Woodtalk Stairs and Rails

We had our staircase rebuilt shortly after we bought our current house. It was very difficult to walk as the steps sloped over 2″ from one side to the other, AND it was ugly to boot. I was set to go with another contractor but discovered that they did not install the stairs they built but I would have to find someone to do that! So I started my search over for a stair builder who would construct AND install their own work — which seemed to me the ONLY way to go. (I did not want the builder blaming the installer and vice versa.) Luckily, I found this company. Gino, the owner, suggested several ways to make the stairs more comfortable (a longer run, slightly shorter rise) and designed the rails to go with them. He and his helpers installed the stairs to perfection, redoing it once until Gino was satisfied. Since then, I’ve had several contractors in to do other work on the house and almost every one of them comment on the beautiful stairs. I’m very happy!
