Bartlett Inn

Just spent the weekend there and thought the place was terrific. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay!

Hope to return one day to catch the fall foliage!

This place is great. We’ve been here twice and wouldn’t hesitate to come visit again. Nick is super friendly and helpful. The rooms and cottages are pretty big for a B&B and are very clean. Nice soft sheets too! The breakfast is a great way to start the day.
During the winter, there is a roaring fire that Nick tends to all night. Overall, a great place to stay.

We ended up at the Bartlett Inn completely by mistake — we had plans (and tickets) to ski at Waterville Valley, and a hotel website listed them as being 12 miles away (it’s 70). Nevertheless, we had a wonderful stay. I am particular about beds owing to a crotchety back, and the bed in the Langdon cottage was terrific. Even better was the hospitality offered by Nick and Miriam. Nick took care to review local dining options when we arrived, late and hungry. When we returned from dinner and entered our room, it was warm and cozy from being pre-​heated. Despite being just off the road, the room was quite and clean. I have dog allergies, and would never have guessed it is a pet-​friendly hotel. We did not try the wifi so can’t comment on it.
Breakfast the next morning was prompt and delicious: eggs made to order, sausage or bacon, and fresh fruit, coffee, and juice.
I think we will try Attitash next trip, and stay with Miriam and Nick again.

Just spent the weekend here with my husband and our dog and we had a blast! The owners are great with offering helpful suggestions on everything from best restaurants to best trails to hike. The rooms are small, but very well kept. We felt at home instantly.
They’re also on a great location right between Bear Notch xcountry skiing and Attitash ski resort with their own trail through the woods to a snowmobile trail which was great to hike at night with the dog.
We’ll definitely look to book again here in the spring time for trail running and hiking.

This place was amazing! The owners are wonderful and hilarious! I have never stayed at a place so child and pet friendly before. The grounds are beautiful, so laid back and comfortable with the marshmallows and fire pit. The breakfast was delicious! We will definitely come back!

My wife and I love the Bartlett Inn. We stayed there for two nights during a whirlwind tour of New England one winter only because of the location and they are pet friendly (our border collie loves to hike too). We were so pleased with the experience we planned a trip the following year to spend a week just there.
The location is perfect to explore all that the White Mts has to offer in outdoor fun. The possibilities for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing are endless. And Nick knows every trail, hut, view and hidden gem in the area. His knowledge is amazing. He also knows every ski slope and restaurant in the area (and how to get you in). Amazingly helpful. I have never seen an innkeeper more attentive in all of our travels! Absolutely first rate.
The breakfasts are very good. The property is excellent. The hot tub is a great way to warm up after a long day of snow shoeing through the mountains. Cabins all have fireplaces that warm the place up quickly.
We cannot wait to go back. Next time though we may try a summer stay to see how all the hiking and exploring goes sans snowshoes and six layers of thermal gear! We are already looking forward to it!

Nick is such a nice guy! He is genuinely concerned that his guests are enjoying themselves and will do everything he can to help people get the most out of their holidays.
Breakfast is great, choice of eggs or whatever the special is for the day. Snacks and cider in the afternoon were also quite popular.
Our cottage (the Langdon room) was a bit small and we could hear the people people next to us very easily. It got nice and toasty with that heater, though! If I went back, I’d probably stay in a room in the house.

Nick and Miriam were consummate hosts. Friendly and encyclopedic in their knowledge of the local area both of natural attractions and of restaurants and businesses. They never steered us badly and we had an especially great trip thanks to their advice and hospitality!

We have been coming here for years and love it. Nick and Miriam are more like old friends rather than just inn keepers. We stay in the cottages, which have their own gas-​stoves and are clean and nice, but the big thing here is the breakfast, it is not the continental help yourself muffins that other places give you. They make it to order and give you options of eggs and bacon or the special, which is often pancakes or huevos ranchos, French toast or some other special dish. Nick makes the rounds after breakfast is served to let people know the best hikes or ski areas, and gives out or sells passes to x country ski areas, downhill or snow shoe or other attractions in the summer. The inn has a great huge fireplace and games, they have cider and cookies or other items after dark. Excellent dinner suggestions with menus of local spots. We love Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery and the White Mt Cider house. The breakfast at Bartlett Inn is enough to last till supper, with maybe a snack on your outing. They get tons of snow, and you can ski or snowshoe right from your door, try bear notch ski area right next door, the trail out back leads there, and it is a short hike to pothole falls. If you go there-​bear notch– get the chili or soup with fresh bread at the warming hut. Love this very unique inn! No other place compares to the Bartlett Inn!

I have stayed here at least a half dozen times in as many years. It’s like visiting old friends — Nick & Miriam are wonderful hosts and always very welcoming (not sure about the reviewer who couldn’t reach them at 11pm — but they do have to get up early to make the breakfast). I have stayed here as part of a group that Nick & Miriam have always accommodated, making it very easy for us to coordinate. The rooms & cottages have all been nicely updated during the past 5 years. The breakfasts are always crowd-​pleasing; everyone in my group has been very happy with them. I am always happy to recommend this Inn to friends who are going to the White Mountains.

