Family Physical Therapy Services is Greater Manchester/Boston’s destination for one-​on-​one personalized healthcare. We’ve been putting «care» back in healthcare for over 23 years.

We specialize in general orthopedics, but treat a wide variety of therapy needs including spinal disorders; sprains/​strains; total joint replacements; vestibular disorders/​vertigo; pre & post natal issues; post surgical such as rotator cuff repairs, menisectomies, and ligament reconstruction; arthritis; balance deficits; sports injuries; fractures, and a multitude of other physical challenges.

We also have a dedicated service area in Industrial Rehabilitation designed to save businesses tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in job related injuries. Industrial Rehab Services include: Functional Capacity Assessment, Work Conditioning, Job Match Testing, Job Description Development, Onsite Injury Prevention Screening, Ergonomic Assessments, Modified Duty Work Conditioning Development Program.

History

Established in 1991.

Family Physical Therapy Services began as a small single-​therapist private practice situated in the center of Bedford, which was perfect for the community-​based practice that we had in mind. Family was truly an integral part of the practice, with the owner’s mother, uncle, and husband all playing their part.

Keeping with the «family» theme, the family «tree» logo idea took root and yet another family member suggested a mighty oak to represent strength and longevity. The broken branch and re-​growth signifies the power of healing.

In 2006 we moved to our current location at 165 S. River Rd in Bedford, only to be displaced 8 months later due to a devastating fire that destroyed much of the building. Through hard work, help from the community and colleagues in the area, and driven by our dedication to our patients we persevered and have been able to return to S. River Rd to continue providing what we believe to be some of the finest physical therapy available.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Cathy is a 1980 graduate of Russell Sage College with a B.S. in Physical Therapy, and a 1984 graduate of Anna Maria College with a Masters in Business Administration. She has owned and operated Family Physical Therapy Services since its inception in 1991 during which time she has amassed a breadth of clinical experience concentrating on general orthopedic physical therapy for clients of all ages. Prior to starting FPTS her experience included private outpatient orthopedic clinics, hospital inpatient and outpatient care, nursing home, home health care, and pediatrics.

Her specialties include treatment to the entire spine inclusive of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions including lumbosacral and SI joint dysfunction. She is especially adept at treating arthritis and degenerative conditions as well as strains, headaches, and thoracic outlet syndrome, as well as pregnancy-​related back pain.

Cathy is licensed to practice Physical Therapy in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
