Description

Specialties

Preparing for a career in cosmetology requires more than a textbook and a mannequin. It requires a strong, diverse clinic base, an emphasis on attitude and professionalism, and the advantage of learning from experienced instructors and guest speakers.

Want to maximize your earning potential? Our cosmetology students not only learn to cut, style, and color hair but also have the opportunity to learn nails, professional makeup skills including airbrush makeup, as well as skin care in our esthetics department. In our past calendar year, our students have done the hair and makeup for runway models in the Fairhope Fashion Fête’ as well as the Ronald McDonald House Charities Little Black Dress event, the national finals for the Distinguished Young Women scholarship competition, as well as The Walking Dead Escape.

If your passion is skin care, our Esthetics course is one of the best in the entire state. Students in our Esthetics course learn skin care, makeup, waxing, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and LED Light Therapy. After licensing, they get their choice of a large rolling kit full of makeup or their own microdermabrasion machine.

**high school juniors and seniors can now take the freshman part of the Cos Course at DJays and get high school credit as well as hours towards a cosmetology license through the Supplemental Course Academy. If you know anybody interested, have them contact their high school for details!**
