History

Established in 1998.

In 1995 on an antique buying trip in England, we found a flag of the British royal family. This flag, in British terms, is known as the royal standard. We adopted this name, and our company, The Royal Standard, began. We travel throughout Europe and the world in search of inspiration to design unique accessories for you and your home. Our product mix ranges from fashion accessories to home décor and from holiday decorations to entertaining essentials for hosting the perfect gathering.

The Royal Standard opened its first retail store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1998. A second and then a third store soon followed. During the years that ensued, we had numerous requests to wholesale our products. In 2009, we opened a wholesale showroom in Atlanta and then opened subsequent showrooms in Dallas, Las Vegas and Birmingham. Today we have customers across the US and several foreign countries who share our love of classic modern accessories.

I just fell in love with this store!
I am a Houstonian. The store recently had a booth at our annual holiday market in Houston — The Nutcracker Market. I vowed that next time I was in Baton Rouge I’d have to visit the real deal! And I didn’t break my promise to myself!
I was in for such a treat! I didn’t buy much but I could spend hours and hours in the store browsing their many rooms. What doesn’t this store offer??? It’s a wonderland of fun for ladies! You can find gifts for yourself or loved ones ranging from clothes, jewelry, houseware, lotions, purses, jewelry bags, mugs, wedding gifts, candles, LSU attire, blankets, children’s clothing holiday items (depending on th holiday — as they were switching out their Christmas inventory to Mardi Gras). I’m telling you — rooms and rooms of countless option of any occasion! The employees were very helpful and answered a few questions I had about their jewelry.
Mind you, a lot of their stuff is made in China (what isn’t these days). Just be a smart consumer on what you are purchasing.
I wish I had had more time to spend at the store, as I was visiting a friend and we were on limited time.
Definitely a worthwhile place to just check out and window shop! You won’t be disappointed!

«Home décor, clothing, accessories, kids clothes, holiday ornaments, seasonal, gifts». This store offers so much! I absolutely coming here and it can seriously become an addiction! The store is just so inviting, decorated so beautifully, smells like holiday spirit and the customer service is excellent. In addition to all of this loveliness, the prices are affordable… one would think that with the name «Royal Standard» that only the super wealthy can shop here… debunked! There is something at this store for everyone and take some time to shop and look around because the store is deep… it goes on for days! I love the rooms and all the the eye-​catching, sparkly and unique items they have. When they have sale items, take advantage of them because the prices are out-​of-​this-​world. I can seriously buy gifts for 10 people and spend under $ 100, when they have sales. You wonder about quality… well it’s high quality… not cheapo stuff at all. Style? They have plenty of it… very modern and super hip… fit for a queen and king!
The Royal Standard is definitely on the top of my list for local shopping!

So disappointed in the changes. For years, this was my go-​to place for quality, classy gifts. Now the whole front room is filled with dollar store jewelry, cheaply made clothes and crosses everywhere you turn. What happened? New owners?

I love to browse little places like this. The last time I went they had a crazy sale on jewellery. There were nice pieces for $ 2. This is definitely a good place to buy gifts. There is another royal standard further down Perkins that has a larger selection including some nice furniture.
