We also offer delivery and professional plant installation services in the Portland Metro area. History

Established in 1994.

Farmington Gardens is a family owned garden center in the fertile Willamette Valley. Established in 1994, we have evolved from a roadside booth into a comprehensive garden center with a reputation for high-​quality plant material and a knowledgeable staff. We offer a wide range of annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees, many of which we grow ourselves on the extensive growing fields surrounding our nursery.

Best nursery in Portland! Has variety of plant selection with reasonable price and you can spend hours just gazing at all varieties and beautiful landscape.
It gets difficult not to pick extra plants as they all look so pretty and inviting! They have lot of variety of indoor and outdoor plants. Also, options for organic vegetables.
Beautiful landscape and very helpful staff. Must visit for the backyard!

5/​15, wow 3 years time for an update.
I still love these guys, in fact dropped by on Friday to buy a bunch of plants and shrubs. They have a HUGE selection and it is a beautiful place to spend a few hours looking and admiring their selection.
Since my last review I have purchased several large trees and used their Planting Service. I was very impressed, they brought my trees to my house and professionally planted them. They are gorgeous and thriving. A great service when the tree is so mature it makes it a bit hard to transport and plant. Very courteous and professional.
I realized the other day that they finally have installed bathroom facilities, no more outhouses. They are heated and air conditioned and have a baby changing station. Very nice!
There is always someone available to help you and they staff up on weekends when they are crazy busy!

Although prices are a tab– bit high, I find myself returning annually. This is a very well stocked nursery, and there is plenty of friendly employees around to answer questions. I found a male kiwi, hellebore and daphne. Mission accomplished. Maybe this year my daphne will survive…

I’ve been going to Farmington Gardens every year for 20 years now…
It’s awesome that they have expanded and added to their stock.
I have favorites I buy there that can not be found any where else. (Yes, I’ve shopped at other nurseries ;) but find most of what I want/​desire at FG)
The staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and if that person you’re speaking with doesn’t have the answer, they are quick to find it :) Check-​out is pretty quick, too.

This is an amazing place to shop for plants. I am a landscape designer. I regularly turn to Farmington Gardens for those oddball items that I can’t find elsewhere and I use them for my own vegetable garden. They have a great selection. If you ask the staff a question they will get you an answer even if it takes a few radio calls. They also have great return policy. I have only used it once but it was an easy process.

When I come out this way to shop, I just carry a basket around with me and enjoy buying a few plants for my small patio garden. However, I have a friend who has a large house and garden, so it’s the best fun of all to live vicariously through her as she buys plants with abandon. We make a full day of it, have dinner, and then head back to yard or patio happier than we were in the morning. Even if you don’t buy plants, it’s simply restful and peaceful to walk around through the beautiful grounds and «window shop» and plan your dream garden in your head. The staff is always a great help, always ready to answer questions, and always friendly. Doesn’t get much better than that, huh?

This place has everything you need for gardening, and the selection is excellent. Great help and advice and that is free. Sign up for their rewards program — «Dave’s Bucks» and if you are spending a lot, you get to spend those bucks back later on future purchases. Most plants have a money back guarantee, and the prices are lower than Al’s Gardening on Roy Rogers Rd.

I love this nursery.
This is a great place to buy plant starts for your garden, and ladybugs to eat the aphids on your roses (if you do that, which we do), and to just generally hang out and bask in the wonderfulness that is gardening in a green state.
I could live here, really I could. At the nursery, I mean.
The people are super helpful and nice, and the plants are lovely.

This is the perfect place when you need anything for your yard. The trip out here is quite lovely. The grounds were nice enough but they built several new buildings last year so it is even nicer now.
Their plants are always very healthy and they offer an amazing selection of plants you do not see often at nurseries. Picking just a few items is very difficult since their displays are so inspiring. They also have excellent soil and mulch selection.
Their special events are wonderful as well like the tomato festival. During the summer they also do what is called Plant A Row helping gardeners donate their extra produce to shelters and such and offering rewards for that.

This is one of my favorite places for basic plant material. They have amazing prices and the plants are always healthy and full. Great prices on trees, shrubs, roses, edibles, vines, grasses, shade perennials, ferns… Selection of perennials for sun… not the best-​weird, rangy varieties. They post their availability online which is helpful. Worth the drive!
