Northern Extremes Snowmobiling

I have done the tour with Northern Extreme for many years. I have done 2 hour guided tour (I am not an experienced snowmobiler). They provide all the necessary outfits for rental. The instructions are adequate for the tour. All employees are professional and friendly. It is a fun experience. I always make advance reservation before I show up.

100% recommend this company over others in the area. Reservations were quick and easy.
The four of us opted for 4 individual snowmobiles and a guided tour. The building where you check in is cozy, organized and clean. Every single staff member was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. After confirming we all had the appropriate outside gear, the four of us were outfitted with helmets. The helmets were in excellent shape and I actually got a pink one! Pretty cool for a mom who is surrounded by boys.:)
After we were outfitted with helmets, we jumped in their clean van and after a few minutes we were delivered to the snowmobiles, which were in excellent shape. Our guide Chris could not have been better! It had been awhile since we snowmobiled, so he took the time to explain the ins and outs of the snowmobiles. He easily answered our questions and off we went! Within a few minutes, Chris had us all stop and checked with us to ensure we were comfortable and our snowmobiles were in working condition. We stopped at various spots, including a bear clawed tree, which was awesome! Chris also offered up granola bars in case we wanted a quick snack. At times, we were also able to go quickly to the delight of us all, though never disobeying the speed limit.
This experience with Northern Extremes is night and day compared to the other, close by rental place.
Thank you Northern Extremes and Chris for making our New Hampshire trip even more amazing and fun! We all look forward to the next time we visit from Connecticut.

Had a great time, only my second time on a sled but our guide Bear made it easy and a fun experience. Saw some breathtaking views of Mt Washington, rode on some fun trails and even let the machines rip on snow covered roads! Great guide and an okay harmonica player ;)

Terrible customer service! The man had a horrible attitude! He wanted to charge us for a million things and then said it was stated on the website which none of us ever saw! I would never do business with them, find another place to rent!

After trying to rent from another snowmobile company in Bartlett (Stay away from Lil Man Snowmobile rentals) we went to these guys and got the family package, two sleds for two hours for under $ 200 (That’s everything) They gave us two 2015 Ski Doo’s that worked perfect and because we had to wait a little to get our machines, they told us we could stay out a little longer. We rode for 2 ½ hours and covered 70 + miles of great trails. We did not take the guided tour, opting to go at our own pace. We will certainly be back.

This experience was da’ bomb ! We had «ken» as our guide and he was just crazy enough to make it so much fun but kept an eye on us «newbies» to feel safe. You just have to do this!

We booked a 4 hour tour around Bretton Woods. It was pretty fun. One of the people on the tour crashed his snowmobile, and we got delayed, and they gave us a reasonable refund upon request. Our tour guide, Patrick, was very professional. The snowmobiles looked brand new to me, and we overall had a good time.

We have spent this week on guided & self guided tours with Northern Extremes Snowmobiling. Bear and his crew are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, they have great equipment and comfortable to ride, as well as keeping you warm :)
We had a fantastic 126 mile tour yesterday with Solomon and had a blast! We are looking forward to our next week of snowmobiling with this company… make sure you make reservations because they do sell out and you don’t want to miss out on this professional outfit You can’t go wrong renting here!!!

Excellent place. We have a yearly family snow mobile trip and this is the spot. All the employees are chill — especially Bear. During this trip, our tour guides was Patrick and he was excellent. He started up slow — we had two new riders. Then his tour got progressively faster. Oh, and they give you hot cocoa to warm up. It was much appreciated, though, I wish they had tea. Next time I’m bringing tea bags.

I just came back from a mid-​week stay in NH White Mountains. My son and I thought we’d give snowmobiling a try and heard about Northern Extremes. We decided on a 2 hour guided tour. The folks there were very friendly and recommended that we also rent some of their snowmobile apparel so we would be comfortable in the cold elements. They have everything you need at a reasonable rental price. Our tour guide, Ken, was great. He seemed to really want everyone in our group to have a great experience. He started out with a briefing on how to safely operate the snow machines and then what to expect on our trip. Our snowmobiles were brand new with 4 stroke engines meaning no smoke and very fast. We started out with moderately slow speeds until he (Ken) felt comfortable that we go much faster (which we did!). Made a few stops to take pictures of the outstanding scenery. Both my son and I had a great time and would recommend giving Northern Extremes Snowmobiling a try.

Hands down the best time my wife and I have had since our honeymoon. We got a double sled because the wife didn’t want to pilot her own machine. Our tour guide Beech was amazing. He made everyone feel comfortable and not only taught us about cute little mice tracks in the snow but also about big cuddly black bears that climb trees. The wife eventually took the pilots position and got up to about 40 mph on Bear Notch Rd. She said the next time we go back she is getting her own sled! Can’t wait to get back in the mountains and shred some snow. THANKS for a great time Beech!

