Cupcakes In Heels

Best cupcakes I have had. I ordered custom cupcakes from them twice in the last year… They never fail. Jenny the mastermind baker is creative, artistic, and innovative with her concoctions.
Sad to hear that the store is no longer open for retail and only by appointment for custom cakes and bulk cupcake orders. I will miss the monthly cupcake flavors.
If you happen to order some cupcakes, try the lychee rose raspberry, passion fruit, and earl grey. All of them are amazing!

So I went to a party last week that had gotten cupcakes from Cupcakes in Heels. all I can say is that whoever is baking is now, is doing what is right. Consistency. Three guests and I took three cupcakes and split it between the four of us to check consistency (Oh, yea the party, whatever I’m a foodie that gets distracted by edible obects.) They all tasted the same as far as flavor, texture, flavor of frostings, etc. I like that if they make an order, they dedicate the time to them, and make them as perfect as possible. The hostess of the party seemed happy, and so did the guests.
The verdict? So I believe she stated that she ordered 54 cupcakes, (18 of each flavor) and they were gone an hour after they were brought out. The party was only 20 people large, and four of us ate three. so yea that’s… um… okay, carry the four… so yea. People liked them a lot.
So why the 4 stars? When I walked to this bakery yesterday to get cucakes for some staff members suffering with me during crunch-​time, A quaint letter posted on the door. «Due to our large volume of custom orders… blah, blah, blah,…we will be closed… blah, blah, blah,…appointments for orders are for cupcakes (min. of 18 per flavor)…blah, blah, blah… Thank you.»
Huh? closed to walk-​ins? :sighs: Okay, maybe the foot traffic wasn’t cutting it for them, but at least be open one day a week so that it would be worth it for the bakery and the walk-in’s to come in and get some 15 cupcakes. I can’t get all one flavor, I got girls who can’t eat peanut butter, one whose anti Tiramusu, a guy who hates fruit? …Yes these are the people I work with, yes.
Either way, not much for the walkers on our behalf, but more power to them and all their future baking excursions.

I never understood the cupcake fad. I actually find it quite reprehensible that creative marketing can get people to buy a relatively small cake, the size of a cup with a little cream on top, for nearly four dollars.
Then I tasted Pistachio… whoa. I went to Martha’s the next day to do a side by side comparison. Not even close, the cream here was less sweet than Martha’s and significantly richer. I guess parting with nearly four dollars was at least somewhat worth it.
Only for very special occasions. Very special ones.

Tiny cupcake store on bell. The cupcakes are decent sizes but frosting makes up most of it. Each one is named after a brand name (Prada, Gucci, etc). The pistachio one is my favorite. They used to have promotions beginning an hour before closing (buy one get one free). I haven’t visited in a while so I’m not sure if the promotion is the same or not.
Don’t think there’s enough seating if you want to bring in a big group. There’s only a tiny table for two.
Prices are kinda expensive too.

The first time I went here, I got four cupcakes. They were just so cute and I wanted to splurge and try them all! The flavors I tried were Oreo, standard chocolate with chocolate frosting, tiramisu, peanut butter. My favorite was the chocolate– it’s a classic, can’t really go wrong with that, and the tiramisu. While it was very sweet, it was also moist and flavorful. However, the second time I went back, I got a red velvet, and WOW, that’s my new favorite. Moist, fresh, delicious, subtle flavor, and not an overwhelmingly rich frosting, so it was a good ratio. Of course, they try to make it look good and probably put on too much frosting, but hey, it tasted good and went well together.
Sure, they’re not cheap, but once in awhile, it’s not a bad hit to the bank account.
Both times I went, there were young girls serving us, and they were always friendly and helpful, when asking questions about the flavors and what was in the frosting/​batter. It’s a very small spot, so if you have more than two to three customers, the oxygen levels might get a bit… depleted. And while driving by, it can almost be hard to miss.

