Went in for an oil change (car running fine).they tried to tell me my oil was so bad that they couldn’t get any new oil in. After they ran me around 800 dollars later my car ran horribly and my oil light turned on. I took it back to them very upset, they then did something to where my oil light turned off but my check engine light came on (they unplugged my O2 sensor). These guys have no idea what they are doing and on top of it they are scammers. They tried telling me my car was going to blow up. There is nothing wrong with my car except the now worn O2 sensor they unplugged that was hitting my axel

I have to say this is the best shop I ever been too. The professional knowledge and work ethic that the employees have here is hard to find. Charlie and his guys really got the shop dialed in. from the start it was explained what will happen, I was informed during the whole process of my estimate, repair, and follow up appt. this is my 4^th visit for different issues on different vehicles and I will always be a loyal customer. I never put any faith in what i read here before i went in, and i sure am glad i didnt listen to all the old negative comments. truly a great shop and awesome job, you guys keep it up !!!

Have gone here a few times since my mom bought a groupon package for some free services and oil changes etc. the first time was to put on a new side mirror because mine had been hit. They put it on fine but the Electric to adjust the mirror hasn’t worked since.
Second visit– I have an oil leak so I ask them to inspect the problem so I can get an estimate. They have no clue. And say it’s probably my turbo which is a $ 3000 dollar fix. Ummm pass. So I take it to the dealership and it’s not the turbo at all.
Third visit– I go in for a simple oil change. It takes 1 hour. No big deal but when I’m paying they recommend another 500 dollars for a tune up. I decline because he shows me an air filter claiming it’s mine and it needs replacement but I know for a fact it’s not because I have my bf tune up my car on a regular basis.
Also after leaving the third time a few days later my engine light has come on. Sketchy. So I’m taking it to another mechanic to have it checked.

My car did not pass DEQ. Instead of fixing the problem they sold me an expensive repair. After spending $ 300.00, I expected my car to pass DEQ with no problem. It failed.
They blamed me for the failure, apparently because I did not spread my legs and not chant some magic curse on DEQ. Then they had the nerve to charge me an extra $ 20.00 to get it to pass.
The mechanic (?) is an incompetent boob! The front office is no better.
Stay away from the crooks!

I just got back from having my oil changed & transmission fluids flushed; cost was MUCH less than I expected (& paid another mechanic to do on my Honda). I have taken my cars here for over a year and a half & haven’t had any problems with the work. They’re much cheaper than other places I have gone to & always manage to get any/​all repairs done in a timely fashion.

Description Of Work:
Took a 2007 Nissan Versa in for brakes.
Also did a break fluid flush and transmission flush.

I arrived at the shop and left the car. I had already purchased the brake pads and ask if they would put them on. Told the manager if he did not like the pads they could use their own. He said they were fine but, there would be no warranty on the pads.
They installed pads on the front as the back brakes were fine and only needed adjustment.
I arrive home to brakes dragging and squeaking badly. I decide to drive it for a week to see if it improves. It only gets worse.

Arrive at the shop and describe that the brakes are squeaking badly both when applied and when just driving down the road. They agree they are squeaking and will correct the problem.
I talk to the mechanic when I pick up car and he stated «there were some sharp edges they needed to grind off the pad but, they are installed correctly».
I pick up the car and get it home and the brakes are just as bad as before. I let the car sit in the driveway afraid to drive it. I have an appointment with the Nissan dealer for an oil change and will have them check the brakes.

Arrive at the dealer and they state the front pads are missing the shim kit and the brakes are sitting in there loose. That is why they are squeaking badly. The pads are wearing unevenly since they are not secure. I basically pay the cost to have the brakes re-​done and they are fine. Totally quiet and stop well.

Show up to discuss with the manager. He makes a token refund for some of the labor. He stated is was my fault since I brought in the parts. Does not remember I said to use his parts if there is any doubt.
It is troubling that they would let a customer leave when the brakes sounds like it needs a brake job. Brakes are important to the car and I commute in traffic every day. I did not trust these brakes to stop me properly.

