Get Frosted Cupcakery

We selected Get Frosted for our wedding because we wanted a local business and the cupcakes that we tried were absolutely delicious! Karen went above and beyond for us. Not only did we have 90 outstanding cupcakes (cannoli and cookies and cream), but Karen also made us 2 perfect 6 inch cookies and cream cakes — one to cut, one to freeze. When Karen came to deliver the cupcakes and cakes, she told us that during the baking process, she felt that the cakes weren’t quite perfect. So she woke up at 5am to remake the cakes so we could have the best ones for our wedding. She wouldn’t take a tip and left us a lovely note congratulating us on our special day. The cupcakes were perfect and gorgeous and a true highlight of the day. We are so fortunate to have had them for our wedding and will absolutely go to and recommend Get Frosted in the future!

The poor reviews and long rants this business received are not warranted. The service has always been good and thanking me each time I’m in. The cupcakes are creative and tasty.

Lemon blueberry cupcake was the most wonderful thing I ever ate. Their frosting are so creamy and fresh. They have a new selection every week. You walk in and think there are barely any cupcakes but that’s because they are making them RIGHT THERE FRESH! I have been to my fair share of cupcake shops and most are all show. This place is purely about delicious cupcakes. You must try it! I have been here only twice but know I’ll become a regular.

So they sell cupcakes (bet you already guessed that), but they’re not very big cupcakes (despite what to us are full size prices); they also have a muffin or two, cookies and coffee. Personally, we’re hoping the cupcake fad is over anyway, but if it isn’t Get Frosted’s dozen varieties isn’t doing much to keep it going. Despite entering hoping for something sweet to take home to finish our dinner with what struck us most on the weekend evening we stopped by was how much «stock» they had on display; with so many cupcakes sitting there and no customers coming or going perhaps they should have been offering an end-​of-​day discount, because otherwise either dozens and dozens of cupcakes were going to waste or a bunch of folks had day (or perhaps several day!) old cupcakes in their future.

Brought my kid in to try a cupcake hoping it was a little more pleasant than our first visit, which was quite awhile ago. Sadly, not the case. And my 5yo (a cupcake expert mind you) said the frosting tasting ‘weird’. Upon sampling, I think the ‘off’ taste was actually freezer burn. Shameful. Definitely not going back for a third.

We had tried a few of the cupcakes made by this cupcakery over the summer at a festival, and amongst the mediocre others, the location and the cupcakes themselves stood out. Today, I visited their shop, and was completely unimpressed.
The woman behind the cupcake counter is deeply involved in a conversation with presumably a friend who isn’t interested in buying any cupcakes. I wait for a break in their conversation to tell the woman my order, to which she brushes me off and tells me that someone else will «take care of me.»
The man behind the counter appears severely disinterested and takes my order as if it is a burden. He then asks the woman if she can ring up my order. The woman is still continuing her conversation with her friend while I pay for my cupcakes.
Poor service isn’t worth the mediocre cupcakes. I will not be returning.

I finally had the opportunity to check out the new cupcakery in town and it was great! I bought a small variety and they were moist and delicious. They were sweet but not too sweet, just what I was looking for. My hubby came home with another small variety for my birthday and they were also moist and delish. I plan on ordering for my twins birthday party! I know our party guests will love them as well.

Mediocre. This is not the first time I’ve bought a cupcake from them and bit into frozen icing. Had such high hopes from this place but you could bake a better cupcake from the box.

I REEEEAAAALLYYY wanted to like these cupcakes. I got so excited when I saw their shop pop up right before our move into Beacon. Alas, I’m not a fan. Tried their cupcakes twice, various flavors and found them to be utterly boring and completely lacking of the magic that a cupcake should have. They taste like your 9 year old cousin made them. Absolutely nothing special. They concentrate on flavoring the frosting but it’s just so mediocre that it’s not even worth remembering.
Cupcakes are my jam and I’ve literally visited tons of cupcakeries all up and down the east coast. I’m sad to say this one is on the top of my «least favorite“category. I’d rather drive back down into the city for a cupcake fix or even to new Paltz or Wallkill. And while I feel that those two places have super sweet cupcakes, at least they still have a little magic.
Sorry. This is my first bad review but I’m dying for a real cupcake place in Beacon. Someone PLEASE open one up! I’ll be your bestie.

By far the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. I have searched high and low for a good cupcake. I don’t ask for much — just a moist cake with not too sickening sweet frosting. This place does it right. The cakes are moist and flavorful. The icing is just the right sweetness. Add on to that — amazingly creative combinations and incredible flavors. I travel a long way to visit this place once a month to treat myself. I may consider moving to Beacon just to be a walk away. Also want to add the owners are helpful, knowledgeable about their business and the surrounding area — and they are very funny, warm and welcoming. You HAVE TO check this place out for sure!!! Make the trip no matter where you live. It’s worth it!