I have been here a few times before because my friend adores this place. I think $ 3.50 for a cupcake is a bit unreasonable but they are cute and I don’t mind splurging for a special occasion… We stopped in to pick up some cupcakes Father’s Day. I picked out 6 cupcakes one with a Father’s Day theme. I was shocked to see that the girl charged me almost $ 30. I looked at my receipt and saw a $ 10 charge! I asked the girl what it was for and she said that the Father’s Day themed cupcake was $ 10 because its made with fondant and it’s a custom cupcake. Wtf?!?
1. Who in their right mind would purchase a $ 10 cupcake!!!
2. It’s logical to disclose the (outrageous) price to the customer BEFORE they purchase.
I asked the girl for a refund and to exchange it for a regular one, the owner came out and refunded the obscenely expensive cupcake and switched the cupcake. But instead of refunding the the difference for exchanging the cupcake she decides to refund the $ 10 then charge me $ 3.50 making extra transactions. She did however apologized and offered macaroons. I don’t like macaroons so I passed. But you should probably wait for your customer to leave before you go to the back. I thought it was extremely rude. The girl didn’t even apologize for not telling me the price. The cupcake and service is no where up to par to justify spending $ 10 on ONE normal sized cupcake. I will not be back. Save your money or head up the street the Martha’s.

A-​Ok cupcake shop.
I shouted at my friend to stop the car and I ran over to the store. I had seen the light. It was a cupcake store in the middle of nowhere. I was more excited than a kid riding a panda.
My friends and I ended up getting red velvet cupcake in a cute glass container and 6 cupcakes/​pies. I didn’t realize how pricey their cupcakes were until after I purchased them, but I told myself it was worth it. However, only SOME of them are worth coming back for.
Vanilla cupcake was meh, Strawberry was a big hit among my friends because it had the lightest cream with not too sweet base. Peanut butter frosting was overwhelming the chocolate base, although I can see some of my peanut crazy friends loving it. I personally loved their dolce caramel salty cupcake. However, be warned that is is CRAZY sweet. Their banana cream pie wasn’t the best I had, but not the worst. Blueberry cheesecake was not bad, but I wish the crust was better. Lastly, their red velvet was most disappointing. It was very oily inside the little glass container. It was cute, but difficult to eat and the cake nor the cream was worth it for our group to work at it to eat it.
Overall, just A-​Ok. It’s definitely better than other bakeries in the area, but for the price and taste, I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit them. If I happen to pass by it, maybe I’ll pick myself up some strawberry or dolce caramel cupcake.

A dozen cupcakes was over $ 50… i almost died
Are they good, yes. They are good. But they do not look all that fancy. And I think cupcakes they are ‘couture’ as they say should be decorated nice. Especially when they are that expensive. I honestly think they are no where near the best cupcakes around. However their carmel cupcake is quite good!
I will not be using them for my wedding… too expensive for cupcakes that are not even decorated in an interesting or different way.

I was planning on not liking the cupcakes here. I was planning on being satisfied with going to Martha’s Country Bakery and paying $ 2 for a tasty red velvet. I was planning on writing a review expressing how overpriced it is, what? $ 3 for a cupcake… why would i do that?
It really is my fault, i should never have even tried it… i should have just drove a couple of blocks down… but i heard that these cupcakes were really good… oh please how good can they be? how much better than Martha’s can they be?
Yes… 2 designer cupcakes later Martha’s was forever ruined for me. Light and fluffy, tasty creamy. It didn’t even bother me that i felt a little effeminate ordering cupcakes with names of designers. Yes these cupcakes were unnecessarily pretty. I was just going to devour them anyway… I found myself marveling at how nice they looked before wiping the drool off my chin.
yeah i’ll be back… cash in hand, i’ll be the reluctant regular but know this… somewhere deep down i’ll still be regretting the day i walked through the doors of your pretty little shop. in the mean time give me another Hermes.

We came here around 6pm & they had the buy two get one free. Each cupcake is about $ 3.25. We got the chocolate, vanilla, & the peanut butter. The cupcake here is good, moist, & not too sweet.
The place is small. Friendly service!
One thing, we think they should change their sign outside. It’s really hard to find the place because the sign is not that noticeable especially at night. Well, it is basically somewhat across the White Castle on Bell blvd.
If you’re a fan of cupcakes, this place is definitely worth checking out.

