The Home Depot

Was in the Bartlett store recently and witnessed 2 female employees giving an older gentleman a hard time as he was returning some items. Why was this necessary? Can’t people just go about their jobs with a sense of professionalism and pride? Guess not. Political agenda’s must super-​cede actually doing the job. Dis appointing and too bad as 99% of the employees in the Bartlett store are amazing. Lesson learned. Wish you could of been there to observe. A living picture is worth a thousand words.

Excellent place to shop for home goods. Usually builders and contractors love this place. Everything is organized and clean. Employees are always knowledge and helpful. It’s also huge and are always willing to walk you physically to something you’re looking for instead of giving you vague directions. Customer sevuce department is usually quick and kind.

Worst big box hardware store around. Tons of employees that will say hello to you but don’t know their departments. I have spent literally thousands of dollars in the store and when I wanted to return one thing I got treated rudely. It didn’t take long for them to lose a good customer

Go to Loews. Install labor is sub par. The extra cost from the others is money well spent. Unless you’re going to flip your place, Spend the extra cash. I’ve had to spend extra cash to repair the installation from here (HD) even though it was guaranteed for life. Beware…

I ordered a storm door in October since I was told it would be completed by Thanksgiving. I thought it would be ideal to protect my new front door from the elements of winter weather. It is now ¹²⁄₁₉ and still no confirmed appointment with much frustration in between! The time I’ve spent following-​up with them has seriously cost me more than the door itself considering I’ve taken unnecessary time off, especially during the holiday season when I could’ve spent it with family! I keep hearing January dates tossed around for an install date and I refuse to cave and settle, so I have escalated the matter to Richard Goodrich, their regional VP.
As much as I prefer for the local store to find resolution in the matter, I have lost faith in their ability to make it right. How can I trust Home Depot for more extensive projects when a simple storm door has become a bigger project than my recent kitchen remodel?! It’s a shame that subpar service has become the new standard for many businesses. Home Depot seems to not care much about having such standards.

Very bad experience with custom window treatment order. After 2 months of going back and forth to the store and dealing with the special sales assistant store manager and the store manager, they have still not resolved the issue. I spent over $ 1,000.00 for the custom blinds, and the order is still wrong.

Paul C. From home depot displayed outstanding customer service with my associate and I. Paul our customer service rep was eager to help and answer any questions & concerns we had in regards to what we thought was going to be a never ending task of painting and remodeling. I was extremely impressed that he was so patient with us being that it was 10 mins to closing time, but like any great associate he was polite and did not rush us one bit! For that I thank you tremendously. I really didn’t realize how much thought and preparation it takes when dealing with the planning and prep work that goes into remodeling that’s why after we gave it the good old college try. we called in the PROS to finish the job! G.D. Decorating who came so highly recommend by all his peers and the word around town. For that reason alone Both companies have a customer for life. Home depot in Bartlett and G.D. Decorating in Palatine and the surrounding Wisconsin land area! Thanks again for all your tremendous advice and continual hard work. I will be sure to tell everyone to spread the word!

Was VERY IMPRESSED — went in here the morning of Black Friday 2013:
— donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate immediately as you walked in the door. This was a very nice gesture. It was cool to see people walking around with coffees in their hand while they shopped.
— staff seemed very upbeat and friendly — perhaps it was coincidence, perhaps it was the joy of Christmas spirit. Either way, they all seemed very nice and ready to help.
— Store seemed more than adequately staffed. Staff was waiting to direct you into open check-​out lanes and many other staff were actually wandering around offering to help patrons. Very pleased.
— HIGH QUALITY POINSETTIAS. Most are 99cents (you can’t get them this cheap, for this quality — ANYWHERE). The store usually stocks 2 – 3,000 of them on this day, and by the time we got there at 8:30 am, over 800 were gone. People were loading these up by the cartful (limit 12 per customer). Again, I must stress these are QUALITY poinsettias — many times ours have lived as late as into May or even June!
Was very pleased how the store handled themselves for this day in particular. Store wasn’t overly packed, but everything seemed to flow very smoothly from the moment you walked in the doors. Staff was abundant, organized, and seemed ready to help anybody anywhere.
A+ hands down.

