We specialize in keeping our community running. All of our technicians are ASE certified and keep current with all late model domestic, Japanese and European vehicles. Client experience is at the forefront of our business philosophy. Accurate Auto strives to provide our clients with all of the information necessary to make educated decisions without ant pressure or sales tactics.

History

Established in 1997.

I began working in the automotive industry in 1993 for a small Honda dealership in St. Johns. A few years later I went to work for Dick Hannah Dealerships where after 7 years I became one of the youngest parts and service directors in the Pacific Northwest. I am great ful for the experience and knowledge but it was not without struggle. My last couple of years working for the dealers was at a BMW dealer in Beaverton. I realized that no matter where I went, it was the same old song and dance. I knew that this business could be done with more passion, communication and less conflict. In 1997, I partnered with a talented technician in Hillsboro, OR to create Accurate Auto. In 2003, I bought my partner out and continued to train and educate my staff. I added Accurate Auto of Beaverton in 2005 and Accurate Auto of Tualatin/​Sherwood in 2009. We are currently getting ready to open Accurate Auto of Lake Oswego in fall 2011. I am a Washington County resident and am proud to serve my community.

I am originally born and raised in Vancouver, WA. I started out working in restaurants, Bars and hotels. it was here that my core belief of excellence in client services will earn repeat business and a good living. once I came into the car business I found that my passion was not nurtured. I moved to Washington County, started creating my own culture of client relations.

I give back to my community and a United States Coast Guard Auxiliary member. We spend our volunteer time educating the public on boating/​water safety and assisting in search and rescue efforts.

personally, I am working towards my captains license and love to fish.

My wife, who i met working in the automotive business is our CFO and together we run the day to day business.

We were trying to buy a used 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 hemi and Accurate Auto in Beaverton fit us in the same day before we had to return it for a «lemon busters» type inspection. They had amazing customer service and were very straight forward and no bs type attitude. They followed up with me weeks later and that same day told me all the issues in lingo that i could understand. Their customer service was bar none top of the line and appreciated their ability to get us in that day but also help us decide to buy the used truck. Mark was awesome and they made the visit a positive experience that we will always use them in the future!

I don’t know much of anything about cars, but the wonderful people working there made me feel comfortable and was able to explain my car’s issue in a way that I could understand. Everyone needs to know that their auto mechanic is extremely honest. I have had good service from Rick and Tim at Beaverton Accurate Auto so I sent my 85 year old mother there knowing she would be treated well. She just phoned me so thrilled with the treatment, careful service and extremely reasonable charge after all the attentive work spent on her car. She acted like she found a trusted friend! I needed a mechanic who could diagnosis my car’s no-​start issue, and these guys did not disappoint. I had to wait a couple days to get my car towed over to their shop because they were so busy that they had no available lot space (which was absolutely not their fault, of course: any shop that’s as busy as they are is doing something right). However, when I finally did get my car to them, they diagnosed and repaired the issue in a matter of hours. Fair pricing and quality work done with an impressively quick turnaround time… what more could you want? 5⁄5

Who knew there was such a thing as a trustworthy auto mechanic shop… my Mom was unable to start her car, and called AAA to get a jump. The driver thought it was a bad alternator or battery that needed replacing and suggested driving it over to Accurate Auto. She had the driver follow her there, just in case there was a problem.
The mechanics at Accurate Auto diagnosed the car and discovered there was nothing wrong and the car was actually in great shape despite being an 18 year old car! As my Mom puts it, they could have told her ‘anything’ was wrong with the car and billed her for a new alternator and battery, etc. and she would have believed it. Instead of an unnecessary repair bill, they gained her trust.
Then a few weeks later, when my car began having shifting trouble and was running very rough and loud. I remembered about my Mom’s great experience at Accurate Auto, so I decided to take the car there. I met both Rick and Tim, two very personable and knowledgeable gentlemen and felt good about leaving my car there to be looked at. Rick called to tell me that they had discovered some fairly extensive repairs were needed; head gasket leaks, exhaust leak and transmission fluid leak. It was a bit surprising to hear, but thought back on having hit a large pot hole a few months before and could have definitely caused the leaks. I talked to Rick for over 20 minutes, asking questions, going over the repairs, and never felt pressured to have the repairs done.
I ended up deciding to have all the repairs done, including the water pump, and timing belt which was going to be due to be replaced in 10K miles anyway. So, rather than having them replaced later, and pay for additional labor and time it made sense as Rick explained to get it done while the engine was being worked on already. Since then I’ve been very satisfied with the repairs, my car runs like brand new again and was even $ 100 below the original estimate. Rick also followed up with me the next week to check-​in on the repairs and to make sure I was happy with them. They’ve gained a new customer for life, and the rest of my family too !

