I have been getting my eyebrows waxed by heather for almost 4 years. She is amazing! She takes her time and makes them perfect for your face and shape. I won’t go to anyone else.

I will give my stylist 5 stars, as she was very friendly and did a fantastic job on my hair. However, the salon itself is 2 – 3 stars at best. It is in need of a few updates.
I got the feel that it is run by older people that are set in their ways, with little in the ways of creativity. I felt sorry for the stylists, as they had to make excuses for the dilapidated chair at the wash bowl, which mind you was HORRIBLE! Anyone with back issues would likely not be able to sit in this chair. What would it take to invest in a good chair for what your clients are paying? The hair stations are «meh» at best, with little to the eye.
The tipping process was strange. You have to leave a tip for your stylist in a small envelope that they collect at the end of their shift. I was unprepared for this, as I usually include in the bill. Who knew?! I had to leave and go to the ATM, and come back to leave my tip. That alone annoyed me.
That said, I will not be going back.
I had my hair done previously at Salon Shea, but thought I’d try new places as I am new to the area. I will be going back to Salon Shea. I suggest you try them as well and skip Ben E Salon.

Great experience with the staff at Ben E Salon with last minute appointments yesterday. After one shower in the well water around here, my hair turned completely orange and Polina was able to not only fix my color, but make it even better than it was originally. She is also just an incredibly lovely human, so it was a great way to spend a couple of hours. I also booked a facial and eyebrow wax with Heather who was so sweet, professional, and super thorough with the extractions. :-) I highly recommend and will definitely be back the next time I am in town!

I didn’t know what a good haircut was until I came here. Their stylists are all very friendly and well trained. Vance has been my go to for the last 2 years. For a men’s haircut the price isn’t bad, and I always stock up on a few products while I’m there. Just be prepared to make appointments well in advance as their more popular stylists book up fast.

Today I went to Ben E. Salon for my third visit. I usually go to Polina for my hair appointments (she is amazing!) but she is currently on a maternity leave and I was in desperate need of a haircut so I scheduled an appointment with Kristine. From the very beginning of the appointment she was extremely kind and detailed with questions she had about what I wanted done to my hair. She did a terrific job on my haircut, I love it so much! She didn’t push product too much which made me feel more at ease because most salons I go to hammer me to buy products. I ended up buying the product that she recommended though because it isn’t super heavy and gave my hair the results I had been looking for. Overall, a very good experience! Thanks for the haircut Kristine!

This is a great Salon, I grew up here in Barrington and there is no salon in the town that can beat it. Nicole is the BEST! if you need to get your hair highlighted like I do every month I would ask for Nicole, I drive all the way from the city sometimes to see her if my regular stylist is not available … BEST CUT AND COLOR.

Polina is amazing! I went to her around 6 months ago with extremely color damaged hair and she has completely fixed it. She’s now the only person that I trust to color and cut my hair. If you want someone with rich experience and a great personality to do your hair, I would immediately suggest her and this salon!

I drive 3 hours to get my brows done by heather! She is the BEST! Today I added on a facial as a special treat to myself and it was amazing!!! Truly a relaxing retreat, highly recommend.

I’ve been going to Ben E. Salon for 16 years. I have lived in 7 towns since I started going there, and I still always made a pilgrimage back to B.E.S. for my haircuts and color. That’s how good they are. I can’t even tell you how many other salons I have tried in the various towns I lived in, and I was always disappointed. They didn’t compare. I can go to B.E.S. with no clue about what to do to my hair, so I tell my stylist to make a recommendation. She always comes up with something I love.
The service is so friendly and professional, from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you walk out. If your hair or body need a little attention, or if you want to change your look, I’d tell you to go here!

I have been getting my hair cut/​styled with Imelda for about 2 years. She is great. Great neck/​head massage before the washing. Feels great. Nice stress relief. Happens every time. Very relaxing. She is also careful of the water temperature to be just the right temp. Always pleased with her work, also.
Have become addicted to Ben E. Salon’s approach to their customers. Courteous. Friendly. Caring.
The owner stops by to say hello, frequently. They know how to keep customers coming back and offer a wide variety of services at reasonable prices.

I’ve tried several salons in Barrington and my stylist, Joanne is the best. She always makes me feel comfortable and is easy to get along with. She knows what she’s doing with color, which is so important. i always love my hair when she’s done. The lady who does my nails is great. She saved one of my tragically broken nails, which took a lot of work. It was the day before my daughters communion. I would have had to wear a bandaid on my finger if she couldn’t fix it. How lovely would that have been?! The owner is very nice. I always feel welcome when I am there by the front desk people. Of coarse, they sell the Aveda products and have other services. Visit their website for more info., and no, I don’t work there.

I come here for my eyebrow waxes, and considering I’m only in town 3x a year this is saying something (um, i do get my eyebrows waxed MORE than three times a year, I just come here whenever I’m in town). I still haven’t found someone as good as Christine in SF, and I can always get a day-​of appointment.
Unfortunately, the prices have risen like crazy. When I used to come here it was $ 11, now it’s $ 20! WTF, Ben E. Salon, this is Barrington.
