Hotel Indigo Basking Ridge – Warren

Like the modern look, friendly staff and the neighboring restaurants. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and made you feel like you were staying at an old friends place. TV very easy to use and hook up your blu-​Ray player though we did have some trouble with the blu ray player wifi, though this was quickly resolved by calling their technical support. Highly recommended for the great price and wonderful service.

Wow. Judging by the nastiness of their front desk receptionist we will not be staying here.

Worst experience ever at the Dead River Pub in the Basking Ridge Indigo Hotel. We had 2 coupons, buy one entrée get one free at equal or lesser price, with no expiration date. Apparently the hotel changed hands but the pub manager Stephanie, said she would honor the coupons.
I ordered 2 steaks which means I get 1 for free and friend ordered 2 sandwiches so shed get 1 sandwich for free. (Kids were w us!) Allllll of the sudden Stephanie now wouldn’t honor our coupons and said she’d only give us the 2 (cheaper) sandwiches. THEN STEPHANIE CALLED US SCAMMERS. SHE SAID ‘YOU’RE TRYING TO SCAM US.‘
HER boss came out and said he’d do it ‘our’ way if we sat at different tables.
As someone who eats out ¾ times a week, I have never been so offended or in disbelief as I was today.
I would rate the pub a ZERO for rudeness and stupidity if there was that option.

Traveling from MA to NC and found this hotel on Hotwire. It was listed as a «boutique hotel.» Very pleased at $ 57/​night. Almost did not eat at the restaurant (The Dead River Pub) because no reviews. However we decided to and were again — very pleased. Excellent soup, salad and sandwich. As importantly, the fries were excellent. Also, contrary to some other reviews, our room was great and comfortable. We’d recommend this hotel.

I live in North Carolina and frequently visit the Westfield /​Plainfield area as I have relatives there. I have stayed in many hotels in the area with higher ratings and have been disappointed for various reasons. However, the Hotel Indigo far exceeded these other hotels on all aspects. The hotel is very attractive and the rooms are spacious, pleasantly designed, clean and equipped with all of the expected comforts (Keurig coffee maker, iron and board, blow dryer, flat screen tv with cable, large desk with pull out table for in-​room dining, free wifi, etc.). The bathroom was very modern with a detachable shower head in the rain water fashion and stationary glass partition. The customer service of the staff was attentive and accommodating. While this is a boutique hotel, they still offered everything larger hotels offer (i.e. business center, fitness center, restaurant, room service, snacks for purchase, etc.). In addition to free parking, the Hotel Indigo is pet friendly and offers free treats for pets. With all of these great attributes, the hotel is located in a very nice area and just a few minutes off the 78 freeway. There’s also a Starbucks and a couple of upscale restaurants within 5 minutes of the hotel. Overall, I’d definitely be a repeat customer and will not stay anywhere else.

The facility is OK. Staff are friendly.
Rooms are cold. The bathroom is the coldest bathroom I’ve ever experienced in 20 years of business travel.
It was a two-​star stay until days after I returned home from my stay. My client was to be direct billed for my room. My bill at check-​out had only my room service charges, as expected. A week after I got home I found the hotel had BILLED ME FOR THE STAY — without notification.
I’ve never had that happen. The client apologized and reimbursed my charges — but the issue is with the hotel’s decision to bill me long after I departed their facility.
Stay away, far away.

I worked in New York City for 3 months and until I could find a place to live I would stay in hotels. I spent many of my weekends at this wonderful hotel. Being a native Texan, I enjoyed the «home away from home» feel and that it was away from the city. As for the hotel itself I would best describe it as a countryside oasis. Modern/​renovated interior, updated beds, and a very clean/​nice lobby. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel

We stay here several times a year while visiting family. It is simple, straightforward, nothing fancy but quite adequate. I like the fact that it does not feel like a big chain hotel. Simple inexpensive breakfasts — simple bar, nice patio outside when the weather is fine.

Not a great hotel anyway, now they have a 2 day mandatory stay requirement for business travelers. Otherwise would be a 3 because you can usually get in there for less than other local hotels and its reasonably clean. The wood floors going clip clop in the night, showers that submerge the bathroom floor and a bar that closes at 10. Bye bye I wont miss you.

This hotel is about a mile off I78 and can be a challenge to find. The Colonial exterior is a nice change from the trend of Vegas-​style hotels you find everywhere. The staff is pleasant on the phone and in person.
The room we had was large and comfortable. Plenty of room to not bump into each other. Heat worked well. The flat panel TV was good and had HD channels. I’m not a fan of the walk-​in shower — too much water on the floor outside of the shower.
My one complaint about this hotel is the wireless internet connection. We live in a time of high speed internet. The wireless in this hotel averaged 18Mbps. This is unacceptable service. If you expect to do any kind of connection to your work, you will be frustrated.

