Pupcakes and Pawstries Barkery & Shoppe

This is my favorite pet store to stop in when visiting family in NJ. The owner is super nice, and his selection is great.

Neat business. Yes, they do offer dog friendly snacks — that look just as good, or even better, than human food on a cheat day. However, given the name of the business I seriously thought that was all they did. Not that this is a bad thing but rather I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are a high quality pet shop with the usual wears to cover all of your doggie’s needs and desires.

Totally loved this place especially the owner. He was so knowledgeable and made me feel so welcomed.

Best dog store ever. The owner Paul is wonderful and treats our pit mix like a king. We can’t even say «barkery» in our house anymore, because our pup starts whining and running to the door. He can’t wait to get to Pupcakes! There’s always something new in the toy bin and the barkery case is full of delicious treats like bacon cheeseburger balls or BLT bones. 5 stars just isn’t enough!

I only write reviews if I’m extremely impressed or extremely disappointed. This place is seriously wonderful! I went there yesterday to cheer my dog up from going to the vet. The owner went right up to my dog gave him a treat introduced himself and was extremely knowledgable. It was nice walking into a store owned by someone who truly has passion for what he does. I typically go to petvalu in long hill and have some teenager that just stands behind the counter and says less than 3 words ring me up. We spoke to the owner of p&p for almost 40 mins. He gave us great tips and even a free bag of dog food to try! I really recommend going there for treats, food, toys, or even just to get useful information about your breed!

this place is amazing! the treats look just like a real bakery and include favorites like cannoli, and cheese cake, as well as the traditional «smiley face» emocon faces. they also have wide variety of toys. crinkly toys, rope toys, stuffed animals… then there are food bowls, coats, leashes… and the owner is very pleasant. he played with my dog and gave her small treats. my dog pesto really had a good time and is enjoying the treats. i am very much looking forward to my next trip. :)

wanted to do something fun with our pup one random weekend so we brought him here. He loved it and the employee there was VERY friendly and knowledgeable, and paid special attention to us and our pup. Everything we picked up from here he loved, too. such a cute place.

Ok, I’ll admit it now… I am a total sucker for places like this. We stopped in here the other day after shopping at O2 Sports and it couldn’t have been a better experience. As we walked in we were greeted by the owner’s sister and her little dog Buddy. She asked if we’d been there before (we hadn’t) and proceeded to tell us about their bakery/​Barkery where they make all the treats for the dogs. All the stuff looked great-​my wife even joked that it looked and smelled good enough to eat herself and we were told that they actually do have to taste the items… and that there isn’t anything in there that wouldn’t be good enough for us to eat.
We bought our two dogs some very tasty looking bone shaped biscuits (one beef and one chicken) and when we got home and gave them to the dogs it was like me going at a table full of Maryland crabs-​they absolutely attacked the treats with gusto! Besides the food Pupcakes and Pawstries has all sorts of dog related products-​leashes, collars, pictures, beds, bulk food, etc. If I lived in the area I’d be happy to support this local business-​and anytime I’m in the area I will surely stop in… anything for my dogs. Love this place.

The treats that are made on site are beautiful and, more importantly, my dogs loved all 3 of the ones that I purchased for them to try… and the cost didn’t break the bank. It’s nice to know that there’s a place in town where I can get healthy, delicious and fresh treats for the pooches. I highly recommend it.

This is such an adorable store! My sister and mom had been here on quite a few occasions, but today was my first visit. The owner is so friendly and helpful. They have a great variety of treats (including the most beautiful dog biscuits I have ever seen!) and other goods for your dog. The prices are reasonable, and they carry natural and organic products. I definitely recommend stopping in and supporting this great local business.
