Bedford Village Inn

Well… this restaurant definitely did not impress me. I was so excited to celebrate my birthday dinner here with my mom, aunt, and grandmother but from the first few minutes we were underwhelmed.
The location and the ambience is definitely upscale. Make sure you make reservations! Our server Marletta was attentive but not very quick that is for sure!
A few things to note. When you order small plates you will receive your soup and salad after small plates and I was hoping to get them before hand.
I also have to mention that their location is not ADA compliant. There were no ramps and the bathroom has no railings at all. My grandmother walks with a walker and it was diff July for her to navigate this location.
The biggest issue I had with this place was the salmon. I ordered the salmon entrée and it was RAW! When the manager came over they suggested remaking the meal but that would take an additional 15 – 20 minutes and he rest of the party would have been done so we asked for it to be taken off. The manager balked for a bit but finally did it.
I just think that the amount of money you pay for the meals, you should have cooked food and good service but that’s me!

Went here for dinner tonight. Had Elizabeth for our server. She was awesome. Asked her if the meatloaf was big enough to share. She said yes with an app so that’s what we did! Had the crab cakes! So good but not enough sauce! The meatloaf was amazing and the perfect amount. She came back to tell us about the desserts. We Never order dessert!!! She sold us on the chocolate basket ! Amazing. She is great on the upsell! Elizabeth you were an awesome server!!! We will definitely be back soon!

It was my first time at the BVI and I enjoyed it. The service was extremely professional and knew exactly what they were talking about. They talked to you to your face and didn’t read from a paper which impressed me. I would definelty go back and I recommend this restaurant.

Let’s get the only negative thing about this place out of the way right now… the price. But I am here to tell you that if you’ve got the money, it is worth every single last penny of it.
Beautiful ambiance, impeccable décor, and the most dedicated wait staff await you for a dining experience you will not soon forget. A silver anniversary? A zero-​year birthday? A wedding, shower, college graduation… or maybe a promotion celebration? Look no further. If you go anywhere else in NH on your special occasion you are selling yourself short.
I went here recently for one of those events listed above. Won’t tell you which one lol. But let’s just say that if my car broke down I would’ve gladly booked a room and had more meals.
I ordered the filet, easily the best steak I have ever tasted and cooked EXACTLY the way I asked. The sides of potato gratin and asparagus were so good that they almost stole the show. Almost. But the desert… take your pick because they are all masterpieces… was so incredible that I literally almost cried in my dish. It was the baked Alaska. Almond joy ice cream fried in a crunchy exterior. Amazing. My dinner mate had the chocolate bag. No really. It was a bag made of pure chocolate and filled with mousse and the freshest berries you could imagine.
Please, please, save up for a trip to this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

The Bedford Village Inn has a lot to offer with the dining room, the Tavern, Corks, and the Patio. My family are rather regular visitors.
The dining room is a great restaurant for a romantic dinner. It’s been a while since my wife and I have been there, but it’s the best spot in the Manchester area for an intimate dinner. A great menu and an excellent wine list.
The Tavern is a very good restaurant with a wide ranging menu. It has a warm atmosphere. We had dinner there two weeks ago. My wife had the chicken burger, which she loved. My daughter had the ramen noodle dish, which she loved — and I enjoyed the leftovers. I had the steak frites, which was good, but more frites than steak.
Corks is our year round favorite. They have their own menu, but one can order from the dining room or Tavern menu. This is the best menu in the area. Combine that with a great wine list by the glass and a good meal is almost guaranteed.
The Patio is our fair weather favorite. My wife and I had dinner there last week. The food and wine were very good. We enjoyed a cheese and charcuterie plate, a Caesar salad, and a chicken burger. It was a very nice meal. We also enjoyed the musical entertainment that evening. He played great music and was a perfect theme for the night.
Over all, we really like the BVI and all of the options it offers. It can be pricey, but it almost always hits the mark.

I will agree that the BVI is a beautiful venue, and the food and service are usually excellent. I do find the prices to be very steep, but it’s OK for a special occasion.
The reason I took some stars away is I have been to 2 weddings there and both were not what one would expect. In both cases the families paid for the most expensive option including an open bar, During the cocktail hour preceding dinner, they only had one bar tender, and the room was full. At my table, a gentleman was waiting for the line to go down (it traversed the room). After about a half hour he figured he better get in line. Sure enough, he was about 5 people away when they closed the bar to begin the announcements. People wanting wine, which was passed, waited at the kitchen door for the waiter to come out with a fresh supply.
Keep in mind if you are having a large wedding, that some of the guests will be seated upstairs away from the main body of guests.
At the time, guests rooms were very expensive and the bride had to reserve all of them.
I do think it would be a lovely place to have a small wedding. But the 2 I went to were really bad, and I know the families paid a ton!

