I wanted this place to be good. The atmosphere seemed like it had potential. Unfortunately it ranked in the top five worst meals of all time for us. I don’t even know where to begin. First, it’s clear that the staff is not trained. On a Sat. night we were one of two tables, and the waitress was completely frazzled. The soup came out cold and was bland. The Caesar salad was overdressed in a vile mayonnaise concoction that made us nauseated. The prime rib managed to be medium rare and tough all at the same time. It was accompanied by cold green beans and boxed«mashed potatoes». My spouse got baked cod, which was a strange pink color inside. It was accompanied by cold rice and green beans. On top of all this, which was stomach-churning, the waitress kept running by to set tables in the empty restaurant giving us indigestion. The glasses were dirty; the plates were chipped. The rest of the staff was having a loud conversation near the bar the entire time we were there. I do not know how they are still open. I wanted to offer to wash the dishes instead of paying the bill because I really didn’t want to give them my money. We sent back whole plates of food, and nothing was done or questioned. I was hoping for something great because it seemed less stuffy than the Paddock, but this place just needs to shut its doors and cut its losses. I would like to add that the waitress we had was actually very nice. I felt bad for her because she seemed to be doing the best she could with what she had. They still need a trained staff, fresh ingredients, and a new chef!

Wouldn’t go back. The prices are a bit high for the quality/quantity you receive. I will say the décor was very nice. So Went there one night in hopes of some yummy surf and turf. My husband ordered the fish and chips, he said it was very delish only a few small pieces for the price, but was pretty tasty. I ordered the prime rib medium well, with scallops. Our food came out and my prime rib was missing, the waitress then took the plate back and five min later returned with the prime rib added. I touched the prime rib and it was cold, ice cold, the outer edge was luke warm but the entire rest of it was ice. So once again they took my meat back to the kitchen. At this point I started in the sides and scallops, the sides were not that good, blan, cold and not something I enjoyed. The scallops though were pretty tasty. I did enjoy them I received a small side portion not too bad considering it was a surf and turf. So finally my prime rib came out at this point my family is just about done eating, and I finished the only thing edible on my plate the scallops. I go to cut it, and it wouldn’t cut at all, the entire meat was soooooo fatty and such I tried to just rip it apart with my bear hands. I finally got a piece of meat and it was so gross. It tasted like old meat that was microwaved and served. When i brought this up to the waitress(who was super sweet about it all) she came back with a message from the owner/manager, they offered me a free dessert, I honestly didn’t want anything more from them we needed to get our children back to the hotel. So I declined and then she came back with $ 5 off my $ 30 plate. One would think with such a poor experience the manager/owner wouldn’t have the waitress be the middle man. And the fact that I clearly only ate my small portion of scallops without my family, I feel was worth slightly more than $ 5 or a dessert. I will certainly not return there again. And its sad because this place really has the look and feel of some type of quality place. Im a foodie 100% of the way, always tip regardless of the experience, and usually am pretty satisfied. But this was hands down not worth any amount of money.

Just don’t go… We loved The Paddock for many years. Carl our friendly bartender for so long greeted us and was happy to see us. The restaurant was quiet, no music or entertainment on a Friday night. There were a few other folks at the bar and then a couple tour busses rolled in or the place would have been dead. We chatted with Carl and ordered some food. I ordered the prime rib and my wife the filet mignon. The prime rib want bad but my wife’s filet was terrible. Even I couldn’t eat it. There was a guy standing at the end of the bar the entire time talking about fantasy football. Turns out he is the owner and never spoke a word to us even with the bad food. Another gentleman came over to ask about the food and I introduced myself by name and shook his hand. He said he was the manager and a «minority owner». Apologized, etc. I don’t even know what it would take for us to return. The owner isn’t friendly or welcoming and the food isn’t great. Lots of other choices for good food and reliable service. Skip this one.

