Supporting Adoption in Louisiana for Over 20 Years
History
Established in 1988.
As a graduate of Louisiana State University and the owner and manager of a successful construction company, Hays Town had long been a prominent member of the Baton Rouge community. He was very involved with the community and felt like he needed to give something back. With encouragement from his colleague Dr. Richard Tannehill, Hays Town founded St. Elizabeth Foundation in 1988. He remains President of the Foundation to this day.
Lillie Petit Gallagher joined the Foundation at the very beginning and served as its longtime director (from 1988 to 2004 and 2009 – 2010). Mrs. Gallagher remains on the St. Elizabeth board as Director Emerita, and Teri James Casso now serves as the Foundation’s day-to-day Director.
Ever since its establishment in 1988, St. Elizabeth Foundation has always maintained a special focus on caring for the birth mother and putting her needs first. They are proud to continue this tradition today.
