Yomna’s Mediterranean Wraps & Rice

Ok… went back to the cart yesterday for lunch. Added some extra spicy sauce this time, and it was hotter than I guessed… Perfect. It really is delicious. I posted on insta and fb and people were coming out of the woodwork to tell me that this cart is their jam. Adding this spot into my weekly rotation.

They have chicken, falafel, lamb and mixed platters which basically means those things over rice with white and red sauce (and a few pieces of lettuce). Every platter comes with free soda can. You can also ask for extra sauce (which I usually do). Filling enough for lunch or dinner. I usually eat half and my boyfriend can finish a whole platter and is full after. They also have these same proteins in sandwich (pita) form – I find those less filling and don’t recommend it. I way prefer the rice platters. Anyone I’ve seen order from this place gets the rice platters. I’ve tried ordering the falafel wrap and it’s not good because they don’t have the right white sauce to go with it. Get the falafel platter instead. This cart is the closest thing I’ll find to halal guys in Baltimore. I used to love the $ 5 platters but prices have gone up to $ 7, which is unfortunate and will probably mean I’ll come here less. People working at the cart are also very nice and try to strike up conversation with you.

Horrible experiences, prices change within minutes. Please go to the halal cart on Baltimore street. Better food and nicer people. The food was extremely average and not worth it. Would not recommend. Also, if you are craving good food for the same price, please walk a few blocks over to chipotle!!!

Missing alot of flavor and depth, its def not NYC halal, but its more expensive than nyc halal. Thats the issue. Only a little bit of lettuce and tomatoes. The white sauce was vey thin. Should be more creamy, hot sauce was good tho. Also got mozzarella sticks on the side, they were good but only gave me enough marinara for one and a half stick (s) (out of five) squirted on the side of the platter. Wasnt amazing, wasnt bad either. The guys are really friendly, if they weren’t i would’ve gave two stars.

The best food truck ever! The food is full of flavor whether u get the wraps or the plates or the gyros and it’s all incredibly priced! I could eat here every day. My personal favorite and what I usually get from here is the mixed over rice. You get a large plate of flavorful and tender chicken and lamb over perfectly cooked rice and a bit of salad. It comes with a can of whatever soda you like or bottled water as well. All for 6 bucks! I enjoyed the falafel wrap and chicken gyro as well. So yummy. Friendly ppl serving and just wonderful all around experience. Def A+. Do it!

It was ok. For Mediterranean food it was an odd flavor, but edible. I’d eat there again.

Pretty tasty Halal. A couple of things to note. Only Halal cart I know of in Baltimore that stays open late night on the weekends. That being said, did anyone else notice that there are no prices listed? Do the prices change as people get drunker? Also portion sizes are a little smaller than other Halal Carts. The chicken in the chicken and rice is also larger chunk than other places. I still prefer the one on Baltimore St, but this one is easier to get to and open later.

Having lived in New York for 7 years, I’ve had my fair share of halal cart food, including from the famous 53^rd and 6^th Halal Guys. Yomna’s doesn’t disappoint. The meat is tender and delicious, not dry and crunchy like some places that leave it on the griddle too long. The rice is perfectly cooked, and the white sauce is amaaazing. Luckily, their cart stops by every week so I’m sure I’ll be having it often!

I cant express how happy I am that I found this gem… it brings me back to my college days. Halal food is one of my favorites and this place does not disappoint. Don’t judge a book by its cover either, as it may look like just a small, basic food truck, the food is amazingly yummy and fresh. This is my go to when I’m at work because its close and quick. I always get the lamb & chicken mix over rice with lots of white sauce. If you’re in the city you should definitely try this place!

I go to «the cart» as we call it on the corner of Market Place and Lombard weekly when I’m in town. Portions are HUGE and you cannot beat the price… I typically get the lamb and chicken rice combo platter. I’ve made believers out of several local B-​More folks that were leary of trying it otherwise. The «spicy» sauce is just that… spicy, but the tiziki sauce balances it out well.
Give them a try, you will. not be disappointed!

Who knew this was a food stand. I drove by several times. I called, the guy said across from 7 – 11, it’s tricky because I was looking for a restaurant. I am on a mission to find the best falafel. This spot is the best by far. I am not big on food stands, I looked inside it looked clean, the guy also wears gloves which is awesome. I ordered the falafel wrap, he was out of wraps so I got it on pita. The falafel was amazing, not greasy, just right blends. I usually take a photo, but I couldn’t pause from eating to take one. Parking is tight so be patient.