I admit that I have not been here in years. The last time I was here I was put off by the high prices, uninspired food, poor service and stuffy atmosphere. On the recommendation of friends we returned and can report that things have changed markedly for the better. The atmosphere has lightened up and the service is welcoming and competent. The drinks are still not cold enough and the dining room is still a little fussy, but the dining patio is lovely and do is the tavern. The new food was quite good and imaginative. I had the tagliatelle with white pesto which I thought was a tad dry and the sirloin strip. My companion had the Cesaer salad and the seafood pot au fou which was very tasty. We shared an inspired dessert of lemon curd stuffed beignets. All and all an improvement. We intend to go back in the near future.

My husband and I were married at St. Anselm College in April 2015. When we began our reception venue search, we looked at a handful of places close by. Bedford Village Inn was the clear winner because of the unique setting and the abundance of experience they have with weddings and events in general. From the time you book an appointment to take a look, it’s clear that BVI has their act together.
I am a very organized person, so I appreciated that BVI always fit in with my high expectations. They always had an answer for every question and kept the planning process running smoothly for the entire 14 months we had our wedding booked. We were provided with a comprehensive packet containing all package information (menu, alcohol, extras), a timeline of milestones with BVI, a list of «what to expect» on the day-​of, and more! The final details appointment held several weeks before the wedding was absolutely fantastic and helped to set some of our anxiety about the details at ease.
Megan Lawrence, the Wedding Coordinator, was extremely responsive and always a pleasure to speak with on the phone or via email. About a month before the wedding, we were speaking on a weekly basis. She never made me feel like my questions were silly or that she didn’t have time for me. Within five minutes of meeting her when we dropped off décor, my parents concluded that «she is perfect for this job.» They are right! On the morning of the wedding, Megan herself was helping to set up the reception and was very helpful in assisting me with some last minute details.
Every detail was executed almost exactly as I envisioned. The food was delicious (yes, we actually ate!) and the service was impeccable. Having our own personal waitress was amazing and she knew exactly what to do from having drinks and appetizers ready for us after pictures to reminding me I needed to bustle my dress before introductions.
We found BVI to be pretty comparable in price to some other venues in the area, perhaps costing us a bit more in the end. Remember, when it comes to booking vendors for your wedding, you get what you pay for! BVI was worth every penny.
If we had to do it all again, we wouldn’t change a thing!

Spacious rooms, good WiFi, a very good breakfast over at the detached Tavern building. The only hint of age is the style of the decorating and the creakiness of the floors — and probably the difficultly of finding a place to plug something in to recharge but I must say I have had similar challenges in far more modern hotels on that front!
Staying there for only one night as part of a larger group that was split up between two hotels we wondered what the busy season would be as going there at the end of April we were met with no signs of anyone else being around.

I had dinner at the Tavern a couple weeks ago with my husband and another couple. I really like the ambiance of the restaurant. It is very rustic and cozy. There is a small bar area that you can grab a drink at while waiting for your table since the Tavern doesn’t take reservations. Our service was also great.
The food started out very promising. They give you two types of complimentary bread, both of which were very tasty. We shared the pork belly and crab Rangoon appetizers to start. I would highly recommend both. The entrée portion of our meal was disappointing. My husband and I both had the burger on special. It was a bacon cheeseburger that was supposed to be stuffed with cheese and have prosciutto as well. I didn’t see any prosciutto or cheese stuffed in the burger. They both also came overcooked. I got the normal Parmesan fries, which really just weren’t very good.
I would definitely go back to the Tavern to give it another shot. Maybe I just ordered the wrong meal. Despite that, we had a very enjoyable dining experience.

Had a late lunch yesterday. Service was excellent! Food phenomenal! I had a new menu item. The steamed pork belly buns. They were delicious! BVI has once again exceeded my expectations!

Had a great time at the BVI last night. Great service attention and good selection of pre-​meal breads. We have been here several times in the past year and the food is usually top notch. We ordered fillet and monkfish as well as several appetizers. The only comment is that the scallops appetizer was a bit on the petite side. You only get 3 very tiny bay scallops, which at tops are the size of a quarter coin. We did not make any suggestions to the restaurant, howerver, the couple sitting next to us had the same feeling about the scallops appetizer and mentioned to the service staff that the size of the scallops to be mediocre at best. Needless to say our main course meals, crab cake 2^nd appetizer, and desserts were very memorable.

I know the reviews are great but I’m just not a fan. It is pretentious and overpriced (I’m not talking about the tavern.) The food was good but my expectations were for great. There were four for dining, two porks. chicken and salmon. The salmon was sent back the server did not mention it was cooked medium. The décor is quintessential New England… great setting.

