Located in the wonderful Waverly neighborhood, our store has over 8,000 square feet of sales floor and boasts more than 20,000 items. We are located next to the Giant grocery store and have ample parking for all of our customers. Stop by for all of your hardware and home improvement needs!

Best hardware store ever. Hands down. They stock anything you need those horrible big box stores do in a condensed neat organized place.
The staff is wonderful and helped me out several times with their knowledge, taking the time to explain what to do and how to do it. They know their shit.
(comical that another reviewer complained there was TOO much help — try and find somebody to educate and help you at the big boxes!)

Came here to get keys copied. Unfortunately, one of the keys I had copied didn’t work because the key was too short. One of the «shoulders» of the key was actually part of the blade that went into the keyhole so I ended up with a key shorter than the original that couldn’t unlock/​lock. I went back again the next day to encounter the same dipshit who had copied my keys that day before. He couldn’t understand my explanation and kept telling me that the length of the key didn’t matter. Instead, he blamed it on the wrong cuts. The second copy he made looked exactly the same as the first shitty one. I went home and what do you know – the new copy still doesn’t work!
Not only did I get two bad key copies, but also I wasted precious time and money making two trips here to get helped by the incompetent staff member Steve.
I am never coming back here again to get my keys copied. Go to Robert’s Key Service instead!

I love Baltimore, I love Waverly, I love Waverly Ace Hardware but it is an insane, crazy annoyance to be asked nearly TEN times during a visit «Do you need any help?» Dear God, I know corporate is guiding this behavior but dear God, Waverly Ace Hardware employees and manager, STOP THE MADNESS! It’s crazy!

John is the man. The staff continually reassures that they want to help you find what you need every single time I’ve been there, which is once every other week. But yea John always has these awesome, intricate aquaponics devices on display depending on the season. This Ace hardware store should be the model for every American mid-​sized business in the 21st century.

I always try to go Ace stores instead of big chains, and after having been to a few around Baltimore, this one is my favorite. The staff is really great. Most hardware stores will dog a female customer around and I HATE being badgered while shopping. Here, they will ask me once if I need any help and one «no» seems to be enough. However, if you do need help they know exactly where to find everything and always know at least the basics of what you’re buying. They also have a nice plant selection outside with gorgeous window box plants.
In short, I always find what I need and find the staff to be very pleasant. There’s not much else you need from a hardware store.

95% of the time you are greeted in a non-​annoying way and helped with finding whatever you need.
The only downfall from 5 stars is selection. It’s a small localish kinda place — but they could have more plants in the outside and a few more choices of welcome mats and that kinda stuff.

I grew up loyal to Home Depot but am an Ace convert after a dozen great trips here while outfitting my new home a few blocks away. 5 stars just for the staff; I’ve been unable to get a product just once, and it was a wildcard item. A friendly, unpretentious neighborhood store with fair pricing and the nicest people.

I am the Maintenance Director at FutureCare Homewood. I came in this morning for an emergency purchase. Let me state this: I WILL MAKE IT A POINT TO GO BACK! The staff was awesome. They were attentive to every customer in the store. Great service is hard to find. Found it here. I told the shift supervisor how awesome everyone was. You all were seriously great. Thank you!

My favorite hardware store in Baltimore. Always friendly and helpful, the staff never let’s you get more than five feet in the store before offering assistance. I bought a quart of paint for my banister only to realize I had selected something two shades too light. I brought the can back and they made it two shades darker for free, no problem.

Kudos to Paige for her patience and diligence as she helped me track down some weird exterior light bulbs and did her best to find out what kind of grass seed that I had purchased before by searching through their POS system. Really good stuff!

Ok… I have only been here once, but my game plan is to continue. Here’s why. Upon entering we were greeted with this huge smile, a welcome and are we looking for anything in particular. How fabulous is that? Although ACE Hardware is a chain, you would never know it at this location. Family and neighborhood oriented… they even have a shop cat (rescued from BARCS). Plus the shop resides in an old brick building, adding that much more character and charm. The location is small compared to larger chain hardware stores… so, although I found everything I needed, this may not hold true for everyone. The employees are resourceful, helpful and so kind. What they don’t have they can probably order.
I am an ambiance girl… small cozy places are what I like. Plus, I have a thing for hardware stores (my dad owned a hardware store and I worked there as a kid)
P. S.~ I was told by one employee that several other Ace city locations also have shop cats rescued from BARCS (local animal shelter)

The Love of My Life and I swung by here to pick up some potting soil for our window boxes; little did I know that they’d also have recycling bins, a decent stock of Craftsman tools, grills, and a ton of seeds for flowers, fruits and vegetables. And kitchen appliances and tools? I can’t decide if this is a small neighborhood hardware store or a scaled-​down version of Lowe’s. Either way, we found exactly what we needed, and quickly. The staff were VERY pleasant and actually took the time to show us where things were located, ask if we needed anything, etc. Really, the staff actually blew our minds — I don’t think I’ve ever entered a hardware store that had customer service like this (and that includes the big-​box stores).
A great addition to the Waverly neighborhood, which is in dire need of businesses just like this one. May actually consider coming here first instead of driving all the way out to the Lowe’s in Catonsville.
Also had a chance encounter with the Ace Hardware Kitteh. Sweet thing. :D

I really enjoy shopping at this Ace store. You get to know the staff by first name and get wonderful customer service. They literally have everything on my list. How they pack everything into that space is beyond me. Even so, you walk in the front door and leave within two minutes.

Knowledgeable, helpful, and has some great ideas.
I was impressed by the friendliness that greets you at the door when you walk in. They were extremely patient with me as I picked my paint colors and willing to help! Additionally, there is a little of everything that you could possibly need (including an extensive cooking/​kitchen section).
If you have a question about a home improvement project or just looking for a couple of nuts and bolts, this is somewhere I would definitely recommend.

Super helpful staff. The selection is decent, though not quite the same as a huge warehouse like Lowes. While I was there (15m) I had 4 people ask if they could help me.
I had keys cut there, fast and cheap, and was able to pick up a bunch of things I needed.
