good, with the barkeep actually going so far as to top off the craft draughts! There’s many a bartender in the Highlandtown-Canton-Fells-Brewers Hill-Butchers Hill-Harbor East-Inner Harbor-Fed Hill-Riverside-Locust Point drinking corridor that give very bad pours at five to upwards of eight bucks a pint, ya know! Drop by if you aren’t afraid of old school, get tired of the usual Canton scene, want a craft beer bargain, or would like to have a good story about stepping back in time in a charming Highlandtown classic! Just don’t come in expecting a polished, upscale vibe, looking to scope out the crowd for dating prospects, expecting a strong selection of top shelf liquor or the latest chocolate martini, or looking for anything fancier than a cheap coddie and fifty cent bag of chips! Old school, baby! And did I mention the three buck craft beers on tap!!!

Awesome little townie dive bar. Beers are cheap and a seriously great selection(microbrews galore!) Pool table in back, and only 50 cents to play. Great people watching. Since it’s only a few blocks from me, I will definitely be back.
