I have been a member at the Boardroom since its opening in Bee Cave but they recently closed their doors and refused to refund or prorate fees I paid for an annual membership. They offered to set me up at the Westlake store but it is approximately a 45 minute round trip. Very disappointed in the owners and do not recommend anyone pay in advance to be a member at this or any other Boardroom salon.

This is my 3rd time coming here. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the staff is really professional. I was a little hesitant initially about going to a guys«salon» but this place has changed my mind on guys getting extra attention when getting haircuts etc(I refuse to use the pampered) if you don’t mind spending a little extra, it’s totally worth it. Besides we’re talking about our heads/faces here. If your not willing to spend a few extra bucks on your own head, make sure you use that money to liquor up your lady so she can tolerate your ugly mug! Bonus: free beer when you walk in! –cheers

I got a very professional letter from The Boardroom”, it would be much more convenient than my barber of over thirty years. I must confess to having a small fraction of American Indian blood, so I probably shouldn’t have been surprised that the«from Houston, helping with the opening» Lady gave me their Hiawatha Cut with the buzz trimmer mentioned by another person, despite my relatively specific instructions. I was the only customer, for the entire session. There is a strange odor that permeates the space, smell of antiseptic and embalming fluid mix. Premonition possibly! It provided some humor for my wife of Forty plus years, who enjoyed telling her friends that«Moi» had gotten the worst haircut she’d ever seen. She has threatened to make me sleep in the teepee that she is purchasing for our back yard if I return to the Boardroom. They do have a nice shuffleboard, you might want tho register with the Constable for the bankruptcy auction that is surely in The Boardroom’s future!

I received a direct mailer and decided to give them a try. The primary reason was because the mailer showed a picture of a pool table, and I thought my boys would think that was cool. Turns out there’s no pool table at this location. My boys were very disappointed. We are regulars at Finleys in Westlake so I’ll compare Boardroom to Finleys. Outside of price, the biggest difference is layout and vibe. Boardroom is broken into separate rooms so it’s quieter. Some may like that and some may prefer the more active vibe of Finleys. Haircut quality is comparable. My hairstylist actually came from Finleys. Pros — The paraffin hand dip was cool — Separate room for massages, though I didn’t get one — Manicure and pedicures are in a separate room so there’s a little privacy if you’re self-conscious about this Cons — More expensive than Finleys for the same thing — Kids didn’t like it as much as Finleys. Waiting area isn’t as nice as Finley’s, there aren’t tvs at each chair, and they didn’t get the neck massage like they do at Finleys. I’ll keep going to Finleys because of my boys(and I love it). I may come here just for a manicure every so often though.

Can’t comment on the hair service, I was there for a pedicure. Basically, I felt like I was intruding. Shop was empty when I arrived for my appointment around 4:30PM on 4⁄3 — receptionist & cosmetologist were in a back room. Receptionist showed up after a minute or two or three. I asked to see the cosmetologist’s license and to see the cleaning logs for the pedicure tubs; this was apparently a grave insult to both the receptionist and the cosmetologist. Service thereafter was perfunctory and cheerless: foot soak, a little scrub & clip the nails. No massage, no «thank you». I’ve never had a pedicure before, so I have no basis for comparison, but after this experience I can’t imagine why my wife thinks pedicures are so great.

I love this place. They are like my personal Cheer’s where I get to be Norm. They all know my name, greet me when I come in, and always take care of me. They don’t push the upcharges on you(at least they don’t with me), but they always offer it. The annual membership is a HUGE savings for a guy like me who is getting his hair cut every two weeks! All the folks there are truly great. Had my haircut by all of them, and they are always a pleasure. Stop in and get a haircut, the shave, and a beer. It’s a great way to start the weekend.

So far I’ve been here twice, and both times I’ve had someone different cut my hair. They were both the best hair cuts I’ve had in a decade… by far! I highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back. I just hope they stay in business because there’s never anyone else in there when I’m there.

I followed Christy over here from her previous salon because she’s friendly and always trims my beard expertly. It didn’t take long for me to also fall in love with the Boardroom itself. The atmosphere is always calm and quiet, which is nice after I’ve been in the office all day.

I’ll be blunt. If I wanted a SuperCuts-level service, I would have gone to SuperCuts and paid for a $ 12 haircut. Instead, at «The Boardroom», I got a receptionist/stylist who reeked of smoke, a clipper trimmer shoved in my ears & across my ENTIREHEAD, and my own hair blown back in my eyes. Now I know why there were only 2 customers and no reservations. I just hope the other guy wasn’t bleeding from the ear when he left. To make matters worse, the scalping I got in the chair(and again at the register) was exacerbated by the fact that my beard looked ridiculous paired with my new«burr» cut. I was offered a beard trim, but all the«stylist» did was clip 1/32″ off and tack on a few bucks to my tab. The line cook at the burger joint next door could have done a better job with a weed whacker and a box knife. That said, the wood trim & complimentary drink don’t replace a trained barber that won’t leave your hair begging for a hat and your extremities asking for a band-aid. If you want a good experience, go anywhere but here. To «The Boardroom,» to quote the immortal words of Donald Trump, «You’re Fired.»

This place is great. Expensive for simple stuff. But it’s Bee Cave, they thrive on that. My husband went from chubaka to clean lines and starting a faux hawk man. The beautician was great, and was saying how to maintain it at home. My husband got the 40 dollar cut and 12 dollar beard trim. Was 52 total plus tip. We plan to make an appt for him every three weeks while his hair grows out and starts to become the hair style he wants ;). I def recommend this place as they are nice, professional and clean ;)

One of the best barber shops in the city and hands down the best in the area, first class all the way.
