I’ve been a patient, along with all my family members, of Dr. McDaniel for a few years now and cannot give anything but an exceptional review for him and his staff. Dr. McDaniel explains every step of the way what he is going to do and how it impacts your total health, not just your mouth. He and his staff will take the time to be sure that you completely understand your current situation and its impact. He lets you asks all the questions you want and thoroughly explains in terms that you can understand (in addition to the professional lingo if you’re interested)!
I switched to Dr. McDaniel from another local dentist because the other dentist wanted to do a procedure/​modifications that I didn’t think were necessary. Dr. McDaniel assured me that the goal is to keep me with what I’ve got as long as possible. He takes the conservative approach and doesn’t sell you services that you could do without.
He and the staff are very professional and I would recommend this practice anytime.

My experience with Dr. McDaniel and his office started off well but turned into a nightmare. I initially saw him as a follow up to a root canal. he removed the packing and filled my crown. I needed quite a lot of restorative work and made 2 appointments that I had to cancel because of a severe illness. We communicated on it and I apologized profusely… the upshot of it being Dr. McDaniel said he understood and I would of course remain one of his patients. Shortly after that my husband was laid off from his auto industry related job… we suffered some real money hardship and I was unable to go back to the dentist. That was 3 years ago. A few weeks ago I chipped the side off a molar, it got infected over the Memorial Day weekend, luckily my medical doctor’s office is open weekends so I went there for triage. he gave me penicillin and pain pills… by this time it was very painful and swollen. He told me to get to the dentist asap. At this point my face was so swollen that my eye was shut and I had a fever. Soon as the holiday weekend was over I called Dr. McDaniel’s office to make an appt. I told the receptionist the whole story including the fever, infection, penicillin, Dr. visit AND that I had not been to their office in several years because of financial constraints (let me add here that I have credit cards and our credit is still very good)…she gave me an appointment for the following Tuesday which would be about the end of my antibiotics. The day before my appointment, 6 days after I had gotten it, Dr. McDaniel had his receptionist call me to say that I was not acceptable as a patient because I had cancelled appointments. I told her what the dr. had told me about that… she said she’d catch him between patients and get back with me. Which she did… to tell me that they’d had an «office meeting» and decided I wouldn’t be coming back to their office because I hadn’t been there in 3 years. It was just one excuse after another to get rid of me as a patient. I was never abrasive, never anything other than polite, didn’t leave owing a bill or didn’t even have to make payments on my previous care.
My feeling is that it had as much to do with a lack of dental insurance or not wanting to take on a patient who has other health problems. I assume dentists don’t take an oath like doctors do. Since I was very clear about how bad my problem was and have since learned that it could potentially have affected my health dangerously… and they still refused to see me after waiting an entire week to tell me. Zero on the patient care score… the office is run on Dr. McDaniel’s whim.