After going to the aquarium with my wife we stopped into a restaurant for lunch. Ended up deciding to eat elsewhere while we were having a drink. We got the check and hoofed down the street to this place on the corner.

We each got the combo and drove it home to eat (40 min). We were impressed at how well it kept; it was not greasy at all. I heated up the rest for supper.
Will be back.

Hands-​down not only the best halal in town, but best chicken as well. I work nearby and my co-​workers and I have become addicts to the heavenly concoctions put together by the kind individuals who man the cart. Amazing prices too — for $ 6 (cash only) I can make my meal last 2 lunches, on days when I have self-​control. For a city with fewer food trucks and carts than bigger cities like New York and DC, this place is a shining gem.

Happened to find the food truck on the way to CVS. People were on line so decided to try.
The staffs were very nice and he suggested to get chicken and rice for my first time. It comes a lot of foods and chickens are tasty. I am not familiar with the sauce but it was good! I should have asked more spicy sauce though. I wanna try something else next time!

(10/​22/​2015) Good food at good prices. Yomna’s has a truck that show up to work every week. Tried the Mix Platter with Rice (asked for a little falafel, chicken, and lamb). It doesn’t look like much, style-​wise, but sure does pack some flavor. Yogurt sauce is garlicky and creamy, lots of dill. Hot sauce is just barely tingly on the tongue, but bright vinegar punch. Lamb is pressed gyro meat like you’d find at most festival/​street vendors, highly seasoned, somewhat salty. Chicken is dark meat chunks, still moist, and spice-​rubbed. Falafel patties look homemade, bright green with parsley and cilantro, chunky chickpeas. Rice is basmati and seasoned as well. I’m a fan!

Yomna’s is my favorite food truck in Baltimore, which is saying a lot. I’m all about the food truck action. Gypsy Queen: you’ll always have a place in my heart, but when it comes to consistency, quality, and friendliness of the staff, this Halal food truck wins.
I’ve had the gyros and wraps, which are delicious, but my go-​to is the Combo Platter with half-​salad, half-​rice, plus lots of the tangy white sauce and spicy red sauce. The result: fresh al dente rice on one side, fresh lettuce and tomatoes on the other, topped with tender chunks of slow-​cooke chicken and lamb, drizzled with the perfect balance of classic Halal white hot sauces.
These cheerful blokes don’t skimp on size, so bring your appetite. And when the platter and a soda top out at a whopping $ 6, you’ll find yourself adding this lunch spot as a regular. Leave the cards at home though kids, this «keep-​it-​simple» food truck takes cash only.

Yes! Great food and great service! I had the combo platter and chicken wrap from here. Both chicken and lamb were well made and thoroughly flavored, just a bit salty. I think I like their food over other carts because it had softer taste. Meat was tender and bite sized. Platter was a lot of food and I had half leftover. The wrap was nicely toasted to give it a little crisp and closed well. Wrap was big too. Sauces were tasty. Hot sauce was a bit strong but added to the taste when used in moderation. Both wrap and rice platter were $ 6 each with can of soda. The guy was friendly, fast and told about two of his other trucks too, one near the courthouse and one other. He definitely wanted us to return. Nice to know when your business is appreciated!

Came here on a Wednesday for lunch. There was only 1 person in front of me. I was choosing between here Chick-​Fil-​A and Nalley Fresh. But the obvious 5 star Unilocal review got me moving towards this direction. At first I was skeptical of a food stand in Baltimore City. But one bite into the food I could see why they received the 5 star rating! The taste was great, the food was warm, and the food was super affordable. The lamb and rice halal entrée that I purchased was $ 6 for both the halal and a canned soda. Perfect for my budget! In addition, it filled my fat-​ass. For the halal you have the choice of having the hot sauce added. If you are bad with spicy foods then ask for it on the side. It tends to get spicy after a few bites. But if you love spicy then go for it. I loved it!
The only issue I had with Yomna’s is that there is no seating. I know this is a food cart but it would be nice to have some kind of seating near the PowerPlant area for customers to eat. Also it would be very inconvenient for people to park to get to the food truck. Just a heads up.
