I like this place because it is exactly like the family restaurants of my youth: unpretentious, middle-to-lower scale food served simply and quickly. Lots of fried options and a few baked/roasted ones. The baked steak is classic West Virginia, crappy cut of meat rolled in flour and braised until it melts dish. Rolls are fresh but the vegetables are canned. Not a fine dining experience but a solid retro choice.

We got exactly what we expected when we went here. It was a little hole in the wall that used to be a descent place when my grandma used to go there as a kid. I didn’t expect much, and that’s what we got. It was honest, easy down home cooking. I got the honey battered chicken, and other than it being a little bland, I thought that the food was pretty freaking good. The rest of my party thought otherwise. It could’ve been quite a bit better though.

They are not closed, they just moved locations. Not sure of exact address for new place though… but it is just down the road. Main choice in going here… I didn’t want to eat at a chain since we were in WV… so this place was picked. Basically truck stop food. Grilled cheese and ham was tolerable, mozzarella sticks were blah and I only ate one, side salad was odd(dressing was jelly like), the biscuits and gravy my husband had was bland, the omelet Grandma had was rubbery, sis’s cornbread and beans was also bland.
