Avalon Nails

$ 2 if you don’t bring your own nail utensils — FYI. This is a new concept to this Florida native. Put your feet into bacteria tubs, but bring your own nail files and buffers and toe dividers… Though I only wanted a polish change — literally, remove polish, add polish — they wanted to charge me for the nail utensils. This was despite the fact that my toenails were already too short to file:) But heaven forbid that be taken into account. After saying not to worry about doing the polish change at all, I was allowed to have a polish change without filing and buying their nail utensils. Should a simple nail treatment be this difficult?
… And the polish change? Sloppy! She didn’t know how to paint short toenails I guess… the skin above each little nail is painted as well. O_​o

Overly priced and too rough! I came here twice, only cause I thought they deserved a 2^nd chance. I really wanted to like them because I used to come here regularly when they first opened but then we moved out of the area. I just got a plain full acrylic set which typically doesn’t cost more than $ 30, I left paying $ 50! Regular nail polish no gel or shellac. When I asked why she said the length and shape adds extra. So unless you’re wanting stubby nails, expect to pay extra for a modest length, double if you want jersey shore length! No joke! On top of that she was very rough, she cut me twice and burned right through my nail when she was buffing it. Ow! She had fake nails on too which she dug into skin. The poor woman next to me even told her «you keep stabbing me with your nails» and she replied «well you need to stop moving» and she said «it’s cause I’m being stabbed» lol what kind of place is this?! To top it off multiple nails cracked, chipped and broke off! If I’m going to pay top dollar for your services I’d expect my nails to last at least the first week! They didn’t make it past the 3^rd day! I went back to get them fixed and she charged me too, Save your money and go someplace else!

Love this place so much! Employees are so kind and hardworking and always leave me with perfect nails. I’ve been going here for quite a while now and I’ve never had a bad experience. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend them to family and friends. My mom never gets her nails done but once she sees mine she always wants to go get hers done

I had limited time so opted to visit a nail salon close to my home. I went in for a French shellac and was met by a lady who could barely speak any English. Not only was there a language barrier, her customer service was non-​existent. I sat in silence as she stabbed my cuticles and even made one bleed — no apology. She kept applying alcohol which aggregated the pain. She missed 1 mm on the sides for the gel to be applied, which I pointed out, but did not bother to fix. I was so relieved to make my escape. Five days later my fingers are still in aching pain. Not going back.

I am so happy that I chose to go to Avalon Nails! I have gotten my nails done many times before but I have never been fully satisfied because I never get exactly what I want, but when I went to see Ty at Avalon she took the time to look over the examples I had found and then kept checking in with me throughout the entire process. Ty was patient with my questions and was really responsive to my feedback, she really made the experience what it was. I can’t wait to go back again!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I wanted to get my nails done so I called in to see what the hours of operation were and the person who answered the phone said «it depends.» When I told her that I’d like to come in and get my nails done today and just wasn’t sure what timeshe got very frustrated with me and was rude. I would never waste my money at this place. Getting your nails done is a luxury and the last thing I want is to have someone with a snippy attitude helping me.

Ty was amazing! Nails are awesome beautiful and on point! She’s a perfectionist and I appreciate that!!! My nail go to guru!

I came in yesterday for a shellac manicure, and it was a poor experience. First of all, from start to finish took an hour and a half! My salon I normally go to takes 30 – 40 minutes max. They had me soaking my old shellac off for 40 minutes.
Secondly, the nail tech clipped my cuticle too deep and it started bleeding. She immediately got really snarky with me and frustrated that my cuticle was bleeding. Lastly, she completely painted over my bleeding cuticle, contaminating the gel polish! I asked her if I could put some pressure on my finger to make it stop, and she just reached over and put nail glue on my cut. This resulted in a huge bubble in my polish on that finger. I wish she would have given me 2 minutes to tend to my finger, since I’d already spent so much time waiting it shouldn’t have been that big of a deal. Hopefully they threw that polish away after I left, since she carelessly used it over my bleeding finger.
The icing on the cake is that this morning, 1 day later, my gel polish is already starting to peel. I will never come back to this salon again.

I wanted to love this place but was disappointed. The customer service was horrible, so was the atmosphere. I wanted a starter pedicure and a shellac manicure. I’m used to having both done if there are available workers, but this place apparently feels differently. My pedicure was lack luster, nothing special, and not very thorough. Then the lady started my manicure and jacked up my cuticles, followed by a rash attempt to apply the shellac, at which point the younger girl had to step in and start over from the beginning, asking me what shape I want my nails filed, when the lady before spent 20 min on it already. Then 5 people walked in and suddenly I was being rushed. Shellac was (still is) on my skin, and I was told to leave it there and not peel it off because I will ruin my shellac. It’s like no B!!!# you need to be careful, first of all, and remove any slip ups if they do happen!!! Then she tells me that next time I should not be scared and tell them to work on me for both mani pedi at once, if that’s what I want. Again, no, it should be a given that a reputable salon would be attentive to it’s customers, and not sit and chat and eat right in front of them, not even once given eye contact nor a smile. I guess I’m used to a higher standard. My nail salon in San Jose, Ca was awesome. Overall this salon sucked! I spent way too much time and money in there for mediocre service. The younger girl did a good shellac job, and made an attempt to be friendly, but she also left shellac to dry on my skin and basically told me to «deal with it.» The woman who did my pedi didn’t understand a sentence I said and therefore didnt do what I asked. The other lady was rude and had no customer service awareness at all. Where o where is my nail salon ??? Lol

Great atmosphere! Everyone is so nice here. So glad Julie work over here now. Been going to her for 8 years strong :) Tina is fabulous too. I’m happy to see the old crew back in business together.
There are different levels of pedicure service they provide. This is nice for people to pick and choose what they want included in the service.
The place is very clean and spacious.
Love going to salons that make you feel like home.