Side note.
on 5÷2÷2015 another woman was in the shop stating she paid $ 1100.00 for a tune-​up and they car died two blocks away. They were back for round two.
My recommendation is stay far far away from this place

I was contacted yesterday by an employee of this shop offering a free oil change and vehicle inspection for my trouble. This really poured salt in the wound. It has been over a year since this happened without any offer of resolution. I see this as an attempt to clean up the well deserved Unilocal rating that this shop has earned. Let me break it down here…

You are the only decent review that this shop has, your four star rating is based on the fact that they told you that you needed more work done than you actually did not need according to the other shops in the area which stood to profit from the extra work and still chose not to tell you that it was much needed work…
You go on to say that your car seemed better after the work, honestly I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Susan W none of the work that you had done would make your car run any differently at all.

You seem to have had the same mind blowing experience that I had myself, taking the time to rewrite a review after so much time has passed seems to be a sign that you really do feel wronged like I do. I am sure it is nothing that a free oil change over a year later would fix lol.

It actually looks like you created a Unilocal account just to review this shop and for that I applaud you, this really shows the way that they made you feel and the steps that they were not willing to take to rectify the situation.

PS under no circumstances should anyone be using this shop, I will not be taking them up on the offer of a free oil change, I would not let these guys touch my vehicle. Who knows what they are going to come up with next but I am confident that it is not going to be good.

Made appt for oil change over a wk ago– appt was at 8, still hasn’t touched the car at 8:35– said they were double booked. Apparently i should go back to Jiffy Lube– way better and faster service! Was trying to support an independently owned business…

My original post seemed to have disappeared after some months, here’s the repeat. This is a TERRIBLE place:
Last Friday I left my truck with them to get my fuel pump replaced. Later in the day they called me telling me that additionally I needed my oil changed, oil cooler lines replaced (They were leaking they said), and my transmission fluid flushed and changed as there was NO fluid in it at all. I immediately questioned the last one in that I had had this done less than a year back, and had checked the fluid level recently and there were no stains in the driveway. It was at this point that Josh said «Well maybe they hit an air pocket when they checked that I’ll have them look again». I’ve never heard of a transmission fluid air pocket but as I NEEDED my car back so I could get to work the next day and he doesn’t seem to be letting go of this until I agree to something else I tell them to change the oil and leave it at that. So I get the truck back and the following day its showing signs of the fuel system not staying pressurized, specifically that I needed to turn the key to on and leave it for 30 seconds or so before I cranked the starter, at which point everything worked flawlessly. This is generally a sign of the fuel system not holding its pressure and by turning the ignition to the on position for a bit allows the fuel pump to re-​pressurize the system prior to cranking the starter, so I bring it back four days later.
Again I get a call from Josh, apparently he comes in later in the day, and he tells me my ignition switch needs to be replaced as they are not getting any electricity out of one of the lines. When I explain why I brought the car back in and the symptoms it seems this is the first he has heard of that but is positive that this had to be the problem because I need a new ignition switch. When I ask how a faulty ignition switch would have caused the fuel line symptoms he hasn’t any idea but is adamant I need a new ignition switch to the tune of $ 500+. When I questioned this further he offered to close it all back up and let me have the truck back after I paid for the $ 100+ diagnostic and made it clear that it would be non-​running as it had a faulty ignition switch. So even though it was running just fine when I brought it in, excepting the starting issue which had every symptom of the fuel line not staying pressurized as opposed to any ignition issue, I’m stuck. It’s the day before Thanksgiving and I’m either going to fork over another $ 500+ or go get the keys to a vehicle that isn’t even running at all now with most any place that I could get it hauled to closed for the next four days.
Last night, Thursday thanksgiving evening, I go to use the truck for the first time where I need my lights on. No lights anywhere inside the cab, later they do come on intermittently, which has never happened before their «needed fix» of my ignition switch. I just got off the phone attempting to find a number to call for a corporate office or owner, as it’s no where to be found on their web site. There apparently is no corporate office contact available and all Josh can tell me is they are owned by «Steve» and he has no idea how I can reach him but suggests I call all the other Honest-​1 stores in the Portland area until I find him at one of them.
So much for Honest-​1 Auto Care.

My brake light switch went out and I needed it replaced right away, I had gone to Tune-​A-​Car many times before but obviously they are no longer there, replaced by the current business. I was charged $ 50 labor to change a simple switch which is ridiculous. They justified the charge by inspecting my car for anything else it might need (future sales opportunity?). They also charged me misc shop supplies and hazardous disposal fee to throw away the old switch! That’s called «nickle and dime» charges that jack up the bill from what you were originally quoted. I won’t be going there for oil changes, the price quoted for an oil change is not what you will be paying when you leave…
