The atmosphere is great, and the food is delightful, but the overall system can be very confusing for newcomers. There’s a buffet-style line that you place your order at the start of. You then proceed through this line regardless if you need anything from it or not. You are prompted to grab a tray and plate, though when you reach the end to pay, you’ll have nothing on it and they’ll then bring the food out to your table. Too much confusion just to order your food.

Solid if not spectacular place for a light meal and/or desserts galore and coffee if you choose. Love the combos you can order too to get a taste of a few things together. Not for the faint of heart if you are on a diet is it is hard to see all the rich entrée type items and also be assaulted by the sweets out front. It’s just not fair. ;0) I had a two salad and cup of soup combo on our latest trip in and loved the salads but thought the French onion soup could have been better. Not visually appealing was one of the things I did not like so much. Wife had mushroom soup and half sandwich which she deemed to be a tasty treat. Escaping for under $ 22 and pleasingly full we did not partake of the sweets this time in. Likely to return at some point for sure. To get to four star? Don’t know but stay tuned.

Such a good breakfast, lunch, brunch spot. There’s a wonderful atmosphere, the staff is alert and will notice if you’re just standing there waiting for something. Saw the manager comp a meal plus more, with a guest that had gotten a wrong order and been waiting for a long time! This was my first time at this location and the layout of the place is a bit confusing because there are so many different rooms, but that’s a good and essential aspect to preserve the intimacy of the place. I got the Chicken La Madeline with a caesar salad. I was hoping to get the Mediterranean pasta because I sneaked a peak at the online menu before arriving, but it is actually a rice dish here. Was a little disappointed, but the chicken la Madeline was pretty good. I think it could’ve used some more salt or garlic. And because of my salad, I was only able to eat half and feed the rest to a hungry soul at home. Menu items were reasonably priced, service was quick. Really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back.

I’ve been to La Madeline’s probably about 6 or 7 times, and I honestly still don’t really know how it works. The woman who took our order was very nice and sweet. She apologized for her device running slow and there were no problems. However, when we entered the line for the salad bar area, the woman just stared at us. She then proceeded to give me attitude when I said I had a salad. She looked at me like I was stupid, and I did NOT appreciate that. She was extremely rude, and it was unnecessary.

This place is just delightful. They have a lot of pastry options for breakfast but my favorite meal here is lunch. The Croque Monsieur with a side of Tomato Basil Soupe is a full day’s worth of calories and TOTALLY worth it. Healthier(and almost equally delicious) alternatives include their Pasta Salad, Caesar salad, and sandwiches. I have yet to try their entrees but will on a cheat day in the near future. Tip: this place can be a bit confusing if its your first visit. It’s semi-cafeteria style, so grab a menu and decide what you’d like before you get in the queue. Servers will bring out your food if it’s not readily available.

When you’re feeling down, nothing like a delicious bowl of Tomato Basil soup topped with heaping spoons full of sharp cheddar and/or mozzaella cheese! I got the Chicken La Madeline, which was a disappoint to me. The herbs they used to cook the rice Provençal overpowered the rice. Maybe a heavy hand when adding the seasoning? And the chicken was too dry despite the mushroom sauce on it. The mini parfaits we got at the end… yeah, I forgot to take pics but I will tell you: it was delicious! Creamy, sweet and satisfying! :) Of course, you also get an endless choice of toast/bread with your entrée

Stopped in today to carry out lunch. I was greeted immediately, placed quickly after, was told it would take 5 – 10 minutes to get me my food. And then it took twenty minutes. I ordered a french dip sandwich and the sacher tart. The French dip was okay, meat was good and the cheese was melty, but the onions were undercooked, which I have done without. The French bread the sandwich came on was delicious though! The man at the counter did sub in a Caesar salad when I didn’t want chips or pasta salad, which I greatly appreciated! The sacher tart was just eh okay. More cake than mousse and a bit dry. I’d be willing to give it another go if the prices were cheaper. $ 9 for a mediocre sandwich and side salad seems a bit steep.

If you enjoy waiting 45 minutes for French toast and Eggs and having the rest of your party already have their food in to-go boxes before you take your first bite you’re gonna love this place

Mediocre country French fare. Rude/incompetent service. Better options in BR for sure.

The food was amazing! I had a big pecan and cranberry Wildfield green salad… It was huge and yummy not too much dressing. My husband had the eggs Benedict and they were some of the best eggs Benedict we have ever had. I think having the perfectly fried bacon with the eggs made it the best ever. They should have five stars for the food. Service was fast but the restaurant was not especially neat. It looks like they were stuck slightly understaffed.

