MonteVista at Murray Hill

I don’t mean to sound snobby or anything. I am just saying this to prove a point later on in my review.
I have never lived in an apartment older than 5 years old. My last apartment in Portland was brand new. I was the first person to live in the apartment I leased. Having said that, MonteVista is definite much, much older than any apartment I’ve previously rented.
Having said that, it speaks volumes when the staff here are MUCH MORE responsive than any staff from previous apartments I have lived at. I have only worked with Shantel (not sure who the others are) but she’s been super accommodating, super responsive, and mega nice!
The apartments already looked pretty nice when I came to come look at them. Since I’ve moved here, they’ve been power cleaning the walls, the roofs, repainting and my patio is current being re-​built (or at least the sides are). This shows me that the owner and staff at Monte Vista are more Responsive than Reactive — and THAT is what I like to see. Fix a situation before it ever becomes a problem.
When it comes to the layout, I got a 2-​bed, 2-​bath for myself. I’m happy to report that I am extremely pleased with the size. I have a ton of space and live here very comfortably.
I do live next to Scholls Ferry so it gets pretty loud. I do wish they had garages but they don’t. But guess what??? I knew all of this coming into Monte Vista. Shantel told me absolutely everything about these apartments when taking a tour. I knew all this before signing a lease.
Also, when I submit a request for a work order, within a couple hours, they’re at my door ready to fix the problem. No, they don’t take days. No, they don’t blame you. No, no, no. They just show up, ask to come in, and just fix it. Super, super fast with no hassle. Thanks for this!!!
I would definitely tour Monte Vista if you’re looking for a place in Beaverton.

I moved from out of state and needed an apartment until my house sells and I find one to buy in this area. This is one of the few places I found that will take larger dogs. This is a great place if you have pets! My dog and cat love the window seat in the apartment. There’s even a doggy washing station near the pool that residents can use. The staff are always friendly and helpful, too. I have had a few minor maintenance issues but they were fixed immediately when I reported them. Minus one star for the lack of AC, but I have seen some window units in the complex so it appears you can buy your own. It can get a little noisy with the windows open, but generally it is a pretty quiet complex and the grounds and pools seem to be maintained well. There are hike and bike trails behind the complex that connect to a network of trails, so it really is the perfect place to live if you have a dog. You can also walk to many shops and restaurants (Murray Scholls, Progress Ridge, etc.).

My name is Cynthia, due to move in on the 18^th and I am more than excited to have a new place to call home! The staff has been caring and detailed, and that’s what I want and need to call a place home! I am beyond pleased with the assistance and the ease this move has been. Looking forward to using the pools and 24 hour fitness center! There is also another perk of being close to my favorite theater cineatopia!

Overall: I would never recommend this place to anyone… EVER.
Noise: Not too bad if your windows and doors are always closed; however, this place doesn’t have any a/​c so getting a breeze you have to have your windows open which will allow sound to travel up. Somewhat pretty mellow neighbors but more to come on that later…
Grounds: Bird crap everywhere and dog crap everywhere, now I do have a black lab; however I pick up after my dog. Not everyone else does that here though. Now from a distance this place looks nice but get closer and you will tell this whole place needs a good blast with a pressure washer, cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere and inside your house too. I have never had sooo many spider bites than I have had living here.
Safety: Well they say a picture is worth a 1000 words so I posted one of my safety here. I was not even here for six months and the County Sheriff’s and SWAT team was here for six hour standoff. People were kept from going to their homes till 9pm. Now I come from Phoenix, AZ a place with way more crime and have never experience this…
Neighborhood: The parking spots here are way to small for any car even a compact car and twice my car has been hit and damaged. Now the 1^st time the lady that damaged my car was nice enough to leave her insurance information and $ 500.00 later my car was fixed… Not even 3 months go by and I have the same damage and this time no one left their information.
Maintenance only gets three stars because nothing has broke since living here.
Staff: I have asthma and had to make several calls to the front office about a neighbor below me smoking cigarettes and pot. They were not helpful and one guy told me I can just move whenever I liked and pay 1 ½ rent to break my lease early. I considered that extremely unprofessional. Neighbor still smoking and staff still not doing crap about it. Can’t wait to get out of here!!!

