The Bionic Resistance Shorts (BRS) concept was created in 2006 by Adrian Cornish, a former standout track and field athlete who believed there was a better way to harness the power of continual resistance for performance training. Because the initial prototype incorporated metal rods along each thigh, the name Bionic Resistance Suit was born, and was later changed to the Bionic Resistance Shorts to reflect the actual product. After hundreds of hours of prototyping and testing, the concept evolved to become a user-​friendly compression shorts that provides a much higher degree of resistance — with results that promise to be every bit as «bionic» as the name indicates. In 2013, Adrian partnered with Baton Rouge businessman Nathan Roy to form APEX Resistance and Conditioning, LLC to further develop, test and market the breakthrough training device. APEX’s slogan is The Science of Movement, which was derived after collaborating with LSU School of Kinesiology to test the effects of the BRS on the body. Efficiently designed, the BRS is the culmination of all the effective exercise equipment on the market, in one simple design; thus making exercise more efficient and convenient.