I stopped in today for a light lunch after doing some shopping on the Rowe. I ordered a cup of tomato basil soup and a lemon tart. Soup is super creamy and has a bursting flavor of tomato and basil. The lemon tart was ordinary. To be honest, I was let down by my dessert. I prefer a tart with a strong taste of lemon. I could barely taste the lemon flavor. I really love their bread selections, especially for dipping in my soup. However, today there wasn’t much to chose from. Everything looked liked it had been picked over and crumbs were left. The atmosphere was great. Very quite and seriously cozy. Today they were very slow with lack of customers, it was a rainy day. The lady behind the counter didn’t even see me for about three minutes because she was playing on her phone… Overall, not a bad experience. Although, I’ve had much better ones there.

Went in for a snack between meals. Was not expecting cafeteria style ordering, but I went with it. I ordered the tomato basil soup and a spinach croissant. The croissant was a little pricy, but it was good. The soup was very good. I am not a bit tomato soup fan, but I will get this again! It was a bit confusing to order with several counter’s to choose from. I was not sure where I was supposed to be. I followed the crowd and figured it out. All of the silverware stations were out of forks, and low on knives. Plenty of spoons though. And the person behind the counter was new. It was his second day and he was back there alone. He could not answer any of my questions about the items on the menu or the new items being advertised on the boards. I will be back for the soup. Jury is still out on the rest of the items.

Always a fav relaxing place to eat on a road trip! The Tomato Basil soup and the Strawberries Romanoff are a MUST! They NEVER get old! The Country Breakfast is also melt in your mouth! It’s wonderful to eat at any time of the day since they serve it all day! Their coffee is wonderful as well, and that’s saying a lot because I’m not a big hot coffee drinker.

I decided to stop by for something sweet and light with my partner. We were greeted with a very friendly and cheerful«BonJour!» Which means«Hello!» In French. That was just amazing and that set the calm atmosphere for the French country style café. It was around 3pm so it wasn’t that busy at all. We decided to go for the Strawberry Cheese Cake Parfait, Fruit Parfait and got a large Fruit tart to go. The parfaits cost $ 1.99 each while the fruit tart cost $ 4.99. We dined in so she placed the parfaits on a plate for us and gave us two spoons, then we went to go pick a nice cozy spot in a corner near a window. The restaurant was clean. The décor was nice. Service was amazing. Onto the parfait tasting. The strawberries were sweet but still kept had the fresh tartness to it. The crumble on the cheese cake and the cream cheese was to die for. The fruit parfait was layered with vanilla yogurt /strawberries /yogurt /mandarin orange wedges /yogurt /blueberries. It tasted so sweet, tart, light and refreshing. I will surely come again.

I dropped by La Madeleine for a quick bite today but after seeing the line I ended up just going with a pastry. I went with a chocolate croissant that tasted fresher than it looked. It wasn’t overwhelmingly chocolatey but still had a nice sweetness to it. Overall, not the best croissant I’ve ever had… but still pretty good.

I’ll start by saying the ordering process here is really convoluted! However, when you get that figured out, La Madeleine is a pleasant place for breakfast and lunch. I’ve been here 3 times now and each time, I’ve not ordered correctly. I would love to give you pointers on what to do, but I’m not so sure. I’ve had the Caesar Salad, the Caesar Salad SANDWICH, a potato galette, and the Cream of Mushroom Soup. It was all delicious!

This place was a winner for me. After we figured out how to order(no-one was up front when we came in) the rest was pretty smooth. Do yourself a favor and order the cream of mushroom soup. Definitely one of the best I ever had. The strawberries and cream were also very good. I found their coffee to be a little bitter or scalded tasting. I will be back to give some of the other dishes a try

I’ve only been here for dinner and I almost always get the same thing. Nutricion information is online which is a plus. I got the chicken Caesar salad with a small potato soup. You really can’t go wrong with that order. Ever. My friend got a pasta that had tomato sauce that I didn’t really care for. Staff is very friendly and nice. The place is clean which is nice too. The only thing is I feel awkward when I sit down with my food and my friend has to wait on hers Because she orders something that has to be cooked. Plus it’s kind of expensive for what I got in my personal opinion.

The place is a little smelly — they have this weird funky odor the moment you walk in. I have only always done take out here, and boy does it take time! I usually go in late on a weekday after work to pick up dinner and I have had to hunt down someone to process my request since the host stand is always empty! The food itself is sort of mediocre — my quiche was ok and the salad was super bland, even with the dressing on. I prefer going over to CPK for my dinner salads usually, just because they tend to be more flavorful.

Of course I am in strong favor of their signature Tomato Basil soup. I would order the soup during every visit of mine. Unfortunately, I was not too thrilled when I started to see jars of the Tomato Basil soup for sale at places like Sam’s Club… I was shocked. After seeing that, it did no longer felt special for me to visit the restaurant and order the soup. I also ordered the Crêpe Romanoff, which was a huge disappointment! I make crepes from scratch at home and they are pretty good, so I wanted to try the restaurant’s crepes in hopes I would be blown away… but no wind… no wind at all. The crêpe was lifeless… looked and tasted like it was made with frozen strawberries. La Madeleine — let me know if you need some tips on how to make a good crêpe! People would flock to my door, when I make them… LOL!