I used accurate auto to perform a pre-​purchase vehicle inspection. They were courteous, friendly and helpful. I live in southern Oregon and searching for a new user car. I spoke to him and he explained to me what his inspection entailed. He quoted a decent price of $ 89 and had the inspection conducted the following day. Upon completion we spoke about the concerns noted on the vehicle and he explained in detail the questionable items on the report. He addressed the minor issues and I was overall satisfied with the outcome. His professionalism and honesty is greatly appreciated and I’ll be using his services again. The deal didn’t work out but I now have a trusted source to refer to when I am looking at cars again in the greater Portland area. Thanks to Tim and his skilled staff.

It was really important to give these guys my review. Im a hard guy to please but this was a strange case when they met me. I had my engine rebuilt by another mechanic who did the job horribly and basically took our money and ran. We spent about $ 8,000 for an engine that took 8 long months to have rebuilt. Once we got it back I took my wife to get a donut. Sounds strange but she has brain damage and cant handle a lot. The truck almost stopped working on me and was blowing so much black smoke out the tail pipe it covered the street and pedestrians actually took cover.
The mechanic in question refused to help us blaming this on me and my handicap wife. Are you kidding me.
I brought the truck to this shop and told them my story. They were very easy to work with and treated us with a lot of respect. They fixed many issues and got our truck back on the road working better than it has in years. This is the way my wife gets to needed doctor appointments so it was really important.
Thankyou to the guys who worked on it and Carlos for being so understanding with us. It means a lot. Ill be back.
Update 12−21−15: The truck is back and its Christmas time. God is so good. The owner of the shop has been a true blessing to us. He is honest and wants the very best for his customers. I can’t begin to Thank him.

Brought in my 16 year old 4Runner the other day when it started having some trouble (for the first time ever). I didn’t know where to take it, but this place was recommended to me by a friend. Everyone there was helpful and knowledgeable, and they kept me in the loop the whole way. They had to keep it overnight, and offered me a ride home. My vehicle went from feeling like it didn’t have much time left — to feeling like it could go another 16 years! Very happy and very grateful to everyone at Accurate Auto for taking care of me! Great experience all around, will definitely recommend them to others in the future.

Finding a reputable mechanic can sometimes seem as hard a finding an honest used car salesman. When we dealt with Accurate Auto for a recent pre-​purchase car inspection, we found them to be thorough, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and yes, accurate!
We were also given excellent customer service. Carlos and Rick were great. They really went the ‘extra mile’ for us. If I lived in the Portland Metro area and needed to have any work done on my vehicle, I’d take it here.

Time for my yearly work on the old wagon so I returned to the Beaverton Accurate Auto. I had a coupon (love those coupons) for a discount oil change and everything else from a flyer I signed up for. and in addition I had the every present Check Engine light on once again.
Since I’m recovering from a fractured hip, I didn’t care how long the shop had my car so they took their time checking everything out nicely and I picked it up on a friday.
The cost for all the work they did was very reasonable-​one can’t fault a shop (or a car) that averages less than $ 200.00 a year in upkeep.
They commented on sons work and made some delicate suggestions on what might have been done to make the work just a tad bit more professional — i guess thats what happens when my former wrench son who is now a software designer works on moms car. I do believe I’ll have Accurate redo the job.
I am very happy with the work done here. 5 stars means none better in my mind and this shop equals the work done by my former mechanic who I used for over 20 years.
I can’t say anything about their other locations but I’ve been treated fairly and honestly by Accurate and recommend them highly.

Been going to Accurate Auto for several years now. They were originally recommended to me by AAA, when my timing belt went out on my 1999 Ford Escort. Since then they’ve taken care of both of my family cars very nicely, including recently when I had a spark plug wire go out. Fast, fair, and their estimates are always within 10% of the final price.
Only one negative– their hours are hard for a working guy like me. But we’ve been able to work out a «drop the car off before work, pay over the phone, pick it up after work» that has worked out quite well for the last several years.
