The chicken is good, if you are willing to wait. And wait. And wait. And waiiiiiiiiit. And heaven forbid it be raining… just go to Church’s.

Terrible. If I could give them no stars I would. My boyfriend was gonna pick up some chicken, and when we got out of the car at 8:54, the worker RUNS and turns off the lights. What’s even more shady is that they laughed about it. We even checked online what time they closed and it says 10:00. We even called and their excuse is «due to the sales, we close early.» Well OK. We were right outside of the restaurant and you guys thought it would be funny to close when you see 3 other customers. Lazy manager.

I was there on 6÷14÷14 in the evening around 8:50pm. There was a sign that said they are short handed so they would be closing at 9pm. Please note this is not my first time here but the first time service was horrible. I placed my order with the young lady working there. I new i was going to wait because of them being short handed. What I didn’t expect was the lack of customer service. The young lady repeatedly yelled at the cook and yelled about what key locked the door. It is like she couldn’t talk in a normal tone to the guys working there. After waiting there for over 20 minutes I asked her how much more my wait was going to be and she says they were waiting on the gravy and would be 15 more minutes. At that point I asked for my money back. They did refund my money but this was the worst experience I have ever had here.

Good chicken but they definitely need to work on the«express». First car in line at drive thru, not peak time, still takes 15 – 20 minutes. Whatever you save by not going to Canes is going to be burned up in gasoline. If you must go, park your car, go inside and bring a book to read.

The student discount sign is what attracted me. I thought it was a general thing but turns out it only applies to one combo. Anyhoo, if you like the breaded hot wing(which take 7 min) instead of the sauce kind… perfect place for it. Their sweet tea here is great too. Not very personable or very fast but hey… what are we asking for in drive thru’s?

OK, fast food chicken is everywhere, and it is what it is. However, Chicken Express takes me back to my very simple roots for the unique order I always place — fried chicken livers and gizzards with plenty of mashed potatoes and cream gravy, side of fried okra, and washed down with sweet tea. That taste of nostalgia makes it worth the occasional cholesterol-fest! Also, some of the mostly lightly breaded, non-greasy chicken tenders you’ll ever eat.