I had my block of rooms here for my wedding and Hotel Indigo fell short in my eyes. I’m writing this from the bride’s perspective because that what I was for the weekend. :)
First I’ll cover the pros (cause I’m a nice person):
— Gorgeous and spacious rooms
— Block room rate was quite reasonable (109 a night) and included breakfast for all guests the next day
— Speaking of breakfast, it was damn good! Eggs, bacon, sausage, etc!
— Since we had to get ready in the room early, we couldn’t do brunch the morning of the wedding. We were allowed to bring stuff up to the room and they even had someone bring us coffee, tea, water, and other goodies to save us trips. Super cool of them!!!
— Since we booked 10 rooms, we got the bridal suite for free for a night. My husband booked the bridal suite for me to stay in the night before and we were given the 109 rate, too. Sweet deal!
— The bridal suite we had was GIANT! Lots of room for getting ready. Oh and there’s a hot tub!
— It’s also a pet friendly hotel, which is a huge perk for some folks I know with 4 legged friends!
Now onto the cons (because I may be nice, but I’m also honest):
— We were working with one woman for the start on our hotel block but then magically found out a few weeks prior that we were now working with someone else. Both were great to work with but a little heads up would’ve been great. Hotel issues were the LAST thing I wanted to worry about.
— The walls are EXTREMELY thin. You could hear stuff outside and people just walking down the hallway. The hotel (although very much updated inside) is still a pretty old building, which is probably why sound travels so easily.
— You need to give them an exact count for guests for the shuttle. I believe they’re kind of limited in shuttles and they won’t do tons of runs for you due to this. We thankfully had no issues with the shuttles, but I definitely want to give those bigger weddings a heads up!
— The bartender was a bonafied asshole. There. I said it! The rudest person I’ve ever had to deal with in the service industry by far. My wedding guests and I came to the bar after my wedding around 7 or 8pm. The hotel knew we’d be there after the wedding but for some reason, they were short staffed (shit happens I get it but it just seemed a bit strange for a Saturday evening with a couple of wedding parties at the hotel). The bartender was the only guy running the bar and also doing other stuff (like room service), so I completely get why he was frazzled. However, that doesn’t mean he can be a complete douchebag to paying customers. Case in point? My wedding guests (who are a diverse group of friendly folks that are all now paying guests at his bar that would’ve been empty without us) all wanted a round of shots to celebrate a fun-​filled day. His response? «WELL you know… Our shots here are VERY expensive SO you might want to rethink that…» We were all baffled. Anything we asked for (like a beer or a napkin) was a chore to this guy and although we were all cool with him (and had money to give him), he seemed to despise us. Truly a disappointment after such a fun day.
— On my wedding night (yes you read that correctly… my wedding night!), the front desk called our room to tell me that someone complained about my guests being loud and of «smells» in the hallway. I’m sorry… but on my wedding night, I dont want to be bothered. At ALL! I’m disappointed that the hotel staff didn’t handle potential issues with the individuals at fault. Nope… They just decided to throw a wrench into the evening by giving us a call. My guests (well…ALL of their hotel guests, really!) are adults and can be treated as such. When we went down to the bar later, we told reception that although we appreciated the heads up to just speak with our guests directly from now on. It was definitely annoying that we had to even do that, but we didn’t have any issues after that. Just a heads up (especially for brides and grooms to be) with hotel blocks.
That’s about it, really. It was a nice place but I definitely wouldn’t stay there again. The hotel itself was really pretty/​upscale, but the cons pretty much destroyed the chances of this place getting more than 2 stars in my eyes. If we had other options in the area for our block, we would’ve gone with them instead. Take my advice: Book your hotel block early (and somewhere else if you can)! If you have to book here, keep my cons in mind and good luck!!!

Boring. Nothing special. Room had wood floors and was cramped and cold. Staff was underwhelming. Far away from civilization too.

Very good service here — you can tell it has good management. Good enough rooms. I would stay again.

I really enjoyed staying here last weekend when I was in town for a wedding. My room was clean, well stocked, and quiet, with an incredibly comfortable bed. I do second what the other reviewer said about the bathroom — attractive but flawed design. I enjoyed the included morning breakfast and valued even more the fact that getting late checkout was less complicated than saying thanks.

Stayed a couple nights on business. Decent, functional, clean, good overall. Nice bar manager and beverage director — dinner served 5 – 10 pretty good food. Work being done on building and saw a ladybug and spider in my room — probably escaping from snow.

For 1 or 2 days it s ok but for more days… I ve found the bigest bug I ve ever seen in my bedroom. Never take a room at the first floor near the wood.
The restaurant is ok.

The elevators seem unsafe and the floors seem uneven.
The rooms themselves are fairly nice except for one glaring issue. The shower in the bathroom although aesthetically pleasing are designed specifically to allow water to get all over the bathroom floor. A walk in shower is awesome in a nice big bathroom in a home but stick to the tubs in a hotel. Someone is going to slip fall and sue this place.

I stayed one night while on business. Found all to be acceptable, nothing spectatular. Room was comfortable, spacious and functional. I arrived late in evening so enjoyed a burger at the bar, which was nice and the bar manager was very likable.
My deal included free breakfast but while the service people were very attentive the actual buffet food was not very appealing. My price was a corporate rate so not sure how general rates stand up.

Place was lame.

I guess you get what you pay for, and this place was really inexpensive. Think I’ll try a different spot next trip — this place has good service, but the rooms/​amenities are worth skipping.