Great place to stay. Cottages are nice and comfy. The owners of this bed and breakfast are also hikers and have great truthful info on types of hikes and climbs you are considering doing, so don’t be afraid to ask.

I stayed at the Bartlett Inn with my husband and 2 children (ages 6 and 5) for two nights the first week in August. Rates were beyond reasonable for August in the White Mountains, especially considering the lovely breakfast that you get each morning. Fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and either bacon, eggs and toast, or the daily special (Huevos Rancheros and French Toast the two mornings we were there). We went off on our days full and happy. We stayed in the Tremont which has two double beds and a private bath. The room was cozy and extremely well-​kept. The bathroom was a bit small, but was fine. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool, but it was nice to have the option, and the kids loved playing on the swing set in the mornings before we went off. The innkeepers were lovely and had great restaurant recommendations and good tips for what to see with the kids. Would absolutely stay there again.

I have stayed at the Bartlett Inn many times and each time, it’s always a great experience! The innkeepers Nick and Miriam are so personable and make you feel right at home. They offer wonderful recommendations from places to eat to which day might be better for skiing. It feels like they are really invested in your stay and want you to have a great time and enjoy yourself to the fullest.
Typically when I visit the Bartlett Inn, I stay in the cottages which are clean and spacious, with their own private deck and bathroom. I have never stayed in the actual house of the inn but enjoy going there for breakfast every morning as well as to utilize the hot tub on the back deck. The inn is centrally located to almost anything you want to do… a ten minute drive to Attitash Mountain and very close to shopping, restaurants and bars.
I would definitely recommend the Bartlett Inn for anyone thinking of going to the North Conway area. I have nothing but good things to say about it… it’s affordable and fun. I’ll be back again next winter!

We were traveling across NH late one night and found them through Unilocal or a GPS. Our phone was cutting out and in. On one call, they offered us a cottage with two bedrooms, which would have been ideal. On the next call we could get through, they hung up and on a different phone they said that the office was closed. Their misbehavior and if they are an inn (like their name) rudeness, quite literally put our lives (very slightly) at risk as we had to find a room and drive later and sleep more poorly (which can be seen as health and medical risks).
If they are more a bnb, then, almost fair dues. But if they are inn, and at 11 pm they say that the front desk is closed, repeatedly, then they are on my sh*t list. 2 stars because 11 pm may be a special time in NH (I’m quite serious) and our phone reception annoyed us and perhaps them.

The Bartlett Inn has character and charm that you can’t find at a hotel. FIVE STARS!

There is so much I want to say about how great this place is.
Instead I will just admit that I had SO much fun in New Hampshire during this trip with The Bartlett Inn being at the heart of it that I’ve fallen in love with New Hampshire again and I literally wept a little on the way home because I was so sad to leave.

I’m not going to get overly wordy here. I’ll just say that if you want to stay near North Conway, with the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, stay here! Nick & Miriam are so great to chat with, and they have great ideas for dinner, depending on your tastes. I personally highly recommend dinner at «White Mountain Cider Co» and breakfast at «Upstairs Café» in N. Conway. If you like great beer, swing by «Moat Mountain Brewing». Try the nachos.
The little cottages at Bartlett Inn are cozy, and clean. I would definitely go back again!

Great place, even with three small kids, which is saying a lot. Friendly, helpful innkeepers, delicious no-​frills breakfast, beautiful setting, and a brand-​new clean pool. Would highly recommend, both with and without children.

I haven’t been to the White Mountains since I was about 5 and I really wanted to experience it the way it should be experienced: relaxation at its fullest potential.
I didn’t want to spend my time in some random motel or some heap of a place with ‘New Hampshire country’ charm. There were plenty of choices for the No. Conway area, right smack in the middle of the White Mountains but the Bartlett Inn had a lot of potential just by judging from its website and my first phone call with the owner Nick.
This place is as close as it gets to a REAL bed and breakfast. From my phone conversations with the owner Nick and my arrival there at 10pm on a Friday night, the exceptional customer service was nothing less than, well, exceptional. I felt right at home and as if Nick and Miriam, co owners, were long lost family of mine. They treated me and my boyfriend with such warmth and hospitality and did not hesitate to offer their knowledge of their favorite local places to eat, great locations to hike, etc.
The inn and cottages themselves had such country charm and it just melted all your everyday stresses away and couldn’t resist to make you relax. Our cottage came with a wood fireplace, a queen size bed, full bathroom with whirlpool tub, kitchenette, and cable television; it was its own little house. As my boyfriend said, «I could live here, it has everything we need!» The hot, homemade breakfast, thanks to Miriam, was fantastic and ‘homemade’; not just muffins and fruit like most places.
I cannot stress enough the exceptional customer service we were treated to by Nick and Miriam. They really cared about our stay and wanted us to have the best experience possible.
I will definitely be back!
