Style Encore

Great shop! Ladies are so very nice and professional. Love selling with them!

This place is located right next to Plato’s Closet. They sell higher end consignment pieces ranging from Coach to Kate Spade, Talbot to Jessica Simpson. I heard they started carrying plus sizes, so came I back to check out their inventories.
Just like the first time, I felt unwanted. The last time, I thought maybe it was because they were busy closing up. I receive the same unwelcome vibe today when I walked in, and the 2 associates behind the counter didn’t even bother to turn around. The 3^rd associate asked a quick question if I was selling or buying; but wouldn’t look me in the eyes. I’m not a picky person, but I believe the standard greeting for ANY retail store is fundamental. I don’t believe I was underdressed; I was dressed in business casual. Unless, they feel they only cater to a specific type of customer.
The place is clean and have expanded since my first visit. If you’re looking for a few things at a good price, you might want to check it out.
I overheard one of their policy rule:
A female customer asked if they will call her to pick up the items once they go through it to see what they will accept.
Associate by the name Maggie replied, «We will give you a time frame to come back. However, if you don’t come back before we close… we will keep your items and give you a store credit at our discretion.»
Wait…what!!!

So, I have been to this store numerous times, there is definitely a difference depending on the employee helping that day. This past time was just odd. They didn’t take any of the new clothes or shoes I brought, all mid level designer, but took older linen shorts and a couple small tanks. Which hey, that’s okay, and I found a GREAT VINCE dress! What is bothersome to me is, I’m in Houston right now, took the items they didn’t want to a style encore here, and they bought just about everything minus one pair of shorts and a top missing a button (my fault for not catching.). As I think back, in the BR style encore you have visibly USED shoes from Catos, but you don’t want brand new shoes from Nina, Steve Madden, Kenneth Cole???
It’s a nice store, always clean, nice music, and there are two workers who are always a joy, will I be back to look around, of course, will I bring back any clothes to sell again, probably not, the ladies in Houston said I was welcome anytime!

I visited the store today. I was browsing and looking for summer sandals. I wasn’t too pleased with my welcome. The workers never looked up nor did they greet me. I stayed in the store about ten minutes. I even tried on some shoes. Two customers came in store after me and was greeted with a pleasant welcome. I was very disappointed, and I walked out. I went to Marshal’s and spent my money there.

This place can be hit or miss, depending on what you’re looking for and whether they carry your size. Unfortunate for me, their XS selection is very limited compared to their other sizes. I looked through their dresses and most of those categorized under «small» were way too big for me. Just not my luck.
They do have plenty of variety; the store is extremely well organized and I love how their put like colors together. Their prices aren’t bad at all, and you can find plenty of clothes with their tags still on. Give them a try, I hope you have more luck than me.

Only problem is that there are Tooo many good finds making it hard to self discipline! The people are very friendly and helpful making for an overall very pleasant experience.

Three stars because I was totally bummed with the selling process as they rejected nearly all of mine and wasn’t 100% impressed with the clothing they were selling. Also, I felt very well attended to while I shopped, but when I first walked in to sell, I got a rude vibe. Perhaps they were already assuming my clothes weren’t gonna sell — eeks!
So with this being my first time here, I can say that I will likely return and have learned a lesson in their buying process. I won’t go for something specific to buy as you never know what you’ll find at a secondhand shop, but just to find some cute shoes or accessories, I’m sure I’ll find something as I did tonight.

I had a really great shopping experience at Style Encore! The staff was very helpful and friendly, including alerting me to several coupons/​discounts I could take advantage of on the spot! They frequently checked on me as I was shopping to see if I needed any assistance.
The store was very neat and tidy, which is something I greatly appreciate in consignment shops. Sometimes, it can be hard to find things, but not at Style Encore! Also, the fitting rooms were great! I often have problems keeping up with clothes I still need to try on, clothes that worked, clothes that didn’t work, etc. without having to resort to putting things on the floor. They’d installed plenty of hooks and a grid-​type rack in the fitting room, which allowed me to hang several stacks of clothes in an organized fashion. It really made my «OCD» happy!

Purses, shoes, jewelry, belts, sunglasses, clothes, you name it they have it. And at a reasonable price. I really love how the store is very organized AND organized by color. The purses look brand new, so do a lot of the shoes and some of the clothes even have the tags still on them. I only had an hour to look around and found 10 things but unfortunately only 1 of them fit but that’s how it usually goes for me everywhere I shop. I’m definitely going to go back when I at least have a couple of more hours to shop so I can try on some more clothes and some shoes too. The employees were really nice and helpful too. Come check it out, this store has something for everybody and I promise you won’t leave empty handed. When you drop by just make sure you have more than an hour though because I felt an hour wasn’t enough time to look at everything.

Oh yes, and the employees were so kind and were so helpful with any questions I had. It’s always nice to be surrounded by people that love their job and are excited to assist customers. There are not enough words to describe my experience at this store and how it will now be on top of my list for go-​to shopping for dresses and work clothes. Even though this is categorized as a re-​sale store, there were still many articles of clothing I saw that still have price tags on them. The price tag on some of the clothes just blew me away! Oh yes, they are just that good. You have some items lingering in your closet you want sell? Bring it over to them to make some money, too!
