Some pretty rude employees at the checkouts. Produce section is pretty good and the deli is good. Not my favorite grocery store but there’s not a whole lot of other choices in the area.

I normally always go to Jewel for lunch meat because I love the deli counter. It blows Woodman’s deli counter out of the water. The associates are always very helpful. This past weekend(Sunday) i went and bought my daughter lunch meat. I always buy Sara Lee low sodium chicken or turkey breast. It had slim all over the one edge. I ended up throwing away the food I just purchased.

Standard grocery store, shop here due to location. Produce is always a hunt and peck, some good some bad. Overall pricey but decent selections. The pharmacy is excellent and the reason I scored this location a 3 star instead of 2. Pharmacy personnel are knowledgeable and very attentive.

This Jewel has a very nice garden section set up every season. The associates do a very good job taking care of all the plants. Much better than places like Walmart, where the plants are left to sit out, and dry up. I have to commend Jewel for the way they hire folks with special needs. I have a family member who works at Jewel, and I see how well they are treated there. I see that a previous reviewer has made some ignorant, and derogatory comments about the special needs people at Jewel. I could make some nasty comments to this individual, but I feel that ignorant people like this deserve to be ignored. Judging from all the misspelled words in her review, she isn’t exactly a very educated person herself.

It’s a rare occasion when Jewel is a destination of choice in my world. I know what I like and where to find it… rarely at Jewel! The exception would be the Saturday prior to Easter Sunday. They sell«Chiappetti Lamb» a Chicago Icon dating back to the original stockyards. I am a frequent flyer when it comes to cooking lamb on a live coal rotisserie. My normal go to place for boneless leg of lamb(Family Foods Warrenville) sells Chiappetti brand year round… EXCEPT prior to Easter when they decide to sell some New Zealand crap. Jewel only sells it twice a year, Easter and Christmas. How screwed up is that? Bottom line; when cooking a roast leg of lamb in the oven the bone adds flavor. When cooking on a live coal rotisserie… the bone is a problem. The label clearly specifies«Boneless»…it was not! This has happened before. The meat department here has always been questionable… they just put in their hours. *** Please note this review has no problems with Chiappetti Meats, just the bungles and botches associated with Jewel Butchers I have a theory here but this is Jewel and who really cares? One star for the butcher, a second star for the corporate exec that actually realized the Jewel«Preferred Card» was a marketing embarrassment and nixed it! Take note Walgreens!

Jewel-Osco does it all. Great produce, nice general selection, fair prices, excellent pharmacy, and helpful employees across the store. I normally don’t review grocery stores, but maybe this will help someone just moving into the area. The store is a size that is easy to navigate. They’ve got a good bakery too. Plenty of parking in a lot shared by other stores, and we can get a few things done in the area all at once between our grocery and pharmacy stuff, the Subway shop and dry cleaners, and the Mobil gas across Main Street.

Though convenient for me to get to, I prefer Super Target for their cheaper prices. I do, though, prefer Jewel’s deli and desserts — they also make some mean fried chicken. Friendly service, but I just can’t get past the prices.

my basic go to store since the have everthing & Redbox inside, You know they hire half wits to bag your groceries. Try to hit the self serve when possible! Well, while trying to ck out & make sure everyting is getiing charged right these dim wits ASWECALLTHEMJUSTBEPOLITE are babbling on about their ADD and Anti-psycotic meds & maybe my purchase items would help. TMI. Personel-mangtment needs to nip this talking of inappropriate items in the bud. These morons probaby live ok on disability. Get some fresh kids in here that need a job! Pan to me in the parking lot chasing all my groceries in the parking & under my car because some Retard got hired a Jewel! BAGYOUROWN Stuff

This Jewel Osco rocks because we bought some white peaches and they were SUPERSWEET and delicious!!! We did self check out and it had a conveyer belt so all your products move to the end of the counter so that you can bag it after you’ve finished scanning everything. This is waaaay better than the self checkout at the Jewel I live by. You dont have to deal with bagging and weighing your products immediately after scanning it. My biggest pet peeve about self checkouts at Jewel is the machine saying to me «Unexpected item in the bagging area.» !!! All other Jewel Osco should follow this one!
