Fat Sats Bar & Grill

Excellent Green Chili, Margaritas and Burgers. We ate here near closing time and the service was timely, friendly and courteous. I definitely recommend this place and will eat here again if I’m ever in the area.

I used to love going to Fats Sats but they changed their menu choices, raised prices and lost my business.

This place is connected to a no name gas station. You get that exact service and quality of food. What a disappointment. SHAME ON GROUPON FOR EVEN LISTING THIS PLACE.

Burgers are good. Friendly staff don’t want to go at happy hour things are busy and rushed but overall I have been here a few times and every time was pretty good

This place has frustratingly high potential. It has a cool Chicago pub type atmosphere. It is a great place for drinks. However the problem with this place is consistency. Several years ago the fried mushrooms were amazing, best I had. Few years later they changed the recipe and tasted like frozen reheats. Wife liked a chicken dish until they changed that too. Just noticed on their Facebook page they are changing the menu. I hope it has meals with quality ingredients that their menu has lost over the years. When they added a breakfast menu I was pleased and the food was good. If I had written this review the first year or two they had opened they would of got five stars. When people eat at your restaurant they return because they have a set expectation, when you constantly change your menu and preparation, people are unsure what to expect.

Family took me to Fat Sat’s assuring me this was one of the best places to eat in Belen. Despite a slight disappointment with chips, salsa, and queso, I was very satisfied with the meal. The green chile double cheese burger is what the restaurant is known for. The green chile isn’t your typical chile. They offer that burger both on a bun and wrapped in a tortilla (though the tortilla version comes with less chile). The BLT is huge and the patty melt delicious. Steaks were highly recommended but I’ll have to try that next time.

Went back for mothers day dinner. They resolved the music problem and no longer offer people beer! Yes! I was charged twice for the same ticket but the waitress fixed it. So food was good. Improved atmosphere and good staff

The bar is ok, the food is hit or miss depending on who the cook is. I got food poisoning there the last time I ate there. I gave them another chance last weekend of February 2015 and I ordered the fried cheese sticks with marinara sauce, they were cold in the middle and the sauce could have been spackle for filling holes in the wall. I ordered two shots to help my mood and held the marinara sauce upside down for thirty minutes, it did not move. I took it back and showed the manager before I left. She tried to make me pay for the uneaten cheese Popsicles, but finally relented. Good luck going there I am not. I don’t want the shits again or really bad marinara sauce that won’t move on its own. if it smells like this don’t eat it

Love the baby green salad with grilled salmon! It has fabulous flavor and a generous portion for the price!
It’s kind of quiet here for a Saturday night. Lots of graduations going on this weekend, I guess. Come on in and enjoy great service and wonderful food! Support this local watering hole, they will earn your business!

A must stop if you want good food and your on the highway passing through. The other option is the Rio Grande Diner and the food there sucks and is way over priced.

Great atmosphere, good Margaritas, good service, ok food. For the middle Rio Grande area, we’re lucky to have Sat’s.

Not bad for a quick salad and drink… not my kinda place for a real meal.

The last time we ate at Fat Sats the food was horrible. The steaks were not cooked wright and really fatty. The prime rib was a grayish color and you spend like $ 6 on a tiny little salad. It took a long time to get our food. The staff were laughing and having a good time at the customers expense. The music was way to loud. It’s ashamed they don’t care about there customers more. I would not recommend Fat Sats to anyone.

This place is awesome! The food is great the staff is friendly. I love the Reuben and their green chile cheeseburger is the best! The atmosphere is unmatched for this area. It’s a great place to get together with friends!

Nice atmosphere, and the double chili cheese burger was awesome. HUGE beef patty’s. The kind of burger that has to be held together with a tooth pick so you can get your mouth around it.
