New Bayside Nail & Spa

Came here on a Saturday morning after I had breakfast next door. Might as well get a pedicure since I don’t have a place I go on the regular (I don’t get my nails done too often, i usually do my own) the place looked very clean and the owner Lee was very attentive. Got a pedicure and it came with a free Parrafin Wax for my heels & also the hot stone for about 30 seconds. The leg massage however was very long. The color was ok, one of my nails were not colored the whole nail bed. My nails were also not cut to the same length, but that might be my fault from when I cut it a couple of weeks ago. Then when I was done, they gave a short back massage at the chair to dry my nails. Also one of the girls overheard my son saying he wanted water. I couldn’t give him water because I was on the pedicure chair but when she was done with her customer she went to get my son warm water. Def will go back again. They also look like they recently renovated and is very clean. All tolls come out from sterilized bags & the scrub is also a brand new «sticker» this place doesn’t have fancy designs but for a regular mani and pedi, this is your place to be.
The pedicure was $ 12 but I felt welcomed and generous so I gave a $ 8 tip.

This is my first time at new bayside nail & spa, and I had an amazing time with Barbra. She did such a great job for my gel nails. After a stressful week at school, this place just made my day!!! i Can not take my eyes off my nails right now. for sure, gonna go back to them!!! 5 starts. clean, affordable and nice.

This has been my nail salon for YEARS. The prices are reasonable, the people are personable, and they stand by their gel manicures; if it chips within one week they will fix for free. The only downside is they rarely have new gel colors, I’ve probably gotten all of the colors at least once and recycled most of them. The regular pedicure includes a short scrub, paraffin wax, and hot stones — can’t beat it!
Be prepared to wait, this place is always busy.

Love this place! I drive ¹⁰⁄₁₅ minutes just to come here instead of walking to the nail salon 2 blocks away from my house. The staff is very friendly and I never feel that I’ve had a rushed job (even if there are people waiting).
I always get a gel manicure and sometimes a pedicure. There is a huge selection of colors to choose from. Many of the gel colors have a matching regular polish if you decide to get a regular pedi. This is the ONLY place I’ve been to that sprays sunblock on your hands when you get a gel manicure to protect from the UV light.
Very sanitary salon. Tools are always taken out of sterilized baggies that they take out of a machine.
Last thing I want to add is that Lee is a very kind and friendly owner. A week ago, the wait was about 15 minute for a manicure and he came out in the cold looking for me while I was sitting in my car to tell me I was up next.
I’m happy I’ve found a nail salon I feel comfortable going to! Definitely pay a visit!

I’m usually at Kris Nails, but without their specials they’re way more compared to all the other neighborhood nail joints which offer gel mani with regular pedi for $ 35. Well I asked for prices here and they told me $ 32 for all types of gel polish along side a regular pedi with hot stone massage. I thought HEY why not? I made an appointment and had to change it because of the snow and they were very accommodating. I came in and was seated immediately. They have massaging chairs and with your pedicure they give you a scrub, massage you and clean your calluses and use paraffin wax on your heel. However, sad to say, the experience was definitely lacking. The massage with the hand was way too short and soft, it almost felt like nothing. The hot stone massage lasted maybe 30 seconds? And that was soft too. I spoke to my nail tech Barbra and asked her to layer two different colors for my pedi because they didn’t have the color I wanted… but… I don’t think she did that. Not sure she really understood or heard me fully. I even told her I can speak chinese if it makes it easier for her, but to no avail. Oh and FYI, when she cut my toe nails, it HURT. Never happened at any other nail salon before, but I didn’t bleed or anything so I guess I’m ok or I was just sensitive today? Not sure. To my gel mani, they said they had different brands and I asked for shellac or gelish and they just brought out gelish. I wanted to see shellac colors too but she never offered it to me. I also only got to really see the colors on the color plate. However, she was sweet and tested each color on my nail to see which is to my liking. However, she was not very creative like other nail techs I’ve worked with and understood my needs to layer different colors to create the look I wanted. I gave up and just went with a something similar to what I wanted, but it didn’t end up to be what I liked… so I kind of regret it since I have to stick with it for 3 weeks. Since I didn’t like it so much, I asked for the french line, which was an additional $ 5. She took her time to do everything and was very patient with me. I wasn’t sure if I wanted the french line so she tested it on me with regular polish after my layers of gel color was cured. She also used special thin brush to make my line thin as how I would like it. She had a lot of attention to detail and tried to care for me best that she can. Definitely an A for effort although I didn’t 100% love it. I’m still off venturing new nail salons around my neighborhood to call my home since Kris hiked up their prices. But at $ 16 for reg mani/​pedi Mon-​Thurs and $ 18 Fri-​Sunday… I might come back sooner than I think.

Customer service is always great. Mr. Li is the best when it comes to acrylic nails. Always welcomes customers with great attitude. Prices are very reasonable!