So this is an extension to my previous review. I won’t change a thing I said prior but just want to update with giving kudos to the maintenance crew here at Montevista. They have exceeded expectations with all requests and have been very friendly and helpful. So with that being said I’m happy to call Montevista our new home.

1. Walls are thin. I can hear my neighbor talk on the phone
2. Maintenance. First off, there were hairs painted into the walls all over the place which makes me think they didn’t really clean when they painted. Also, out of the 4 times I’ve submitted maintenance requests only 1 was slightly positive.
The first time we got a quick reply and got a guy in here, but he couldn’t fix anything we had problems with,
The second time I was told the maintenance guy would come out and he never did
The third time (leaking pipe), I got NO reply, ended up having my dad come fix it. I wrote to them a week later asking if anyone was going to address my issue and got an apology.
The final time, my windows were DRIPPING with water and mold was growing everywhere and they gave me a list of «Tips to prevent mold.» When I asked them for actual assistance (sealing the window, the possibility of borrowing a dehumidifier), I got no reply.
So, as long as yo0u never have maintenance issues you should be fine.

I’ve lived here for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I love it here – the location is great, the apartments are great and well maintained. There are so many amazing restaurants and attractions in walking distance:

You couldn’t ask for a better location in Beaverton. In the summer I walk everywhere – the area is just beautiful.
The staff have always been very friendly and attentive. I once called about my broken washer and the next day they replaced it with a brand new one!
All the complaints about thin walls – this is an apartment complex, not a private home. If you can’t handle a little bit of noise, I suggest you find a house to reside in. Though I will admit the visitor parking is a bit of a nightmare, I will go to argue that the property is only so large and they reserve many of the available spots to the tenants, which is only fair.
I would highly recommend this complex and I don’t intend to leave unless I have to :)

I have lived here for 5 months now. Staff are very friendly pay attention to detail. Best apartment experience I have had so far. The property manager even remembered my name and there are hundreds of people who live here!
Key points:
— great location: can walk to stores, lake, restaurants, library, Starbucks and is right next to paved bike/​walking path that goes for miles.
— service requests and rent can all be done online. They take care of things very quickly.
— everything in the apartment worked and was very clean when I moved in.

We love Montavista! Lots of grass for kids to play, outdoor and indoor pools, racquet ball court, nice layouts and this area of Beaverton is so beautiful. Close to anything you might need and mostly walking distance.

I just moved in here at Montevista and I’m completely impressed. They have been completely welcoming to us and our puppy. Plus all the amenities you could want! Indoor pool? Yep. Outdoor pool? Yup. Washer & dryer in unit? Oh yea. Not too much to complain about here.

So I saw a one start review here and I laughed. Cuz it’s so damn true.
I’ve had a few issues here and there. The problem is that they are being totally ignored.
For example: It’s raining and 25* outside. I tell them there is too much moisture in the master bedroom and it is starting to cause mold and mildew on the windowsill. What do they recommend «leave the bedroom window open» so it can air out.
They have a gym but the equipment is in disrepair and falling apart.
They have a indoor heated year around pool and spa. But they are both only hardly luke warm. I got in the spa and it just felt like i was becoming a part of a stew (kinda gross).
They don’t keep their office hours as posted. They leave early. And they keep changing them to be around shorter and shorter times.
The topping to all of this cake is… i emailed them about my issues and never heard any sort of response. Not a «we are sorry», not a «thank you for bringing this to our attention», not a «we don’t care f’ off». NOTHING…
All i can say is… HOW LONG UNTIL MY LEASE IS UP?
