Computer Jocks is a full service computer repair store located on Route 40 in Bear, DE. 2012 & 2013 Readers Choice Awards. We strive to be Delaware’s best computer store. Computer Jocks offer both In-Store and In-Home computer repair services from Wilmington to Dover.

History

Established in 2005.

Computer Jocks, Delaware computer repair shop was established in 2005 and has grown to become one of the premier computer repair companies in Delaware. With humble beginnings working from home we built this company one customer at a time. Our first store front was opened in Bear, Delaware in 2006.

Winner of the Readers Choice Award, we were voted best local computer repair store in 2012 and 2013 by the readers of our states largest newspaper The News Journal.

Our Motto is «We Beat The Geeks» because it’s our mission to provide the best computer & laptop repair service in Delaware. I stopped going to Staples and I started taking my computer repair issues to the Computer Jocks… and boy I’m glad that I did! I have dealt with these guys for over 5 years now and I wholeheartedly recommend this business. I find their good critical thinking skills and personalized attention to be warm and inviting especially to a computer novice like I was.
I love the fact that they described and explained my PC issues to me in layman terms. Back then I was consistently having problems with virus infections and they told me why.
I did explain to them that I was not a pervert but on occasion I did surf porn sites. After we talked I realized my short comings but I had to learned my lessons the hard way.(no pun intended)
I have purchased 2 reconditioned desk-tops and had my lap-top serviced and I have nothing but praise for these guys. Not only do they exhibit knowledgeable professionalism as they teach you a thing or two to help you on your way… their prices are cheap. I will continue to go to Computer Jocks for any of my PC issues. Don’t believe me just watch.

The guys at Computer Jocks are the best most reliable & knowledgeable with repairs! Over the past few years we have taken our computer to them for repairs and cleanouts! They have always called if something needed to be replaced first instead if replacing it and then charging us. We have always had the best customer service here and more reliable than in our experience than any other place we have taken our PC to before! I will never go anywhere else but COMPUTER JOCKS! The original guys from computer jocks were awesome, they would make house calls, give straight up good advice. They also stood by the reconditioned computers they sold in their store. However, the current owner is for profit first, not the most personable guy and customer service/satisfaction second. I bought a reconditioned H/P laptop and I had to return it to them twice in less than a month because the battery wouldn’t hold a charge and the keyboard shorted out intermittently. The owner waived the diagnostic fee, charged me to replace the keyboard citing I had the lap top for almost a month and anything could have happened to it during that time. He also admitted it was a donation he got for free which he rebuilt, put out on his sales floor and sold to me for $ 350.00 with 2 pre-existing problems. I miss the original spirit of Computer Jocks being information, transparency and customer service.

I’m sorry but after my last dealings with them, I had to remove a star. I recently called the store because my 6 year old Toshiba laptop’s battery charging port finally died. I hadn’t dealt with Computer Jocks in a few years and it seems like the owner Rich hired someone new; at least to me, named Nathan I think.
So I dropped off my laptop, making sure to take the hard drive with me. Also I asked, while he had my laptop apart to fix the charging port, if my keyboard could be looked at because my CTRL button wouldn’t stay in place.
I feel like they over charge to pay for their place of business and the wait times are rather annoying. I found a guy, DJM Computers who works out of his home, and for decades knows about computers. He charges a fair price and communication is way better than Computer Jocks. I won’t be back.

Just had a phone call with this business, and they were totally uncooperative and unhelpful. I have an older iMac I am rebuilding and I was hoping for — and willing to pay for — some knowledgeable guidance and perhaps a part or two. Instead, the person I spoke to refused to give any information, claiming that «if we told people how to repair their own computers, we would be out of business.» (Really? Is repairing computers so easy that if your secrets got out no one would pay for your services anymore because they’d all be doing it themselves?)
Furthermore, he would not even attempt to look up a price for a very specific part for my machine. He just kept repeating «you have to bring it in and pay the diagnostic fee.» He also insinuated that I didn’t know what I was talking about — when I said I was hoping for some answers to specific questions, he replied «customers’ specific questions are always more general than they realize.»
If you just want to drop off your computer and pay them what they ask, maybe this is your place. It seems that their business model is to charge customers a standard price ($ 65 diagnostic fee and $ 90 per hour plus parts) and keep them in the dark about what is actually going on. I like to be a little more involved with my computers than that, and I was treated completely disrespectfully, and condescended to. I won’t be bringing the computer jocks any of my business.

I brought a five year old laptop there and asked if it was worth getting cleaned and tuned up due to being five years old. I really felt for five years old it was not worth it all and instead of spending $ 150 for this just put it towards a new, standard laptop for about $ 450. Computer Jocks insisted it was worth it. They are the experts so I listened. So they cleaned it up in August and yesterday I just bought a new one for $ 450. My daughter was using it for school and it was horribly slow, crashing, etc… I knew I should of just put the $ 150 towards the new one but I listened to the experts

Several years ago, the CJ guys repaired and upgraded my old Windows XP computer, enabling me to use it until there were new Windows 7 computers. For my first five years with a Windows 7 desktop computer, I was able to solve my own problems. Recently I found myself with both a hardware problem, and accumulated viruses. In short order, the guys got my computer working well again. My this-computer-only software licenses are good a while longer. I may not be able to call Ghost Busters, but I can call Computer Jocks!

The guys at Computer Jocks are very personable, knowledgeable, efficient and skilled at what they do. The business has won the News Journal «Readers Choice» award for the last 3 years: there’s a reason for that — the readers who voted for them evidently are happy with the service they get from Computer Jocks.
Shortly before Thanksgiving of this year, my PC came under attack of a Trojan virus and I chose Computer Jocks to remove the virus based on said «Readers Choice» awards, my having no other way to determine quality of service. Rich and Nathaniel, who both worked on my PC, were very thorough in their explanation of what a virus does, how to remove it, how long it would take (about 3 days), and made me feel comfortable that they knew what they were doing.
Turns out the virus that had attacked my PC had also corrupted some of the Windows files, and the virus removal didn’t correct all of the ills I was experiencing. I needed, besides virus removal, a complete back-up, wipe of my PC and reinstall of Windows and reinstalling my back-upped files. No problem for these guys; in less than two further days, and at a very reasonable price, they did all of the extra work, and my PC is up and running again: fast, free of malware, and like brand new again.
If you’re having any issues with your computers or other electronics, call these guys, or stop by their shop: they welcome questions and will gladly take the time to go over and answer whatever questions you have. Really!
I’m super-satisfied with the work they did on my PC, and they’re #1 in my book, as well as the «Readers Choice» winners!

I’m into small businesses when it comes to repairs. Found Computer Jocks on Unilocal.I cracked my screen and display so o took it in on a Saturday, got it back on Tuesday which was only 3 days later. Excellent timing. Will recommend to anyone.
