Ace Hardware & Home Center of Belleville-Sumpter

Greeted promptly by a female cashier who showed me to the area I needed. When I was comparing the differences between the different models another employee came to assist. I purchased two space heaters at their recommendation. The man was very polite and even carried them to my car for me without my asking him to. However, what ruined my 5 star review is the older female manager who was rude and abrasive when I returned them. Both the man who helped me and the cashier who took me to the aisle told me I had 30 days to return them as long as they were intact with all parts and kept my receipt. They unfortunately did not heat the room I needed them to so I returned them. The rude woman essentially argued with me and talked down to me with the way she was speaking and said «I’ll do it only this once» as if she was doing me a favor! I made sure to tell her after her rudeness that I was told that was the policy by two different employees before I purchased them. She wasn’t doing me any favors. She was just a grouchy old woman that had no business being in customer service let alone a manager.

I have got to admit, as a man I do like a good well stocked hardware store. I believe it is in our DNA.
Does it have everything? No. Nether does Lowe’s and it is much bigger.
What is does have is almost anything you would need for a DIY project or a fixer upper. The best part is it has «experts» on hand that will walk you thru almost anything you ask.
I spent several trips (my own lack of preparation) fixing some around the house issues and they had the parts and expertise I needed on hand everytime.
What should you expect from a country hardware? Alot. This place delivers… and then some. Good job folks!

A great country hardware store. Helpful folks who can coach you through any do it yourself project. Avoid those big box stores that hire fast food rejects and shop locally!
