DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIKE HERE. They had my bike for 2 weeks, called me on Thursday telling me it was ready and when i showed up Friday they said i would have to wait another day for it to be done. They told me it was going to cost $ 400 and when i finally got my bike back they charged me $ 740. They charged me $ 94 for a $ 46 part. They are scamming everyone with overpricing. The day i got my bike back it wouldn’t even start after less than 2 hours of getting it back. I was less than a mile from their shop and they refused to come help me fix the problem they caused. STAY AWAY!!!

Awesome! I’ve always loved this place. They have always been super nice to my family and I. Things I can’t get anywhere else I can get here. Vintage bike friendly. A++

New ownership has my vote so far. Granted I know they haven’t won everyones review in the past I know from multiple sources. Their selection is continuously just the things I need for routine maintenance items. Always in stock on those items (or almost always). Additionally they seem even more down to earth and friendly than other shops. The times I have had bikes worked on by previous ownership they surprised me and motivated me to get the work I needed done by having fair or better than fair service costs. Like I said — still getting to know the ‘new’ guys there, but so far they’ve never let me down and are carrying the tourch (or better).
Will go there again soon.

Let me walk you through my experience with D&S so you can understand how I was defrauded by them. I have a medium sized Honda cruiser that got dropped off this summer (2014) by my friend in Oregon (who was storing the bike) because the bike wasn’t running well and then it was to beshipped out to me once D&S completely tuned it up and got the bike in a working and reliable condition. A month went by and I never heard from D&S so I kept calling and at first they said they were trying to figure it out. A week later I called again and they said they hadn’t gotten to it yet. So which one is it? My friend is also calling and getting the same run around. Weeks pass and I still hadn’t heard from them so I called and they said they’d be done very soon. Finally, the shipping company went to get it a little over a week later (well over 2 months from when it was dropped off) and the driver said it was taken all apart and in pieces. The shipping company nor the driver, nor my friend, were very happy about this. I was told they were still trying to figure out what the issue was. Well, I thought that was reasonable. Finally, after quite a while, I called and I was told it was the carbs. Did it really take over 2 months to figure that out and shouldn’t that have been the first thing you checked? Even after repeatedly telling them to call me when it was done so I could get the shipping company out there asap, I still never got a call. So I called and then they said they just finished changing the battery and tuning it up, etc. and I had the shipping company there a few days later and it was delivered to me 4 days after that. When I got it, the bike was not running. I thought the battery was dead even though a new battery shouldn’t have died after just 4 days. After I charged it and turned it on, the front left running light was dead. The signal was fine and I replaced the bulb and that wasn’t it so it was a wiring issue, but not anything simple that I could see. In addition, I would charge the battery, but after a very short time, I couldn’t start the bike up again. I found this out by it dying on me a couple miles from my place. I had to walk back with the bike (it’s a little hilly around here) and get my car and go to an auto parts store and get a new battery. The guy there looked at the battery that was in the bike and said it was really old and not in good shape and I told them about it being replaced in the shop and they said D&S definitely didn’t test or do anything with this battery. They also told me there might be something being wrong with the wiring system and to see someone about this. Next I take it up to a shop near me. They call me up and tell me my wiring system is in really bad shape and the stator and rectifier are shot and that is why it isn’t working. That makes sense. I asked how bad the wiring was and they said many of them were worn through and the connections were corroded, etc. I asked if it was obvious because I’d just had the bike in a shop in Oregon and they had pulled it apart. I was told it was very obvious and they can’t imagine how anyone working on this bike could have missed it. So now I’m very suspicious that work by D&S wasn’t done at all. I call D&S and talk to one of the mechanics and he says he will talk to the owner and call me back the next day. They never call, of course, and so I have to. At this point I should note that the owner from the beginning of our 30 plus minute talk was very hostile and I feel good about being patient and calm even when he was yelling. Here are the things he said and some of my responses: The owner tells me the bike was running perfectly after his mechanics cleaned the carbs and they never took it apart except for the carbs. The eyes of the driver of the shipping company say otherwise. The owner says he replaced the battery. That battery definitely wasn’t new or in good condition. The owner said he ran the bike every day. The shop here said that can’t be true because the bike isn’t starting or able to hold a charge. Then the owner tells me he was doing me a favor by keeping the bike for over 3 weeks after they repaired while waiting for me to pick it up. I had the bike picked up a few days after I had to call to find out it was done. Then he tells me he’s the only one who worked on it. You said your mechanics cleaned the carbs. I realize he keeps changing his story and I think he did too because he gets really hostile and starts lecturing me on running a business and how I’m nothing to him and how the money I paid him for this work is nothing compared to what he brings in every day and how customers like me are a problem because things go wrong and we blame the shop. It’s not like it’s been many months or a year later and I’m having these problems. I was having these problems from day one. I tell him this and he hangs up on me. I want everyone to know about this so they don’t get cheated like I was.