I feel like I’m being generous rating three stars. As another reviewer pointed out, the chocolate cake is dry, and there is no wow factor. They are better than grocery store cupcakes — as most are but not up to par with some of the other gourmet cup cakeries around here (think new paltz) I would come back to see how they progress seeing as they are new.

Wow. We went in today to buy a few cupcakes for a holiday party and after tasting some of the more amazing flavors, we walked out with 3 dozen. They were a hit! They do some kind of injection with some of the cakes that adds extra creamy frosting that has the perfect balance of sweetness without getting cloying. The cakes are very fresh, and you’ll find the flavors of each of the combinations to be a particularly well-​thought-​out combination that will make your day. We had thirty people with frosted upper lips, begging for more of these confections. Our only regret is we didn’t double up enough on our selections… the mud slide, the apple pie, and the cheesecake combinations were snatched up and gone fast! I’m a guy, and I don’t usually rave about cupcakes… but this place really knows how to make a great little cake!

I always feel like when I buy cupcakes they aren’t as good as when I make them at home… Not in this case!!! They were sooooo gooooddd!!! There were so many to choose from… Apple pie, cannoli, red velvet, chocolate cheesecake… And the woman behind the counter was a great help! And super sweet! I definitely recommend going to Get Frosted anytime you need cupcakes!!! :)

I stopped in on Sunday and tried the german chocolate cupcake-​Let me start off by saying, If you are going to specialize in cupcakes– I expect them to be perfect– if not REALLY
was only mediocre. The cupcake itself had decent cocoa flavor but was disappointingly DRY, no moisture at all. The frosting was sweet, but not delicious, not buttery… maybe they will improve in time. (fingers crossed)

‘Meh’ is the perfect word to describe this place. I was really excited about a cupcake place being in Beacon too. I purchased 3 different cupcakes to sample with friends and all three had major flaws.
I asked a few questions about the flavors and the person behind the counter had to relay my questions back to the kitchen. When I got home with the product, it turns out that the answers were incorrect, (i.e. which ones are filled).
If you’re into food, you will notice immediately that the ingredients are sub-​par. There was no «OMG» factor in the first bite, and THAT’S what you’re paying for… the eyes-​rolling to heaven, happy, jump up and down sugar joy.
The Lemon Meringue was a very dry angel food thingy.
The Stuffed French Toast had artificial maple flavor, (NOT cool)
The third, who’s title I forget, was chocolate with a white frosting that had a very greasy and not-​sweet-​enough-​to hide-​it shortening vibe, though the cake itself was good.
Most children and average consumers would be happy enough with these, but if you’re looking for a high-​end and amazing treat, look elsewhere.

Wife and I checked them out for the first time yesterday. Since they’re so reasonably sized (a plus in my book) we tried 4 different cupcakes and enjoyed each one. Best was probably the peanut butter cream & chocolate, followed closely by the carrot cake. The frosting on each was the highlight, well flavored and not overly sweet. If I have any criticism it would be that the actual cake was just slightly dry, enough to be noticeable but not enough to ruin the experience
They’ve only been open 2 weeks now so they’re clearly still figuring things out which is to be expected I think. I’d bet that the problems others saw will get smoothed out. In any case, they’re a great addition to Main St and we’ll be going back, probably more than is actually healthy for us.

Well, this place is certainly off to an inauspicious start.
I ordered cupcakes nearly a week in advance of my husband’s birthday and confirmed with the owner that I could pick them up in time for a lunchtime get-​together. The evening before the cupcakes were supposed to be completed, I received an email from the owner telling me that the staff at Get Frosted had been too busy with Second Saturday activities to get any baking done over the weekend, asking to push back my pickup time by three hours. After informing the owner that I had requested a morning pickup for a pretty specific reason, she relented.
Just two hours before I was supposed to pick up the cupcakes on the day of the party, the owner let me know that, due to some kind of repair work needed at the store (although nothing directly related to baking), they wouldn’t be making any cupcakes at all. To counteract her cake shame, she offered to reimburse me for cupcakes I purchased elsewhere, which was nice, but, you know, still kind of sucks.
So, if you’re looking for a bakery that refuses to bake things on time or at all, look no further!

I had the pleasure of being one of this new bakery’s first guests when I visited there on their opening day this past Saturday. The air was festive and there were plenty of cupcakes from which to choose.
I asked which they considered to be their specialities and was told carrot and coffee. Worked for me! They were boxed up For Later. That evening The L. and I shared each. The carrot was a little crumbly but the taste was spot on. The coffee’s flavor was pronounced and would make a nice accompaniment to a fresh cup of joe. Both cake to frosting ratios were well proportioned and the traditional size was sufficient to make me feel as if I partook without overindulging.
With its family run atmosphere and plentiful offerings which will be more finely tuned over time as they find their bearings I am sure Get Frosted will be a stop along Main Street Beacon for me and many more cupcake lovers out there.
