Continental Cleaners

I am super impressed by Continental Cleaners. The quality and price are hard to beat. I used to pay $ 18 per couch cushion cover and Continental charges $ 3.25. Between my dog and my daughter the couch is always getting stains on it and they have always been able to get them out. Definitely going back whenever it’s needed!

This place ruined my dress! I tried this place out since they got so many reviews but they completely ruined my dress! Created a stain and discolored it!

I appreciate that the owner contacted me to try to make things right! Since I had to go out of town, I didn’t take the item back and had it cleaned elsewhere.

I went down the street to Beaverton Cleaners and they wanted almost $ 60 for 6 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts, and not ready til Weds, today is Sat… wtf…Continental is next to my nail salon so I walked in, and was immediately greeted by very friendly staff. My total was about $ 28 and clothes ready Monday… Hello new dry cleaners!

Best dry cleaners! They have the best prices I’ve ever seen, it’s always done by the next day, and the staff is super friendly. I love that when I need my clothes sooner than 2 PM when they’re normally done, they can accommodate and put a rush on it for me. Anyone in the Portland area, try them out, it’s definitely worth the drive.

I run a preowned clothing store and take huge batches of clothes in to be cleaned. The clothes are always ready on time and it’s the cheapest cleaners I’ve been able to find.
Like others have said, they only take cash or check, so plan accordingly. I also get the gift certificate deal, where you get $ 5 free for every $ 25 you spend.

Seems like a good dry cleaner. friendly and busy. but two stars for lack of debit or credit card use. cash in advance only.

I’ve been bringing our dry cleaning here for a couple of years now. They are SUPER REASONABLE, reliable and everything is available the next day for pickup. Highly recommended.

I had dealt with this cleaner for a while and really hadn’t had any issues. They weren’t great but for the price they good enough. Last week I brought them 2 of my Tommy Bahama camp shirts. They have cleaned them before without incident. This time I got them back and one of them had four or five grease spots on them and the other had a black mark (looked like grease as well) on it. I didn’t notice the issue till I got home. I brought them back in as soon as I could and explained that I knew the shirts were not stained when I dropped them off and now they appear to be ruined. They said they could try again. I figured what the heck, they can’t damage them anymore than they already are. I just went in to pick them up and the satins were still there. There clerk was very quiet when I complained so a man came out (I believe the owner) and spoke to me. He said he tried his best to get the stains out but couldn’t. When I stated that they didn’t come in that they didn’t come in that way he replied, «we don’t put grease on clothes». What a stupid thing to say. Long story short, he said he believes me but wasn’t going to do anything for me. $ 250 worth of shirts are now garbage. I will never set foot in that door again. He offered me free dry-​cleaning for my loss — right, I’m going to bring more things in to be ruined, not likely. For those of you who have had good experiences, keep your computer handy, it won’t be long before you will be writing a one star review. It’s just a matter of time. I should have known, you get what you pay for… Their prices are low and there is a reason why. Go somewhere else, anywhere but here. No customer service and they don’t stand behind there work.

I used Continental Cleaners for about a year. 80% of clothes came out good. 20% had some small issues I overlooked because, well, it’s a $ 3 cleaners. Today though was the last straw. I had a very expensive vintage gown that I bought directly from the former owner who described it as worn once. It was in mint condition in my opinion as a clothes dealer who has seen thousands of dresses. I ordered PRESS ONLY. They broke 4 of the boning areas and is sticking through the side seems. Jeeze, wouldn’t a clothing dealer notice this upon buying? Also, wouldn’t I notice this upon washing? Or maybe when I dropped it off at the dry cleaner and went over the dress with the counter girl? They told me «How would you know it’s worn once? Vintage clothing is delicate». Yes, I know this after buying vintage for 15 years. I buy what I do for my business solely based on condition and this dress was a treasure to behold, but no longer thanks to these cleaners. I will no longer be using them. I’ve given then $ 1000’s of dollars, you’d think they would try to keep my business?

There is a reason they are cheap — they do a terrible job. I had 7 button up shirts laundered and pressed, pants dry cleaned, a sweater, and and a few polo knits dry cleaned. ALL of the button up shirts came back with PRESSED WRINKLES IN THE COLLARS AND ALL OVER! Completely sloppy! And to make things worse, the lazy people they clearly are they only buttoned the top button, causing all of the shirts to fold incorrectly when buttoned up. The dry cleaned sweater smelled like cigarette smoke (I don’t smoke). The pants were fine. This was a horrible experience. I’m sticking with Moore’s Quality right up the road from now on (wish I wouldn’t have tried this terrible new place)! Horrible!