I needed new brakes and could not wait another 2 weeks to get into Beaverton Honda. Although I read the prior reviews about D&S, I called them this morning at 8:15 and rode in at 4:20pm. They replaced both brakes and I was out of there at 5:25pm. I can not say enough good about them and will be bringing my Vstar 1100 there when needed. Every business has a bad day but please do not knock this one out the door!

I have been in several times to D&S Cycle and they have always been very helpful. Fair prices and honest advice. I don’t understand the negative posts because I have not ever had problems there. They are very interested in helping and take interest in your needs. Great little shop.

I should have known better, but I went in to buy my first tire on my day off and was sold a 90 series when I needed a 70. A little honesty about not knowing what fit or not having the right one would have gone a long way. Now I’m at Motosport Hillsboro and feeling much better about the work being done.

Friendly, honest, knowledgeable shop! I brought a 1982 Suzuki GS300L with multiple problems into D&S Cycle – they got it running great. This is my first bike and they didn’t make me feel stupid for being a new rider and not knowing much about motorcycles. After trouble-​shooting several problems, the guys at D&S had my bike running great – I’ll definitely take my ride back to them in the future. If you want motorcycle repair or service from friendly, honest, knowledgeable people, D&S Cycle is the place to go!

Horrible service. Had my bike there for 2 months and not 1 phone call. I always had to call in and ask what was going on. Every time I called, they seemed all put out that I am calling.
I caught them strait lying to me about having a bad CDI box. It sat for 3 weeks and I finally went in there to see what is going on and complain. I complained and they told me they would look at it next. 40 mins later my bike was «running». So that leads me to believe they never touched it in the first place until I complained. They found that my CDI box was unhooked somehow. But didnt you tell me I had a bad CDI box? Contradicting yourself there a little. Just be honest people! Why do you must lie to your customers? If you hadnt touch the bike. Tell your customers that you are too busy and have not touched it. Were all adults here.
Sat there for 5 more weeks and didnt get any further than the first and only time they touched it which was when I complained. Went there because they were recommended and reviewed well. The attitude I feel is that if you are not one of their «good’ol boys» you are last on the list. They will never call you to tell you what is wrong. If you call, you are bothering them.
Picked up my bike 2months later. Paid a bill… for what? I guess to bail my bike out. Problem is still there and bike runs worse than ever before. I dont know how people like this stay in business.
I purchased 2 sets of tires from them in the past, even had my oil changed for $ 65?!! That was a rip off. I paid it because it was a service. If I would have known it would $ 65 to change my oil, I would have done it myself.
I will never go back and will be taking my business and money somewhere where they understand the definition of customer service.

My whole sordid, recent experience with D&S from beginning to end would take up an entire page. In a nutshell, they ripped me off. They charged me for work that was never done, argued with me, overcharged my credit card, and racked up 200 miles on my bike. I did not want to deal with them any longer, nor make any more trips to the shop, so contacted an attorney. They ignored a request from the attorney for a refund.
During the ensuing mediation hearing, the old man (now the owner; his son is now the manager) was vulgar and talked down to me and my bike. I probably made a mistake by settling for the amount I did during the hearing and would have won a court case, but already wasted too much time and money with this despicable shop and its keepers.

Over the past four years I have purchased tires with installation, a new battery and had them install sprockets and a new chain. Always the best prices and the mechanical work was top notch. They don’t suffer fools so don’t go in there and act like Valentino Rossi. This is a good shop and deserves your business.

Took my Harley to have them change the handlebars and extend the wires and line to accomodate the bars. I picked up the bike and the bike was leaking oil, turn signals not working, headlight fell out of the houing and throttle cable was the wrong one potentially could lead to an opne throttle. Attempted to have them make it right. They siliconed the bottom of the motor to hide the leak. Took them to court, settled in arbitration and they wrote a bad check. Went back to the court and recieved a judgement. Months later still havent heard from or received any payment. Suddenly, I find out that some lady with the same last name buys the business and saves Jim Dorns tail. Now I have to deal with bankrutpcy courts and hope to see an eventual outcome of this matter. He still is «employed» there. Same people, same mechanics, will have the same outcome. Thye better business bureau has rated it an F.

Great place to buy tires, their prices are the best in the area that I’ve found. This place is seriously old school, reminds me of bike shops in the mid-60’s: owner is always there, no frills, no hype, no computers. If they don’t have it, they’ll order it.
