Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Incompetent and expensive incompetence at that ($ 100 for an oil change, but it’s a German car). The other reviewers talk about price, I’m here to talk about quality. Because it’s been cold, I took it here and didn’t change it myself, big mistake. 2 days later, I see that my car has leaked like a sieve and dumped a lot of oil on the pavement at home. Obviously the drain plug wasn’t tightened. True, mistakes happen, but this is a mistaken akin to barber forgetting to cut your hair… Luckily I found this at home or it could have been a major engine problem.
I called them and yes they fixed it for free, and even came out to check it. But they didn’t even come prepared or even bring a jack to check it, seriously I had to provide a jack. Before I got out the jack, they tried to get me to drive it (after topping up the oil) back to Valvoline before they even knew the problem. Uh, no I’m not doing it the «Valvoline Way» until I’m satisfied that my car will survive the 6 miles and/​or I have that guarantee in writing that you’ll pay for any engine damage (important since their word became worthless later). Although they said they would reimburse me for the oil change, they then gave me a multitude of excuses as to why it is not their fault and it’s because my gasket was bad (since they backed out on their promise of a reimbursement, you can’t trust anything they say). That’s real professional to lie and blame the owner and his car (which was fine and didn’t leak a drop before your hands touched it).
Even while they’re fixing it, I can see they don’t know what they’re doing since they’re over tightening my oil filter (which is on top of my engine, so I can actually see them doing this) by using the filter wrench which should ONLY be used when taking it off (this should be tightened by hand only! hopefully my filter mount isn’t now broken or stripped!). On top of that, they overfilled it (which can also damage engines). All together, I would not be as mad or write a review if they had at least accepted responsibility. They sheepishly promised a free oil change only after I told them that their excuses were Bogus Sophistry (BS). Great customer service «buddy»!
The excuses, lies, potential on-​going damage to my car, and wasting another 2 hours of my life, which I’ll never get back, are what got me. I know a lot about cars, I have a PhD in engineering, and I know a lot about gaskets; so the lies do not go far with me. I’ve also worked on about 15 of my own cars (regular cars, antique cars, tractors and even British cars), many of which I still have, and I’ve never had an issue like this. I’ve even had another car with an identical engine and it never leaked. Why? Because I always changed the oil in that car myself (doing so, at least, 30 times over the years) and I always tightened the drain plug to spec using a torque wrench. And I never ever wrenched on the oil filter to install it! Even prior cars which had dented oil pans or cars having 200k+ miles on them have never leaked like a sieve. If I had known how bad and rough they were to cars, I would NOT have even brought it back the 2^nd time (free) to fix their incompetence. We will NEVER be going back, and under no circumstances would I ever let them touch a car of mine again, no matter the price…

Always have a great experience. Staff very friendly and professional. I get in and out quickly. It’s a great place for me to get oil change. Quick and convenient.

What a scam joint. Do NOT go there. I should have read the previous review before going over. At least I had enough sense to tell them to go jump in a river. Out of curiosity, before pulling into the bay, I asked how much for an oil change. Expecting to hear $ 29.99 or better yet $ 19.99, he said it would be $ 79. REALLY??? I’VE NEVER PAID THAT MUCH FOR AN OIL CHANGE. He went on to say that he would only put synthetic oil in… But, if I’d prefer, he could use a lower grade of synthetic for only $ 59. NOT A CHANCE BUSTER. After trying to convince me that my car would only accept synthetic oils, I decided to pull the owner’s manual. Hmmmmm, the guy was trying to blow smoke up my A$$. DO NOT BELIEVE THESE SCAM ARTISTS.
I immediately backed out of their lot and went somewhere else. Don’t be intimidated.

$ 94 for an oil change. Stupid me. Never again… Once they get you in there, you feel trapped.