Good prices and thorough acrylic fill w/​shellac. My only complaint is that there aren’t more shellac colors with the gelish brand, i’ve had some of the other brands they carry for shellac peel off instantly.

I’m not sure what kind of flesh eating acid they use but my feet are still sore! When I expressed my concern, she just blew me off.

Visit #1: walked in for a mani pedi. Was serviced by a friendly gentleman. However his skills were nonexistent. Nails were not shaped evenly — I eventually asked for the file so I could do it myself. So LITTLE lotion was used that my legs were burning from the friction with the latex gloves he used. I went home to repaint my own nails. The smell of latex persisted for the rest of the day! I was too embarrassed to ask him to stop.
Visit #2:
I was the ONLY client. Walked in for an emergency mani pedi. My nail technician was too engrossed with the tv to give a proper massage. I was appalled that she used a cuticle clipper to cut my nails — which was also painful! It was freezing cold in the room — despite this they didn’t have any heated fans. Hand massage was completely rushed. The paint job is horrible. Poor coverage, and the top coat didn’t cover the color. This defeated the whole purpose of going to a salon.
This place has terrible service and their staff clearly doesn’t care. I regret wasting my money here. Such a shame because the location and space is really nice!

Glad this place doesn’t require appointments. Last minute decision to get my nails done — in particular, gel nails because I’ve never gotten before. If you forget your mani pedi kit, I believe it’s just a buck or two for them to provide.
I’ll just say, I like gel nails better than acrylic and my nail artist didn’t lie to me — they lasted about 2 weeks. I believe my nail artist was named Tina. We didn’t talk too much but she did a good job. I would just like to comment that when she helped cut my nails shorter into a square shape, she made one side more angled. I didn’t like that. /​: however, she did give me a mini hand massage and wrist and forearm massage. Also, I didn’t realize the process for getting gel nails — in and out of that UV light.
Overall, a good experience because Tina and her staff were really friendly and accommodating. I’d definitely recommend this place to get nails done if you’re feeling like you need a pampering.

Make sure to make an appt with T. She is worth the wait.

I’ve been here in the past and it’s been great. I actually chose to come back again because it’s one of the only places I can get shellac and it doesn’t peel up within a week.
I went yesterday and had a fine experience. My friend though was another story. We both got shellac manicures. Mine took about 30 minutes, her’s took 2+ hours. The polish wouldn’t dry on her middle finger and the manicurist tried redoing it several times before asking for help. Ty (I believe she’s the owner) came over and took care of it with no problems. Obviously it’s something the first manicurist was doing wrong, which isn’t a huge deal– people make mistakes.
I was most annoyed that we were there nearly 3 hours total for 2 manicures and never offered any money off, coupon for next time, or anything else. Just seems like bad customer service, right? I guess it’s fine I paid full price but you shouldn’t be cha argued normal price when something takes 3x more than it’s supposed to because of their mistake.

This was my first time doing shellac and this was the right place to chose! I love the color selection and everything is so nice and clean! I wasn’t going to right a review until I waited a couple weeks because I’ve had friends that weren’t happy with chipping from other salons.
BUT I AM SOO HAPPY!
My nails lasted 3 weeks without chipping. And this shocked me since I always tend to break nails and chip polish because I use my hands a lot for work.
The polish never did chip, I just had too much nail growth and I have to go back and get a new color!
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Best $ 25 I’ve ever spent.

Even more sold than I was before!
I was up in WA and went into a salon with my family where I got my first shellac manicure. It was chipped within a couple of days and almost completely peeled off (not by picking on my part) at the 2 week mark. I came in to Avalon during a lunch break just to get the polish off but was instantly sold on another shellac manicure when I saw a sign in the window for only $ 25.
I didn’t catch the gal’s name who did my nails, but she is the sweet daughter of the lady who was working — who just came in to bring her mom coffee before she went off to her current job, but was asked to stay to help as the owner hadn’t shown up yet. She did an AMAZING job and at the first week mark they honestly still look like I just got them done.
Please go here, relax, tip well, and then grab a yummy pita at Pita Pit afterward!

I love my girl Ty. She always does a great job. After having to schedule a late mani/​pedi for my coworker and I they still took their time to accommodate us and stay an hour after they closed. Ty always makes sure to shape my nails the way I want it. It’s always the right length and makes sure she does a great job.
Unfortunately, my coworker was not as fortunate to have Ty and her French tips were not clean and straight. It was her first time getting shellac and she wasn’t too happy.

I work in a business (property/​real estate management) that sometimes leaves me feeling like a tomboy. When the chance arose to stop and get a manicure, I jumped at it. The nice people at Avalon Nails had a slot open, and I chose my nail color (Sonoran Sunset). They had my fingers in warm water before you could say «nail file,» and made my nails look all pretty and girly.
I found everyone there friendly and ready to help. They spent the time to make sure my manicure was dry, fixed up any little nicks, and they took my wallet out of my purse and pulled out my card for processing so I wouldn’t mess my nails up. What a lovely little spot of luxury on a cold, cold day!