The food at the «Tavern» is amazing! I recommend the Chicken and Waffles, Steak Tips, and Chicken Sandwich. Oh, and the Mac and Cheese. The French fries are to die for. When my husband and I are looking for a romantic night out, we go to the Tavern. The restaurant is in a beautiful old house, you feel like you’re eating dinner in someone’s livingroom in the 1800s. Very cozy.
The BVI also throws great parties that are open to the public throughout the year. We’ve been to the Great Gatsby party and the Ice Bar… So much fun!

Stayed recently for a night at the Inn. Had a great dinner with wonderful wines and cheese. Especially enjoyed the BVI Surprise! Will absolutely be returning.

Went to the Tavern with my wife and 2 friends. The menu had tons of options, and it was difficult picking just one entrée!
We started with 3different cheeses. The portions were a little smaller than I would’ve liked; I also appreciate when the waiter shares what each cheese is (which they did not). Main course came out, and everyone was very pleased with what they ordered. Everyone chose a dessert, but struggled to finish as we were so full!
Ambiance — quaint/​rustic
Service — this is the area I think they need to work on the most. Everyone there was, friendly, but rather novice/​unpolished.
Quality — everything was of the highest quality, no disappointments
Quantity — the cheese portions were a little light, but everything else was well portioned
Value — the prices were reasonable
Overall — well worth trying out. A great selection of items, should you want just a burger, or salmon. All the desserts were delectable, everyone left overstuffed & happy

I have been here many many times before. We have stopped coming here because I thought the food has gone down hill. We recently have been coming back because we heard there is a new chef. We have been here a few times in the last month and love the food. The burgers here are amazing. So delicious and has great flavor. The pizzas are also great and I love how the crust is so thin. The service on the other hand has not been so great. I came here last Saturday with friends and family. There was 5 of us. We put our name in with the hostess and she was EXTREMELY rude. My friend was standing on the side where apparently she stands and she goes «excuse me» in the rudest voice. There was really no where to stand because there was a line out the door. Even the guy behind us thought she was really rude. And then the whole night she kept glaring at us. It was very uncomfortable. We finally got seated and the waitress didn’t come over for 10 minutes. She finally came over and took our drink order. My mom got titos with grapefruit juice. My mom asked for extra grapefruit juice and she never brought it over. My mom asked again and she still forgot. Then my mom asked someone else and she brought it over… what a joke. She finally came over and took our orders. The food took forever. I think the kitchen was backed up because it was very busy. The food took at least 40 minutes. I think the server should of come over and apologized for how long the food took but she did not say anything. The food finally comes out and I got the burger and asked for a whole wheat bun. It came on an onion roll and I told the server and she said «I did not hear you say that.» She was trying to argue with me so I asked if she would take it back. She rolled her eyes and finally took it back. She was so rude the whole night. Never refilled our water glasses. There was a water pitcher right next to the table and I would pour the water myself. Great service… HAHA. When my burger came out right, it was delicious. Everyone else also liked there meals. Overall, the food was good but service was awful. For a high end place, the service should always be on point even if they are busy.
I came here Wednesday night with a few friends and we had an AMAZING server. I think her name was Sosha. I would definitely recommend her if you come here. She has been the best waitress I have had here in a while. She was so sweet. Really knowledgeable about the menu. She did not rush us at all. We all got salads to start with and they were delicious. Then we waited a little bit to order. Then we finally ordered entrees. I got the salmon and the rest of my friends got burgers. She was very attentive and kept refilling our water glasses. The food was delicious. Came out perfect. This night was the best nights I have had here in a while. Service was on point and food was great.

I received a gift certificate from my coworkers earlier this year and used it several months ago with my husband at the Tavern. The place was packed but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. Our server was nice and attentive. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. There was an ice bar outside that looked awesome, but we were too cold to partake.
We plan on going back.

My husband and I spent one night at the Bedford Village Inn following a wedding we had attended there, and everything was just superb. Our suite was the perfect blend of old New England charm (dainty floral wallpaper, brass fixtures, leather-​bound books) and modern conveniences (flat screen television, Keurig coffee maker with a selection of K-​cups). The four-​poster bed was insanely comfortable, complete with soft, cozy linens. Turndown service included chocolate chip cookies.
One aspect of the BVI that I found to be particularly enjoyable was the number of inviting common spaces they have created. From the sitting room just off the front desk area to the Adirondack chairs overlooking the lawn to the little gazebo next to the restaurant, BVI has created the feeling that there is no shortage of spots to simply slow down and enjoy the moment.
While we usually stay with family when visiting New Hampshire, I would seriously consider spending a night or two at the BVI just for the fun of it. It was such a lovely little gem, and I do hope to return.

Went to BVI with another couple on Saturday night this last weekend. We ended up at ‘Corks’ their upscale tavern styled dining area and bar.
Had hands down one of the best Salmon I’ve ever had. Crusted and very light and had a few great Manhattans!
Impeccable service, atmosphere and food selections. I had also had a 100yr old shot of Grand Marnier which was a fun experience!
Def going to be a regular here!
