This review is actually from November 2012. For some reason it was not showing as completed.
I’d dealt with A&D in the distant past, and having remembered the good service, went there looking for a decent combination lock.
Bought one with the brand name Sesamee, made in Taiwan by CCL Security.
This is a lock where the combination can be adjusted when the lock is open. Before even leaving the parking lot I had a problem. Following the instructions on the package I attempted to set a combination…
And instead the combination apparently got scrambled!
I immediately brought the lock back in. Although one of the guys did attempt to figure out what went wrong, basically I got a «sorry, it is your problem».
I immediately called the customer service number for CCL Security… They were even less helpful!
I wound up going to another locksmith and buying another lock. The second locksmith basically said he ALWAYS sets the combination on this product for his customers. And having watched him do it, I realize why! The way this product is manufactured, it is too damn easy to scramble the combination.
Bottom line… I’m not big potatoes in business for a locksmith! But two days later I had had my front & back door locks re-​keyed, and the business went elsewhere.