I blame Martha’s and Crumbs for cockblocking. Why haven’t I found this place sooner? After finally being introduced to Cupcakes In Heels, I am hooked. I don’t want to eat any other cupcakes but these. My faves are the pistachio (yay for making this into a cupcake flavor!) and the cookies and cream. The cupcakes are nice and petite, so you don’t feel too bad gobbling one up, and usually very moist. If you go an hour before they close, they are buy 2 for the price of one. Amazing deal, thanks to one of my buddies for discovering this place for me and discovering this little bargain. :)
Um, also, I would kill to have a birthday cake made by them. Ahems.

Thank you Living Social! I came here to redeem my voucher and I am now hooked! Albeit a small shop, it certainly packs a whole lot of flavor inside! They usually carry anywhere between 10 – 13 different cupcake flavors. All of which are named after designers. They offer two new seasonal flavors monthly. This month was white chocolate cranberry and sweet potato.
My faves are the red velvet, salted caramel, pistachio and peanut butter.
Come after 4PM and they offer a buy 2 get 1 free deal

All I can say is OMG.
I started coming here because I had a Living Social deal and now I compare any cupcakes I have to theirs– forget about the fact that the shop is super cute and everything is named after designer brands — awesome idea! But their cupcakes are amazing. So far my favorites are the peanut butter and the smores, with the red velvet being a close second. These are my go-​to treats when visiting someone’s house (I can’t be sitting home alone eating them – at least if I have to share I won’t eat 4 on my own!!).
Seriously. just go here. You won’t regret it!

Cupcake shops are a dime a dozen now because EVERYONE owns a cupcake shop. Personally, I think cupcakes are superficial and too girly for me. Most cupcake places don’t impress me, especially the ones in San Diego, they all taste the same, cost a little much for something so boring and has too much frosting or too plain. In fact, I’m not a big cake eater at all.
However, at my friend’s wedding, she had the cupcakes from Cupcakes in Heels. The flavors to choose from were salted caramel, chocolate and blueberry, strawberry, etc. and they were all delicious and had fruits in the center! The salted caramel had gooey caramel in the center and the cake was very light. The frosting wasn’t overbearing and it was just the right size.
This is one of the few cupcake places that I like, probably the only one I like so that’s saying a lot.

What can elevate a simple cupcake to the status of the higher class? By giving them names of famous designer clothing brands of course. We might never be able to own clothing of LV, Gucci, or Chanel, but at least eating cupcakes branded with their names can give us a short moment of sophistication. Oh and also the sweet satisfaction from the taste.
Using the livingsocial deal, I tried the:
Versace (Tiramisu)
Prada (Pistachio)
Louboutin (Red velvet)
They all tasted great with the Versace tiramisu cupcake being the best. It was mildly sweet and soft. Also the little pearl candies on the top added to the classiness of the name.

I am a sweet tooth queen, so I was excited to try a new cupcake spot. I had a livingsocial deal where I recieved three cupcakes and any size coffee. The location is a cute little store with beatiful décor. The cake and cupcake designs were soo cool. Now down to the nitty gritty, the taste «Meh. I’ve experienced better» fits it to the key. They’re not the worse nor the best that I’ve had. I ordered the red velvet, strawberry and chocolate liqueor. The best one hands down was the strawberry. They put wayyy too much frosting on the top and it’s not that tasty. The cupcake themselves were pretty good but if the frosting isnt great, it messes up the whole flavor. Even the coffee was blah. Sorry because the customer service was great. On to the next one, my favorite cupcake spots are still «Make my cake» in Harlem and «Cake man Raven» in Brooklyn.

A Couture Cupcake Kiosk

The transparent box showcases these high-​end decadent masterpieces. The coconut cupcake was light and had a hint of vanilla and almond flavor. I thought the tall mountain of frosting would overpower the cake but it was light and surprisingly not overly sweet. Definitely, among the best I’ve ever had. These pastries are worthy of their luxurious names.