This was our first visit to this relatively new restaurants located where the paddock used to be. We had a great meal. The clam chowder although not as thick as I like it was very good, lots of clams and great flavor. Several types of fresh rolls and butter were provided. For my entrée I had the salmon special which was served with a rice and spinach with mango salsa. It was delicious. My husband had the fish and chips and son had a burger, both were generously sized and very good. My youngest had the kids chicken tenders which he said were good but was disappointed that there were no dipping sauces available. He also had strawberry cheesecake for dessert which was rich and creamy(had to steal a bite). Would definitely return.

Overpriced and under poured glass of wine served by a grumpy bartender… Waited over an hour for dinner and then sat looking at the empty plates for 20+ minutes before they were cleared. Poor service. Meh food. Don’t waste your time.

Wow. Where to start. My husband and I decided to try out the New Nor’Easter for lunch. We were seated by Andrew, who introduced himself as bartender and manager. There were 3 people in the pool room playing pool. Other than that, we were the only customers in the place. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. Just then a woman and child came in and stood by the bar cash register. The«manager» spent about 10 minutes chatting with her and I had to go over to him and ask for the drinks he had made. He was chatting rather than serving his only customers. Another 10 minutes went by while he was chatting and we were waiting to order. Finally, I ordered a Cesar salad with shrimp and my husband ordered a clam roll. Salad looked great until I took a bite. No Cesar dressing, just lettuce tossed in mayonnaise. Just mayonnaise. There ISNO Mayonnaise in Caesar dressing. It was disgusting. They took it off the bill and I ordered nothing else. My husbands clam roll was a congealed lump of clams with an odd greenish color to the clams on a Stop and Shop grade hot dog roll. My husband said it «sucked». Bland as heck. No seasoning on anything. When the manager told me that someone else had complained about the Cesar being mayo, I asked him if the chef was aware of the complaints. He said the chef is not there, he is an owner chef and not on the line. I asked if they were the chefs recipes and was told no. I wonder why the chef-owner is not behind his line, why they are not the chef’s recipes and why would he bother to buy a restaurant if he was never there and had no idea what was leaving his kitchen. Then the manager told me he was also an owner, and when I asked, admitted that he had never been in the business. It shows. Big time. This place is not going to make it. No way it possibly can. It seems like a limo driver trying to perform brain surgery. They got the one chance from us. They have no clue what they are doing. In short, the food stinks, is way overpriced, and the owners are clueless, but friendly. The place itself is beautiful, but it always has been. Not worth the trip or certainly the money for atmosphere only, though. Stay away.

Not sure what to expect reading some online reviews, but decided to try this place before a concert at the Melody Tent next door. We walked in, were greeted and brought to our booth. So far, nice casual atmosphere and friendly staff. Our waitress was very good and super friendly. I had the mustard maple salmon and my husband had the special seafood fettuccine alfredo. Both dishes were great, portions were fine(not huge –if that’s what you like you may not be satisfied) just added a little salt. They clearly chose to have the same style music of the concert that night, playing in the restaurant. Very cool! Just needs a little updating inside, especially the restrooms.

Thought we’d give it a try as we were fans of the Paddock…(As dated as it was). Interior feels like the British Beer Co. or Bobby Byrnes… Casual pub atmosphere, but the prices are not casual. Started with the clam chowder, which was bland and the consistency was thin. Potatoes were also undercooked, so a disappointing start. We also had the Quahogs and Lobster Rangoon. Both were decent. Nothing to write Unilocal about. Entrees: Lobster fettuccine Alfredo — good amount of lobster. Flavor was good, but again the Alfredo sauce was thin and milk like consistency. Lobster Roll — was on special. Good amount of lobster. Not over dressed, which was nice. Served with lettuce on bun. Came with fries, which were just OK. Crème brûlée for desert. Good brûlée. But again the crème was on the thin side. Server was very pleasant and attentive, she did a great job. Overall the food is good, not great, and I don’t think worth the prices. Not sure if they will last considering the great choices on Main Street for comparable prices and much better food and atmosphere. Can’t see a return unless maybe for a drink and app before the melody tent.

