Arthur C.

Manager

Dr Arthur Chen received his Doctorate of Optometry in 2009 from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During his training, he worked alongside glaucoma and retinal specialists at Drexel University. Dr. Chen was previously in private practice in Binghamton, NY and Allentown, PA. He is currently affiliated with a refractive surgery center in Brooklyn, NY. He has a special interest in eye disease, specialty contact lenses, myopic control and he enjoys seeing children.

Dr. Chen also enjoys serving the community with vision education and vision screenings.

I have nothing but enthusiastic praise for the highly competent, yet personal, warm and compassionate service provided to me by Dr. Arthur Chen and his staff — as well as the superb selection of beautifully crafted trendy, affordable frames. I had just lost my glasses the day before and felt desperate; I walked into Bayside Family Eyecare, not knowing what to expect.
I was met by Dr. Chen (and his lovely wife, who was visiting for the day) with warmth and sensitivity to my situation. Dr. Chen fixed me up immediately with an emergency pair of glasses that allowed me to function (drive to work) until my permanent pair was ready. He and his staff helped me pick out a great pair frames that I am in love with, and he fine-​tuned the gradient of my progressive lenses to perfection!
He is a marvelous optometrist, compassionate with a great sense of humor — and offers a selection of frames that I found to be of superior quality and more affordable than other optometrists/​eyeglass providers.

Dr. Chen and his staff are nothing short of amazing!
He is extremely knowledgeable and has the patience of a saint. He literally spent hours with me since I have a very complicated prescription and I have had several eye surgeries.
You only have one set of eyes why would you trust them to just anyone? He is the best!

My husband and I both went to Dr. Chen for our glasses, and I also went to him for my contacts. My eyes are extremely picky, and he made sure I tried on different contacts to find the best set for me. He also helped us pick out glasses that work for us, and we both are extremely happy with the glasses we got. I had to go to a few different eye doctors in South Carolina before finding one I was really happy with, but got lucky in New York and found the eye doctor we will be going to for years on the first try! Seriously go to Dr. Chen, you won’t regret it!

Dr Chen is awesome! My husband got a really nice pair of glasses that he’s happy with at bayside family eyecare. Dr Chen took the time to explain things to my husband while he picked out a few pairs to try on. Meanwhile, I’m chasing down my 18 months old son at the office and am so glad it has some toys and kid sized chairs to keep my toddler happy while his dad picks out glasses. Highly recommended!

Dr. Chen is awesome and by far one of the best providers I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. His personable approach and thorough exam made understanding my vision challenges easy to understand. I definitely can’t say I’ve ever had an eye doctor spend so much time with me answering all my concerns. Add to all that an extensive inventory of designer frames and this is clearly a one-​stop shop for all eye care needs.
