Geaghan Brothers Brewing and Geaghan’s Pub offers fine foods and craft beer served up with a smile in the heart of bustling Bangor, Maine.
Thousands of locals and travelers agree that Geaghan’s Pub is as close as you can get to a «home away from home.» Tasty meals and delicious craft brewed Geaghan’s beverages are supplied by Geaghan’s congenial and efficient staff. The old Irish adage, «Laughter is brightest where food is best,» was never truer than at Geaghan’s Pub.
History
Established in 1975.
Originally known as John Geaghan’s Roundhouse Restaurant, Geaghan’s Pub and Craft Brewery opened in 1975. Owners John and Arline Geaghan, opened the restaurant located near a local roundhouse (a place where trains were repaired and turned around on the tracks). Since many of the customers worked at the roundhouse, it was a natural theme. But even back then, there was an undercurrent of Irish items being accumulated and hung on the walls.
Initially, their children worked at the pub. In 1983, John passed away, and several of the children purchased the business from their mother. Today, it is owned by brothers Peter, Pat and Larry. In 2010, Larry’s son Andrew rejoined the restaurant as Front House Manager and then in 2011, transitioned into brewery operations.