We were disappointed. The service was slow despite a very pleasant waitress who was very stressed. I ordered the lobster/prime rib special. The lobster was fine but the prime rib tasteless. My husband got the lobster pie which he said was very good. I would go back again if they had the 2 lobsters special

Saw the sign for the prime rib special so went in to give it a try. Our waitress was very friendly, but I think very new. She never told us any specials when she came by, just overheard them later from a different waitress after we already gave our order. We ordered the quahogs as an appetizer and the prime rib and the swordfish. She asked me what temp I liked the prime rib and I told her between medium and medium rare. She looked a bit confused and I clarified since I’ve never eaten here before I’m not sure if they tend to overcook the steak or not but I would prefer mine very pink on the inside and not on the well-done side. She said that«medium» would be good. Our bread, appetizers, and meal came out at the same time for some reason. The quahogs didn’t taste bad, but they didn’t seam very«authentic.» More like stove-top stuffing piled onto a shell. My steak was grey and close to well done, with no pink to be found. Although I didn’t order the swordfish it looked pretty good and I did not hear any complaints. I’m not really sure about the décor. It’s casual and the soda came out in a red plastic cup, but it still resembles the Paddock’s fancier interior with dark woods and dressed up wait staff. I think it seemed a bit confusing. The floor looked like a nice upgrade though from the previously establishment. My water cup was finally filled once, after we already paid. I know this is a new place so I’m understanding the staff is still getting their kinks out but it felt too expensive for my experience and didn’t really give me a desire to try again at that price.

we hoped only the name changed but were very disappointed that wasnt all. service was shoddy. food was overcooked and not seasoned at all, we had the«special» prime rib and baked stuff shrimp, one w/baked scallops, the prime rib was the worst i ve had it was so dry i almost choked on it. the waitress was slow and shy. the potatoes had not a spec of seasoning, and the broccolini was limp and unseasoned as well, not sure who thinks its a good idea to serve bland over cooked hospital food at high prices but we were so disappointed. the best part was the take out order we had placed for someone at home, was just the main item and they didnt send the sides that went with it, that was a very expensive pile of mushrooms! i tried to contact them 3 times but they dont reply back, very bad customer service. not sure why people are giving any good reviews, with hundreds of places on the Cape to eat, drive by this one.

Did these other people go to the same restaurant I did??? The food was awful. If you like everything fried or overcooked you will be at home here. We went the first week it opened so maybe some of the kinks have been ironed out. How about a manager who never came to our table once to see how things were going? In a new restaurant? Really? He spent the whole time talking to the hostess with his back facing the entrance. The service is very downscale and unprofessional«OK Hon» but the prices are right up there with some of the better restaurants in the area. $ 26 – 32 for most entrees. You could be at the Red Pheasant or Pain D’AVIGNON. Paper napkins and no tablecloths. The renovation is nice but it’s going to be noisy if they ever get he tables filled. Sorry fellow Cape gourmets a large restaurant well located is not getting it done for us.

Had the fried Brussels sprouts and loved them. Crispy with a nice tangy Asian sauce. I had the swordfish ‘pigata’ which was well prepared and unique. My friends both had the scallop special and enjoyed them. We went early and service was prompt and friendly. The place filled up quickly so they must be getting a following only being open a short time. We shared a yummy piece of cheesecake and coffee/tea. When serving tea it’s nice to be served your own pot versus pouring hot water in a cup with a tea bag. I’m sure they probably have them but just didn’t make it out. Definitely a nice update from the Paddock. While still getting the kinks out this is a great addition to the Hyannis dining scene!

A welcome restaurant return to the west end rotary. There’s enough tasty things going on here to warrant patience as this new enterprise hones it’s identity and menu. It’s okay to be seafood centric, but there needs to be a balance: 13 appetizers, 10 of which are seafood; each special was seafood as well. We’ll be back after they gain more experience and settle into more market-friendly fare.