This store is undeniably adorable. The décor is so inviting and all things lovely and whimsical. There’s apparently a Parisian motif throughout the store with the Eiffel Tower display atop the cupcake case, as well as the pretty luggage labeled ‘Paris’ on one of the shelves. I instantly fell in love with the gorgeous wall paper and the purple accent wall on the ceiling. As well, the pretty cupcake holders in the form of a ferris wheel, completely ran with my heart. There are a ton of other décor delights within this tiny shop that you will absolutely find charming.
It was nice that they have large, bite-​sized samples of their cupcakes for you to try before actually purchasing one. I had the «cookies and cream» and thought it was absolutely delish. The cake was fluffy and light, and the icing was the right texture and not cloyingly sweet. The other sample I tried was the «Thakoon», Thai flavor of the week or month. This was not as successful for me as the cookies and cream. I didn’t like the icing as it felt a little too oily and thin.
The cupcakes are lined up in neat rows and christened with a cute designer-​driven name, such as the «Versace (tiramisu)» or «Louis Vuitton (chocolate chocolate)» etc, and with all the colorfully decorated cupcakes and their fashionable names, it really is difficult for you to choose just one cupcake. But if you go an hour before closing time (go at 10pm), then you can buy 1 and get another for free. What a bargain for such high-​end, fashionable cupcakes! I was there actually two hours before closing time, so I didn’t score that extra cupcake, but had just one ($ 3.75) to fill my appetite. I went with the «Dolce» (salted caramel), and immediately ate it right out of the pretty purple box as I hopped into the car.
What I liked about the cupcake was the sweet caramel square sitting pretty on top of the large fluff of icing. When I forked into my cupcake however, I did notice it was a bit hard and a little dry, if I am being honest. I guess getting to the store so late at night, I ran the risk of getting a cupcake that had been sitting out for a little too long. The icing was also problematic because I felt it was again, a little too oily for my taste. If I had chosen a cupcake that gave me the same satisfaction as the «cookies and cream», then I’m sure I’d have loved Cupcakes In Heels a lot more.
I would say, for décor, and friendly service (the owner is super nice), and beautifully-​adorned cupcakes, this place would be 5 stars. But for the cupcakes themselves, that are a hit-​or-​miss, I’d have to say it is less exceptional.

These cupcakes are totally ruining my wedding diet! I just felt the need to share and warn all you girls who are on diets, do not go here!
The store was cute and they sell Mighty Tea and Illy coffee. If you’re going to have designer cupcakes, you have to have designer beverages.
I tried the Burberry which is a strawberry cupcake, filled with fresh strawberries, frosted with vanilla whipped cream and a Versace cupcake which is a Tiramisu cupcake, soaked with wine and coffee, frosted with creamy mascarpone frosting.
Both were moist and the best part was when I cut them in half to share them. The frosting was creamy, whipped, and soft! It was so light, it made it so easy to eat. Normally if the frosting is too sweet for me, I end up scraping it off. No need with these! However if you’re not a fan of whipped cream frostings, then you may not enjoy these cupcakes as much. I think all of the frostings are light & whipped. The Tiramisu cupcake was layered with different textures & flavors. It’s almost like a coffee crumb cake where you have the top coffee flavor and then the regular vanilla cake on the bottom. This was the favorite of my Fiancé and I.
I can’t say enough of about the cute store. The sugar and stirrers were in a cute jewelry box!

I’m a pastry snob, and I have a special disdain for cupcakes. Cupcakes are often dry, overly sweet, with a horrible frosting to cake ratio and are usually overpriced. So even though I was happy to see a new bakery open up in Bayside, I was really skeptical that they were going to offer anything worthwhile.
Well they do. I only had the pistachio cupcake because I was anticipating disappointment, but this is a damn good cupcake. The cake is moist, but the real star is the light, creamy frosting. This is not a heavy hunk of tasteless junk– this is a very well crafted pastry. I finished the whole thing, which when it comes to me and cupcakes is unheard of.
The only reason I didn’t give this place 4 stars is because I can’t justify doing that after trying only one cupcake. I live far so I’m not sure when I’ll be back, but when I go I’ll be sure to update. Really, good job guys!