This place was hands down awesome! My husband and I drove up from NJ to go snowmobiling. We booked a reservation for two singles on one of their tours. When we arrived, we were greeted very nicely the front desk staff. I can’t remember the girls name, but she was the one who helped my husband make he reservation and she was super knowledgable and helpful (my husband tends to ask TONs of questions). They had gear that you could rent (jackets, gloves, pants, boots). The price for the rentals was the same as everywhere else nearby. The instructor, Ken, was FANTASTIC! He was totally friendly and welcoming and while out on the tour brought us to some spots for great photo ops! He also gave great instructions on how to navigate and maneuver the snowmobiles. I was the only other girl in a group of about 6. He switched around people in the order we rode in to accommodate those that wanted to go faster and for those of us that were not as «brave» to speed around… But he made sure to keep the group together and safe. Which I definitely appreciated (cause while we were on the trails, we saw another group on tour-​not sure if it was with the same company– but they were all broken up). Anywho, this was by far the best place to snowmobile! Definitely will be coming back.

Hello All, I cannot express to you how much FUN this was. I was with a group of 5 and we had a really GREAT time! This was my 1^st TIME Snowmobiling and it will not be my last. Thanks to Bear and is very fluid instructions I was able to successfully make a trip up and down the hill. Scenary AMAZING! The guide Bear made you feel safe and is very passioante about his job! OH and he plays the Harmonica! I will be back and will requeust Bear especially and his son Jacob should come along as well ;)

My girlfriend and I went out on an unguided half day trip, which was an amazing experience. The staff was extremely helpful, especially Bear. It was our first time snowmobiling, and we were both well prepared for the trip thanks to their professionalism. The trip itself was fantastic. We saw some amazing views and it was loads of fun driving around. I recommend both the location and the company.

This is our 2 year returning to the place and will do it again. Out guide was Bear who was the best. We did an all day tour which was great. Thanks guys for another great trip.
I checked in on Unilocal and got one of theses yep deals where you book a tour and get a free shirt but wasn’t able to pick it up. Because we left out of there Brenton Woods location and it’s a small location. In fact it was the 2 all day tour this year that they ran out of that location so the location wasn’t fully geared up yet.

These guys are pretty good and seem to take good care of their sleds. Love the 4 stroke machines. We rent from them probably twice a year. It’s hard to run a business like this and get great customer service as you get a lot of folks that have never rode a snowmobile before and find out that it’s just a piece of machinery out in the middle of now where. There’s always room for improvement but I still like this place a lot. Not for everyone — but try it!

OMG so much fun!!! We took a three hour tour that we got through a package at our B&B, the Cabernet Inn.
Our tour guide was really friendly and he did his best to make sure everyone was having a good time. It was absolutely FREEZING on the day we went and our guide gave me hand warmers for my gloves when we stopped for a break. FYI, if you’re riding double, it’s definitely warmer to be the driver, since you have a heated steering wheel.
They offer single or double sleds. (Yes, they are called sleds if you didn’t know that because you’re like me and clueless about snowmobiles!) We opted for the double and took turns driving. We got up to 40 mph on the wider, bigger trails.
And the views were absolutely gorgeous!

Awesome! A+. Girlfriend and I are beginners to snowmobiling (we’re 25 and 26). We booked one double snowmobile for the 3hr guided tour. It ended up just the two of us and Beech (one of the guides). Not only was he super informative but insisted on taking lots of pictures and video for us. The two of us switched off driving and riding which was fun. I read some of the other posts on here — we didn’t have any issues with booking and the staff was fine. Our guide Beech was above and beyond what we had expected. We had an awesome time and will be back! Nothing to do with Northern Extremes their email warned us. but pay attention to where your GPS is taking you. ours took us right by the place and about 10 miles up the road to realize we had to turn around!

Staff was nice, but disorganized. Logistics were a challenge to most customers we talked with as well.
Staff did not inform us that a trail was closed which caused us to return late by an hour or so (for lots of $$$). Others had the same issue. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt is hard. We had a ball n spite of the customer service.

We had a blast! Nine guys went up for a bachelor party and we rented machines individually. I got there early and got to know the owner and staff. Very kind and courteous. We did a self guided tour which might have been a mistake as we had our moments and we let our testosterone get the best of us and went a little too fast.
One of the guides with another group told us to slow down a couple of times and we respectfully did. However, one of our buddies who is disaster proned hit a dirt spot into a hairpin turn on a tight run. He jumped off and was luckily unscathed but the sleds hood was busted. We took him back.
At the end of the day the owner came out to survey the damage and he was a class act and made no one feel terrible about it. I have done a number of these kind of trips and the terrain and scenery was incredible and the operation was tops. I found out they also run the canoe rental place in town and this summer when I take the kids to Storyland I am definately gonna use their facility.