I had an outstanding experience with Home Depot, particularly with two employees:
We recently had countertops installed from Home Depot, and after the installation, I went back to Home Depot to purchase hardware for the sink. At the store, I discovered that we had an issue with the sink installation (changing it from a double drain w/​disposal to single drain). This issue could have potentially cost us hundreds of dollars — to have the counters recut the countertops, or to have plumbing done by the contractors. However, Barb began helping me, calling the contractors, getting additional opinions, and seeking out cost estimates. She was so helpful and friendly; she made a potentially stressful experience much easier to handle. Barb sought the help of Jerry, one of the store associates and a licensed plumber. Barb & Jerry went out of their way to resolve our problem in a cost-​effective and efficient manner.
We will definitely continue to visit the Home Depot for our home improvement needs!

Stopped in this morning having no clue what I was doing or what I was looking for. Talked to a couple employees who were all very nice and helpful but Tom went above and beyond. I’m not a big Unilocaler but I felt like Tom was so great that I just had to write a review. So if management reads this give Tom a raise.

This is our to to home improvement store since it is so close to our house. I find that they are either completely spot on or off. The are times when we get so much help and other times where we can’t even find an employee for help.
We stopped in today to look at some tile when a younger gentleman came up to my husband and myself and says «guess what I’m going to ask you?» It was a little awkward. he looked like one of the people that want to sign you up for the free kitchen sweepstakes that are occasionally there.
I told him we didn’t want to sign up for anything when he continued to go up to my husband and tell him that he would paint cars on our bathroom walls and then Told him that we were a part of the Lou mattani club (um what?.) I was very creeped out and we ended up leaving.
Management if you read this please discuss this with the employee. I found it completely unsettling while I was there today.

I came here to find a fix for my faucet. I asked the first employee at the front who knew the general location of where I could find the faucet piece and another guy who could help me. Within about 5 minutes, I had the faucet replacement in hand was going home. AWESOME help! Thank you, home depot!

I love my local Home Depot Store. I can always find everything I need under one rooffor things I am working on around the house. The store is always clean, everything is well organized, and the staff is very friendly and always willing to help if you have questions. The last big project I worked on was in my basement. I built a Polynesian Tiki Bar complete with tiki statues, bamboos, mattings… the works. (see picture). I’ve never really worked on a big carpentry project like this before, so the first step was to go to Home Depot to purchase the tools and most of the supplies that I would need. Also, as I am building a Bar from Scratch, I was sure to utilize the staff’s expertise by asking them questions on the right tools and supplies. The staff I talked to were very helpful and even suggested purchasing bamboos from their garden department that might add a touch of authenticity to my tiki bar. I didn’t know Home Depot sold Bamboos, so I was really glad to have purchase it here as opposed to purchasing the bamboos online and paying for expensive shipping.
I ended up purchasing most of the supplies for my Wickedly awesome Tiki Bar at Home Depot (see picture), and I could not have done this project without the help of the friendly staff.

If I need anything when I’m working on projects this is my place for parts, tools and more. The store is always clean, organized and I’m surprised by how friendly the staff is. I have had few encounters where the person I asked for help was not able to help me and in most cases they are very willing to help and they make sure you get what you need. Overall, service is what this store excels at!

Ok, I’m totally writing a review just because I saw they have someone who reviews social media feedback. How awesome is that?!?
This is my local Home Depot and I have been here many a weekend. It is always clean, employees are friendly and I always get what I need.

I decided to build a custom beer pong table for my boyfriend’s birthday. I had no clue how to get started, so I headed to Home Depot to get supplies. Sarah immediately greeted my friend and I as we walked into the store. Being used to nonchalant and aloof retail employees, it took my by surprise when she started asking questions about my project. I explained what I had in mind, and she led us around the store and showed us exactly what I’d need to build my table! It was like having a personal shopper!
I’d highly recommend this store to anyone looking for anything home-​related. Personalized service like I got is so rare nowadays, but refreshing when you find it!
