Patients love our gentle and caring manner. We also provide Bose Noise– canceling headphones during treatment so you can relax with your favorite music. Dr. Russell Fitton III has over 33 years of experience in the practice of Dentistry. His son Dr. Rusty Fitton IV carries on the family passion for dentistry as a 2012 graduate of University of Illinois Dental School.

History

Established in 1981.

Dr. Russell Fitton III has been a fixture in the Village of Barrington for 33 years now. He took over a practice from an instructor of his from Loyola University Dental School who retired. His son Dr. Rusty Fitton IV joined the practice in 2012 to carry on the family tradition of providing compassionate, high tech dentistry to our patients.

Dr. Fitton describes himself as a compulsive learner, «I love to stay on top of the current trends in Dentistry». Dr. Russ received his Associate Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in 2012. He has gone so far as to receive 2 patents. One for a dental water line disinfectant procedure and another for a Scuba Diving mouthpiece «The Manta-​Bite».

An avid scuba diver, golfer and ice hockey coach, Dr. Fitton also keeps himself busy donating time to various civic organizations.

What a wonderful experience. Definitely the best dental experience of all time for me to be honest … Had a wisdom tooth growing in and was causing me lots of pain and discomfort. Called on a Friday to make an appointment and they took me in within ONE HOUR. Rusty drove down at 9am on a Friday and took care of my issue. I was able to get to work later that evening. I felt so much better. Office is very neat and inviting. Loved everything about my experience and rusty was/​is a true professional with heart!

After years of having my braces off and a fixed retainer on my bottom teeth, one side finally broke loose one morning and was sticking into my mouth. I called my orthodontist (not Dr. Fitton) but was told he was out of town and I wouldn’t be able to be seen by anyone until the next week, 4 days later. I wasn’t going to make it that long so I looked for another local dentist/​ortho to help me.
Dr. Fitton’s office offered to squeeze me in during my lunch that day to reattach my retainer. I was in and out quickly and years later, my retainer is still staying strong with no issues! A huge thank you to Dr. Russ and his staff for helping me out in a pinch and doing such a great job!

This review is long overdue!
Last fall, one of my front teeth chipped; Dr. Fitton IV was very understanding of my concern and was able to get me in the very next morning! He was able to fix it seamlessly, and the material he used matched my teeth exactly. My teeth look great and the repair has held up. All of the staff are exceptional. I will definitely be coming back and have been recommending them to friends and family.

I should have written this years ago!
Not many people love their dentist and I have to admit, I never understood why, because mine is AWESOME!
I’ve been going to Barrington Dental for the last 14 years and was seen by Dr. Fitton III for the first 12 years. His son, Dr. Rusty Fitton IV started his career at the same practice a few years ago and I became his patient soon after. I recently found out that I needed to get my very first cavity filled … I’m 33, so this was a little scary for me. I’ve never been scared of my dentist, but that’s partially because I’ve never really had anything done. This was new territory, but from the second I walked in, till the second I left the office, I felt like Dr. Rusty was there only for me. He talked me through each step of the filling and made sure I was comfortable. There’s something about his bed-​side manner that makes you feel like you’re just there to get a cleaning… nothing to worry about and with his steady hands, you don’t even know he’s in your mouth! I will continue to highly recommend Dr. Fitton IV (Dr. Rusty) and the entire practice, Barrington Dental, to anyone who needs a dentist!
Oh and I’ve lived in Ca for the last 4 years and WILL NOT go to any other dentist, so this is a review from 2000 miles away and I’d make the trip every single time!!!

This past week I saw Dr. Russell Fitton IV to get a second opinion for procedures that were suggested by a different doctor. I was very upset and nervous after my experience at the previous dentist and was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Fitton’s patience and understanding of my concerns. He and his assistant Noël were calm, friendly and professional which eased some of my anxiety. After taking new X-​rays, Dr. Fitton did not feel that it was necessary to do such extensive work and even offered to file down a chip I had on one of my front teeth. The experience was extremely enjoyable and although I have to drive from the city to see the doctors here it is well worth the drive. From the friendly front desk staff, to the assistants that say hello to you in the hallway, this office really changes the mentality around a dreaded dentist visit.
(Traci the office manager was very understanding when I needed to reschedule the appointment earlier in the week. As long as you call more than 24 hours before your appointment there is no irritating charge to your account! Awesome bonus).

I am scared of just things and people near my face. Today I received the most cmpassionate care from Jessica (dental hygenist) and Dr Fitton IIII DDS.
Just got my teeth cleaned today.