This is by far the best salon in the area! The price is right (only $ 12 for the best pedicure ever. Includes hot stones and treatment for the skin on your heels! Yes $ 12!). $ 25 for acrylic set and the service is great. Everyone speaks and understands english well. A++

I have tried several nail places around and this is definitely the best! They have new sanitize machine and It made me feel safe and clean. The service is nice and I will keep coming back.

I have to respond to Karen Beth C’s comment, dated ¹¹⁄₂. It concerns me that you saw the instruments being treated with a bit of alcohol and then being placed in sterilizing bags and on a tray without sterilization. I think you’re basing your comment from partial knowledge. I’ve seen them clean the instruments a few times. They first put them in the medical-​grade «oven,» then let them cool off. Once the instruments are cool, they take each one and dab it with a bit of alcohol before putting them back in sterilizing bags so that each client has a clean and sterilized set. Like I said, I’ve watched them do this a few times and have asked why they do it this way. I am a stickler with my nails and have no problem walking out of a place if I see one hint of carelessness around the handling of tools. So for me, understanding their process, especially now with their new fancy machine and bags, is crucial. What I’ve seen at Bayside Nails is a much better process than most other places in the area. I don’t believe the other places even have the medical-​grade sterilizing machine. I’ve seen this business upgraded twice in the 20+ years I’ve been going there, and the current owner did both. So what I see is someone who takes great pride in his business.
As far as the waiting issue so many refer to in the comments, that’s the nature of the business. You don’t like it when you’re the one sitting in the chair and being rushed, right? You want them to take their time with you, no? The problem I see is that they try to be too pleasing and instead of telling people it will be an hour, they say half an hour because THAT’s what you want to hear! Seriously folks… lighten up. Waiting at barbershops, nail salons, and other fast-​service entities is par-​for-​the-​course. You can’t compare it to a doctor’s office because the doctor shouldn’t be taking walk-​ins along with scheduled appointments, so that’s a much more manageable situation. I just had to speak my mind about this… Very few places are as clean, well lit, and friendly as the folks at New Bayside Nail & Spa. And Sofia and Gigi do the BEST pedicures in all of Bayside, hands down!
And as far as Lee’s English, I don’t think it’s fine. I have a hard time understanding him most of the time. I have to find alternate ways to say things and then he gets it. So I don’t think it’s an act.

I am quite the regular here and I’m surprised there are so many mixed reviews. I could definitely see why the jobs by the technicians would feel rushed but it’s because they’re so busy!
Their regular pedi is amazing, comes with a hot stone massage at no charge. I come here for gel nails and they always last me 2 or more weeks. The technician (s), especially the man, made sure all my nails were even and to the shape that I wanted. Mani also comes with a short, but sweet back/​shoulder massage!
Overall, great salon.

I have been going to this nail salon for about 10 years now and I absolutely love it! They always do an amazing job, the prices are very reasonable, and for all the extras you get in addition to the pedicure such as a massage, parafin, and hot rocks you really cant go wrong! At times they do get very busy and you may feel rushed but it really depends on whos doing your nails. Never had any complaints.

I work next door to this place. One day I wandered in after work and never left. They always do a good job and they listen. The new renovations really cleaned up the place and it’s even better now. I love their loyalty program with their business card; such a great idea. Mani pedi combo is reasonably priced, but I wish it was extended to the weekends too. I don’t get any tips or anything fancy like that so I wouldn’t know those prices.

Had a 3:30 appointment. Left after waiting 45 minutes. (I don’t wait that long for my doctor). I’ve been there many times but probably won’t be going back. Three weeks ago I got a mani/​pedi and was disappointed. It was very rushed and my nails were not evenly shaped. Too bad. I used to like this place.

I never went when this place was under its old management, but Im sure happy I checked it out now! The pedicure is amazing and the staff is all very friendly. I’ve already been back twice.

Came here to get tips. Visited before many many years ago and now it’s under new management. I wouldn’t recommend this place as the service was rushed and job was shoddy. When asked to fix a nail, the technician could care less and the nail looked worse than it did. Definitely could improve customer service. Plenty of other better salons in the vicinity that take their time and are dedicated and cleaner and will be worth the money.

I went here today because my friend treated me to a manicure and pedicure. I noticed that it was pretty busy and there were only three technicians working. My friend and I waited and another four people came in. The regular pedicure came with extras. For instance, there was a citrus scrub, quick massage with lotion and then hot stone, and parafin wax on the heel of the foot. Since my friend treated, I’m not sure how much it was, but I noticed a sign that said $ 13.99 for both Monday through Wednesday. The manicure wasn’t anything to rave about. When I went to drive my nails, the technician (whose name was Wendy) gave me a short back massage. Boy is she strong! Wendy used a lot of pressure. Overall, I would return here again.
Quick note: they offer shellac and gellish services as well as metallic nails.

AMAZING! I loveeee loveee loveee this nail salon. The staff is super friendly, and actualy care about there customers. The remeber there customers names. Prices are awesome, cheap yet reasonable. The pedicures are amazing, for a regular pedicure they massage you with hot rocks with feels amazing. I will always be a returing customer!