Completely satisfied with their service and price. They do the job right. $ 2.75 for dry cleaning; $ 1.50 for just washing (I think. It may have been either a quarter less or more.) The lady didn’t try to strike up a weird conversation about my clothes. She simply took them, took my payment, gave me my receipt, and I was done. That’s the way to do it. Baby. Yay.
Cheap. Reliable. Good customer service. What more do you expect? Well, coffee might be a nice touch but whatever.
Oh yeah, they only take cash or check. Yikes!

Good bye froo-​froo eco cleaners! I actually want my shirts cleaned!
This place is perfect for anyone who wears dress shirts for work. They are quick (2 – 3 day turn around) and cheap ($ 1.75/shirt). You have to pay in advance so make sure you bring cash!
Overall, no fuss cleaners.

I’m happy to report that I don’t have any stories to tell about Contiental Cleaners… trust me, this is a good thing. This means there was zero drama, begging, shin-​kicking, name-​calling, lying, etc.
If I had to write a story, it’d go like this… I give them my dirty work clothes and a check for something ridiculously low like $ 17 (which would’ve been $ 80+ at my neighborhood cleaner), then I come back a day later and pick up my stuff. The end! I paid less than $ 3 per item. The clothes are all there. They clothes are all clean. The clothes are ready when they said they’d be ready. The staff smiled. Perfection.
Just remember to bring cash or a check when you drop your stuff off… you pay up front and they don’t take cards.

While WINCO has more payment options and the services offered could improve but overall it was all right. The customer service was mediocre; nothing exciting here except for the prompt service. I definitely see some areas for improvement. But nonetheless the clerk greeted and assisted me promptly and got me into the system.
After doing so, I asked if they could press only as my wife already cleaned them. The clerk explained it would still cost the same as a regular Dry Clean even if I request for press only. So I reluctantly agreed and she tosses the shirts in the bin below. She then explains I needed to pay upfront. At first I thought I misunderstood and say «huh?» She again explains I need to pay upfront. At this point I’m thinking «Okay, not a problem» considering all the positive reviews on Unilocal.
So I then proceed to take out my debit card only to be interrupted by the clerk citing «Cash or Check Only!» At this point I thought «Oh great, I just wasted my time. What sort of cleaner charges upfront and doesn’t accept debit or credit.» So I reply explaining I didn’t know and I don’t carry cash. She points up to the signs and explains it’s cash or check due to the rising cost of the credit card companies but will make a one-​time exception for new customers. While I can see that’s a perfect excuse for a world that carries cash, but who does that now? Seriously? Perhaps I have been spoiled by the luxuries of plastic? The added protection when there are disputes? But that’s another topic.
Anyhow for those looking for new cleaner be prepared to bust out the dusty checkbook or make a stop at the ATM before hand.

Special thanks to fellow Unilocalers who reviewed this gem of a dry cleaner. I had been searching for a dry cleaning company I could trust with my clothing and am ecstatic to find this place.
The building is large, clean, well-​organized, and offers plenty of parking. When I dropped off my 2 coats for cleaning, I found that the staff was friendly and helpful. The gal that checked in my items looked over them, marked the areas that needed special attention, and pointed out some problems that may occur with the buttons. She informed me that the buttons on the coats could break due to the intense heat. In a attempt to prevent this, she had staff foil the buttons.
Before leaving, they require customers to pay by check or cash up front. My total was $ 5.50 to dry-​clean 2 items (each item is $ 2.75, excluding suede and leather items). Such a great deal!
The next day, my items were ready for pick-​up after 4pm (they close at 7pm on weekdays). It was a holiday and they were open! I inspected the items after picking them up and they were clean with no damage or complaints from me. I am so happy with this company!

Each item is under $ 3, cleaned and pressed. Of course leather costs more, but this place is a steal! I’ve had nary a broken button, or other mishap. It’s well worth the drive. Most things are ready by the next afternoon. Nice staff.

I’ve died and gone to dry cleaning heaven, if there is such a place.
After dropping $ 30 downtown to dry clean four things, I was:
1)pissed
2) sad
3)more pissed
I know what you’re thinking. Why did you by «dry clean only» stuff if you didn’t want to fork over the cash to get them cleaned? My conclusion: I was getting robbed but I was too lazy to find a better deal. A co-​worker told me about this place. Here’s the best part: each item is less than $ 3.
Maybe there’s a better deal out there, but I have yet to be clued in. Until I hear about it, this is my go-​to place. Just beware of the prickly employees. They do not small talk, nor do they smile. But who cares?
